Technical Features

Main Features

BODY

The TRUNNION

BALL VALVES design has

been conceived with the target to grant to final users the following advantages: • To permit an easy

assembly and

disassembly operation; • To provide the valves

with two independent floating seat rings ensuring the bidirectional tightness of the valve. The seat rings are spring loaded to achieve the required tightness even at very low pressure.

• To avoid any over pressure acting in the body cavity providing each seat ring performing the Single Piston Effect obtaining self relieving function.

• To easily insert in the seats resilient seal insert of every type of material as well as to assembly in the valve

METAL TO METAL SEAL.

• On request the design permits to provide

modified seat rings performing double piston effect. • To accomodate easily special features as per costumer request.

The TRUNNION SIDE

ENTRY are bolted body

side outlet design to simplify assembly and field service. Perfect

sealing and fire safe features are granted by the double sealing action of 0-Rings and graphite gaskets in all static joints of the body components.

The TRUNNION FULLY

WELDED BODY DESIGN

reduces the potential leak of bolted design. The body welded configuration allow for a considerable reduction in weigt when the welded end version is selected. Also for this type of valves the stem extension can be easily provided, making the valve suitable for inaccessible areas or buried service.

Also in this case the drains and grease injection system are supplied. The TRUNNION TOP

ENTRY BODY is designed

for valves to be maintained in line. The bolted

construction allows disassembly on site for inspection and possible repairs.

Disassembling the

bonnet cover it is possible to have free access to the ball and the seats which can simultaneous be taken out without the need for any special maintenances tools. The valves

have standard DB&B design (self-relieving seats) in manner that after maintenances the tightness of the seating can be assessed by pressuring the body cavity only.

STEM

Fire Safe

Extended Stem

TRUNNION BALL VALVES

Anti-Static

Design

Ball Position

STEM is shaped to be

antiblow-out and is axially supported by an

anti-friction bearing. The stem retention can be provided with two different proven design:

A) Depending on the packing gland.

The stem seal is achieved by the use of two O-rings and a graphite gasket retained by the gland plate. An emergency sealant injection facility is provided between the two O-rings. The graphite gasket can be replaced with the valve in line and the ball in any position. The steam seals can be replaced with the valve in line providing that the valve is in the fully closed or fully open position and after having completely released the pressure in the body cavity.

B) Provided with a bottom entry shouldered stem.

In this solution the upper stem will be shouldered directly to the body of the valves and can be adopted for side entry fully welded valves and if required by customers specifications.

A spring loaded device is inserted in the stem for granting electrical continuity continually between all the metallic component of the trim and the body.

Trunnion position of the ball is obtained with two, one upper and one lower, rigid, large diameter, short coupled insert which support the ball side load due to differential pressure.

Between the insert and ball is adopted metal-backed, self lubricating sleeve bearing an thrust washers.

RMT trunnion mounted

ball valves have been designed to comply with the fire safety standard of API 607 e API 6FA and ISO 10497.

Fire safe qualification tests wise witnessed independent inspection authority and cover the production range.

For low and high temperature service when the valves to be used on isulated lines or for valves required for low or high temperature service

RMT design

can include

an extended bonnet that increase the distance from the body and the stem sealing area, thus avoiding damage to

the seals because of temperature.

RMT valves can be

supplied complete with suitable stem extension

for installation on underground lines.

All the drain vent and emergency

seal (and pipes) are extended the relevant pipes are attached to the stem extension. In addition to standard welding (BW) or flanged (RF; RTJ) end connection valves can be supplied with hub ends as for costumer request.

Technical Features

Main Features

BODY

The FLOATING

BALL VALVES

design has been

conceived with

the target to grant

to final users

the following

advantages:

• To permit an

easy assembly

and disassembly

operation;

• To provide the valves

with two seat Self

Relieving that can be

provided with: PTFE,

PTFE Glass or

Graphite Filled,

PCTFE (Kel F),

Nylon, Peek;

• To avoid any

over pressure

acting in the

body cavity

providing a

SELF

RELIEVING

function.

• To easily assembly

in the valve METAL

TO METAL SEAL.

• To provide the valves

with every type of

Seal - Nitrile, Viton A,

B, GF, AED, GLT and

on request Lip Seals

for Cryogenic, High

temperature.

N corrosive

Application.

•To accommodate

easily special

features as

per costumer

request.

27

The FLOATING SIDE

ENTRY are manufactured

with two pieces

bolted body

and closure

to allow easy

service and maintenance

operation on site.

Perfect sealing and

fire safe features are

granted by the double

sealing action of 0-Ring

and graphite gaskets in

all static joints of the body

components.

The FLOATING valves

can also be provided with

Fully Welded Body

Design that reduces the

potential leak of bolted

design. The body welded

configuration allow for

a considerable reduction

in weight when the welded

end version is selected.

For this type of valves

the stem extension can

be easily provided, making

the valve suitable for

inaccessible areas or

buried service, also

in case the drains and

grease injection system

are specified.

The FLOATING TOP

ENTRY BODY is

designed for valves

to be manteined in line.

The bolted construction

allow disassembly on site

for inspection and

possible repairs.

Disassembling the bonnet

cover it is possible to

have free access to the

ball and the seats which

can simultaneous be

taken out without the

need for any special

maintenance tools.

BALL

STEM

Fire Safe

Extended Stem

End Connection

The FLOATING

BALL is made separately

from the stem and is usually made in Stainless Steel, or in Carbon Steel ENP, or in Special Alloy and in carbide coating for Metal to Metal Service.

STEM is shaped to be

antiblow-out and is axially supported by an anti friction bearing.

The STEM RETENCTION is provided with a bottom entry shouldered stem. The stem seal is achieved by the use of one primary PTFE seal, two O-rings and a graphite gasket retained by the gland. On request an emergency sealant injection facility can be provided.

A spring loaded device is inserted in the stem for granting electrical conductivity continually between all the metallic components of the trim and the body.

RMT Floating Ball Valves

have been designed to comply with the fire safety standard of API:

• 607 • 6FA and ISO: • ISO 10497.

Fire safe qualification test wise witnessed by independent inspection authority and cover the production range.

For low and high temperature service, when the valves to be used on insulated lines or for valves required for low or high temperature service, RMT design can include an extended bonnet that increase the distance from the body and the stem sealing area, thus avoiding damage to the seals because of temperature.

RMT Valves can be

supplied complete with suitable stem extension for installation on underground lines. All the drain vent and emergency sealant lines are extended, the relevant pipe are attached to the stem extension.

In addition to standard welding (BW) or flanged (RF; RTJ) end connections, the valves can be supplied with hub ends as for costumer request.

Material List

RMT valves can be

provided with the following materials:

On request RMT Valves can be supplied in accordance with NACE MR-01-75.

In addition to

NACE MR-01-75.

The additional qualification can be:

• Sulphide stress corrosion cracking as per

NACE TM-01-77.

• Hidrogen induced cracking as per NACE TM-02-84. • Sulfur <_ 0,015 %.
