Established in 1936, the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland is a non-profit trade

association representing the residential housing and construction industry. The Home Builders

Associ-ation is your industry voice, representing more than 1,400 members who are dedicated to increasing

housing affordability and maximizing industry profitability.

What does the Home Builders Association do for me?

Advocacy & Industry Issues

The Home Builders Association’s government relations staff constantly monitors and advocates for our members on

issues affecting residential building and development throughout the Portland metropolitan area. From land use to

permitting to fees and building regulations, the Home Builders Association is your industry voice.

Community Impact

In 1997, the Home Builders Association founded the Home Builders Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit that builds and

remodels shelters and transitional housing for those experiencing homelessness in our community. The foundation

also provides college scholarships to those interested in pursuing a career in the home building industry.

Connections & Career Development

The Home Builders Association provides business and career development opportunities throughout the year.

We host monthly networking events, provide business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing and

sponsorship opportunities and offer online and live CCB continuing education and certification classes. The Home

Builders Association also has three councils for focused networking and career development – the Professional

Remodelers Organization, the High Performance Council and the Professional Women in Building Council.

Business Savings

As a member of the Home Builders Association, you have access to discounts such as workers comp, group medical

health insurance, credit card processing services, wireless services, manufacturer’s rebates on building products and

services, and others at the local (HBAMP), state (OHBA) and national (NAHB) levels.

Catering & Event Space

Want to host an event for your business? The Home Builders Association owns a fantastic catering company,

Celebrate, which offers a 10% discount on food for members. The Home Builders Association also offers members

the use of complimentary private office space and conference rooms if you need to meet with a client.

Grow your business. Make meaningful connections. Develop your career.
