Logistics, Value Stream, and Supply Management

(LVSS) Certificate Program

Methodology

This certificate program has been developed by a committee comprised of The University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College faculty and members of the Matamoros Maquiladora Association. The content is tailored to meet the needs of first line supervisors and materials/logistics specialists. The general scope of the material will be broad enough to give participants a “big picture” approach so they may see how their individual jobs affect organizational cost, quality, and customer service. In addition, the tools taught in this pro-gram will be sufficiently specific so that participants may apply the tools to their daily jobs.

Course Overview

The Logistics, Value Stream, and Supply Management Certificate Program will be divided into eight modules which will vary in class time from 4 hours to 12 hours. The total contact hours are 60. Participants will be given a certificate of completion for each specific mod-ule; additionally, those participants who complete all eight modules will be given a certifi-cate of completion in Logistics, Value Stream, and Supply Management Fundamentals. A summary of the module times is as follows:

1. Fundamentals of Supervision 8 hours

2. Ethics 4 hours
