Annexure  2  -­‐  The  long  courses  (Chartered  Institute  of  

Marketing  UK)  –  Process  of  Registration  and  Costs  –  An  

overview  

 

The  process  of  registering,  as  required  by  Chartered  institute  of  Marketing  (CIM)  of  UK  is  as   below  

• Application   submission   (Application   form   is   available   either   online   or   from  

[email protected])   • Acceptance  of  candidature   • Invoice  sent  to  the  candidate  

• Payment   (in   local   currency   through   bank   to   our   financial   associate   in   India,   M/s   Finteq)  

• Confirmation  sent  to  student  with  all  log-­‐in  detail,  assigned  mentor  details,  relevant   study  material,  and  exam  schedules  

• Study  starts  

The  exams  are  held  twice  a  year  by  CIM.  A  student  can  book  next  available  exam  in  advance   by  paying  the  exam  fee  and  take  the  exam  at  his/her  nearest  centre.  

Course  Fee  and  other  costs    

The   course   fee   will   vary   from   £1200   to   £1700   (depending   upon   the   actual   course).   The   payments   could   be   made   to   our   Indian   office   in   Indian   rupees   through   cheque   or   bank   transfer.  These  costs  are  promotional  and  may  change  without  prior  notice.  

However  a  student  should  bear  in  mind  that  additional  cost  on  account  of  exam  fees  and   student   membership   of   CIM,   UK   will   be   required.   Currently   the   membership   is   £100   for

• Exam  fee  (to  be  payable  when  an  exam  is  booked)      

• Payments   towards   books   (if   hard   copy   required)   and   international   courier   charges   from  UK  to  India.  However  we  are  trying  to  develop  the  hard  copies  in  India.

Over  the  years  we  have  developed  a  high  quality  set  of  Study  Guides,  compiled  with   leading  publishers.  They  are  complete  with  a  step-­‐by-­‐step  guide  to  the  syllabus,  real   life   examples,   self-­‐test   exercises   and   related   assignments.   They   are   downloadable   and   use   the   latest   Adobe   E-­‐Book   Reader   software   allowing   onscreen   reading,   highlighting,  and  annotation  -­‐  making  them  a  truly  portable  resource.  Alternatively   you  can  download  and  print  them.

We  have  been  at  the  forefront  in  developing  on-­‐line  student  support.  The  student   section  of  our  website  provides  you  with  access  to:

•        Past  exam  papers  and  assignments,  specimen  answers  and  examiners  reports    •   A   research   facility   including   hotlinks   to   journals,   other   marketing   organisations   and  useful  websites  

 •  Podcasts  of  Cambridge  evening  lectures  freely  available  to  download    •  Webinars  or  on-­‐line  tutorials,  which  can  be  attended  live  or  re-­‐visited     •      RSS  feeds  providing  the  latest  marketing  news  

 •  Discussion  Forum  enabling  you  to  ask  questions  and  find  other  delegates  studying   your  course  or  working  nearby  and  form  real  or  virtual  study  groups

• Text  Books  -­‐  we  are  happy  to  recommend  textbooks  for  each  of  our  modules,  and   cost  effective  sourcing.  Alternatively  we  can  purchase  books  for  you  and  arrange  to   have  them  delivered  to  you.    

• More   time  –  if  you  need  more  time  to  complete  your  studies  you  can  extend  the   period  of  your  tutor  support  on  a  module-­‐by-­‐module  basis.  

• More  tutor  support  -­‐  if  you  want  more  tutor  support  for  all  or  any  of  your  modules   you  can  upgrade  at  anytime  to  have  additional  one  to  one  tutoring.  We  can  arrange   audio  or  video  sessions  with  your  tutor  for  any  or  all  of  your  modules.  You  will  only   have  to  pay  for  the  time  you  actually  use.  

• Taught  Sessions  –  if  you  are  able  to  travel  and  decide  during  your  studies  that  you   would  like  to  upgrade  to  attend  a  taught  weekend  in  the  UK  you  may  do  so  for  any   or  all  of  your  modules.  We  are  also  planning  to  start  these  taught  sessions  in  India  in   the  near  future.
