MS Learning Solutions Discontinuations
Effective January 1st 2013, Microsoft is removing all of the smaller library SKUs in the eReference Library and offering only the Full Combination Library going forward. The reason for this change is two‐fold. One, not many customers ordered the smaller libraries and they took time to curate them. Two, the Full Combination Library contains everything that Microsoft Press has to offer for all audiences. Now, you don’t have to worry about ordering a different library for your office staff than you do for your technical staff. The Combination Library will suit everyone. The Core Infrastructure Suite (CIS) provides a licensing program for hosting service providers to purchase the technology needed today for a well‐managed and protected datacenter. Hosting Service Providers receive cost savings relative to purchasing the components of the Core Infrastructure Server Suites on a standalone basis; and for the incremental investment of up to 20% over Windows Server and System Center standalone prices, customers receive the value of a well‐managed and protected datacenter. The CIS Datacenter monthly subscription price is increasing in January 2013. The CIS Datacenter SKU is a suite offering with Windows Server 2012 and System Center 2012 components. The price increase in January is due to the new pricing of the System Center 2012 component launched in April 2012.Visual Studio Premium and Visual Studio Ultimate Price Increase in ISV and SPLA
Effective January 1st, 2013 the price for the following product families will be increasing in the ISV and SPLA programs. PRODUCT FAMILY VISUAL STUDIO ULTIMATE VISUAL STUDIO PREMIUMPoint Count Changes
Changes to Point Counts cannot be tied to a particular price list month. Point counts flow to downstream systems as soon as they are either set, or changed. While this precludes the ability to provide a 30‐day preview on point count changes, it does mean that point count errors can be corrected quickly without relying on the following month’s price list publication schedule. As point count changes will not be visible on the preview price list, please refer to the Product List for updated point counts in the interim. License point values (referred to as the “Unit Count” on price lists) are assigned based on a product’s global base price using a sliding scale and are only applicable in the Open and Select program. Each product pool (Applications, Systems, Server) has a unique scale for assigning point counts.Miscellaneous
