Installation, Operating, Maintenance & Safety Instructions

Rotary IBC

AdBlue Pump

(2)

Important Information

It is important to ensure that this pump is both handled and operated in accordance with the

instructions below. Failure to operate the pump as described within these instructions will not only

invalidate warranty but may also lead to operational issues.

NOTE: The RHP105 pump is designed for light and occasional use, it is only compatible

with Air1 IBC’s, it should not be used on applications demanding more than 4000L/yr

Parts List

1.

Handle Assembly

Part #: RHP0008

2.

Main Pump Body

Part #: RHP0005

3.

Delivery Hose

Part #: RHP0004

4.

Hose Clamps

Part #: SSMC25/27

5.

Delivery Spout

Part #: CTS2028

1.0

Assembly

1.1 Place hose clamp (#4) over the long end of the delivery hose (#3).

1.2 Insert the delivery spout (#5) into the long end of delivery hose (#3) and fully tighten clamp (#4) NOTE ensure that the hose tail from the delivery spout is fully inserted to guarantee a tight seal

1.3 Place hose clamp (#4) over the other end of the delivery hose assembly which features the anti-kink spring (#3).

1.4 Place the hose over the hose tail on the outlet of the main pump body pump (#5) and fully tighten clamp (#4)

IMPORTANT NOTE

Ensure that both the hose tails from the delivery spout and the main pump body pumps are fully inserted and that

the clamps are done up firmly to guarantee a tight seal. Loose fitting hose connections will

cause the pump to lose its prime between uses.

1.5 Clip the dispensing nozzle on to the fitting located after the suction pipes anti-kink spring.

1.6 (required for first use only) affix the pump handle to the shaft of the pump body using the

Installation

To fit the pump to a new IBC

2.1 Position the pumps inlet suction coupler over the CDS suction pipe flange so that the pump is in the upright position and stable

NOTE do not connect the pump to the central cap in the IBC, you must use the outer CDS fitting

2.2 Rotate the blue collar on the SEC coupler so that it rotates fully, this opens the suction path to the IBC

NOTE: if the IBC you are connecting the pump to for its first use is not full, it may be necessary to manually prime the pump both before and after first use, this is required to eliminate any air that will be drawn into the system. Please refer to trouble shooting in section 5.0.

3.0

Operation

To use the pump to dispense into the vehicle or a suitable dedicated container

The pump if fitted

correctly to the IBC container should resemble something like this.

Please ensure that the pump delivery nozzle is returned to the suction pipe clip after each use to prevent siphoning.

NOTE The RHP105 IBC top mount pump kit is

designed for light and occasional use. Care should be taken not to damage or distort the pumps handle shaft.

Specification

Flow Rate: 25 litre/min

Delivery Hose: 2.5m

Suction Coupler: SEC type

Suitable for all Air1 type AdBlue IBC’s. Alternative versions available for other container types.

(4)

3.1 remove the nozzle from its clip on the suction hose and place spout directly into the vehicles AdBlue tanks/containers filler neck. 3.2 start to pump by turning handle in clockwise direction, continue to dispense the desired amount. Release handle to stop dispensing

3.3 Replace the nozzle to its clip on the suction hose. NOTE the nozzle must be located in this clip when not in use to prevent siphoning and loss of prime.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

ALWAYS ROTATE

HANDLE CLOCKWISE

NOTE: The RHP105 pump should

NOT

be removed from the container between uses

(until the container is empty), as regular removal will cause a loss of prime and

increases the risk of damage to the sensitive pump handle and shaft assembly.

4.0

Maintenance

4.1 Please ensure that the pumps delivery nozzle remains clean and free from dirt that could contaminate the vehicle/container tank.

4.2 Visually check joints for leak tightness every use, signs of leakage will be evident by white chalky residue build up around the joint/leak.

4.3 Check hoses for signs of wear regularly.

4.4 Ensure the handle operates smoothly and that there is no distortion in the pump handle shaft. 4.5 To ensure trouble free operation maintain the equipment is kept clean and free from build of dried

AdBlue product / dirt.

5.0

Trouble Shooting

5.1 If the pump becomes stiff then it may be necessary to remove the white pump body by

disconnecting the inlet and outlet hoses then soaking the white pump body and handle in warm water for 20-30 minutes, dry then replace.

NOTE 1 you should dispose of the first 2 litres passing through the pump after this process.

NOTE 2 you may need to re-prime the pump system, please refer to instruction 5.2 below.

5.2 If the pump will not pump then it will be necessary to re-prime it, before re-priming check to see if there is an issue with air ingress, loose joints will cause loss of suction:

A) That SEC coupler in correctly fitted and in the open position B) All hose clamps are fully tightened

(5)

Re-Priming the RHP105 Pump Assembly

5.2.1 turn the handle so that it points completely downwards (6 o’clock position) 5.2.2 release the spout is from its support clip on delivery hose

5.2.3 lift the entire hose assembly above lie the hose on top of the container so that any fluid present in the hose is transferred back into the main pump body

5.2.4 attempt to dispense, if unsuccessful follow steps 5.2.5 onwards. 5.2.5 Reposition the hand so that it points downwards as in step 5.2.1

5.2.6 lay the entire delivery hose assembly on top of the IBC container

5.2.7 loosen the hose clamp that secures the delivery hose assembly (#3) to the main pump body

(#5) and remove the hose to expose the black hose tail

5.2.8 back fill the hose going to the pump inlet fully with either AdBlue or De-ionised water* until full. * NOTE if unable to use AdBlue or de-ionised water then tap water will prove sufficient however you must dispose of this liquid through the pump and not allow tap water to enter the vehicles AdBlue tank as this will lead to premature SCR failure (see Note 1 in section 5.1) 5.2.9 re-attach delivery hose assembly to main pump body

5.2.10 tighten hose clamp fully top secure this joint 5.2.11 commence dispensing as per section 3 above

6.0

Safety Instruction

6.1 Ensure that all users of this pump are trained in its operation and installation

6.2 Ensure that the system is not used for any purpose other than that for which it was intended 6.3 Ensure that the nozzle is securely in place before filling

6.4 Do not over rotate the handle during operation

6.5 Ensure all hoses are retained/coiled as to not form a trip hazard during both storage and operation 6.6 Do not overfill the vehicle/container

6.7 Ensure adequate spill response planning is in place

6.8 Check hoses and joint for integrity between use (see instruction 4.2 / 4.3)

6.9 If you experience discomfort in the operation of this unit please cease to operate it immediately
