INTRODUCTION

At Redbridge College we inspire young people to focus and build upon their strengths to prepare them for the next stage of their development - be it further education, university and/or the world of work. Ensuring young people are able to make informed choices about their future is a vital part of what we do.

All schools are expected to offer all pupils impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) regarding careers and their future choices, under the terms of the Education Act 2011. We want to help you to continue to meet this target by providing access to our excellent range of IAG services, careers-based skills-building workshops and college experiences for your year 9, 10 and 11 pupils.

Our range of practical, hands-on workshops include CV writing, interview techniques and public speaking plus plenty more. Meanwhile, we also offer Experience Days at both our Chadwell Heath Campus and the Ilford Skills Academy allowing your pupils to try their hand at our vocational courses and experience a lesson at college. We can even bring our experienced, passionate staff and vibrant team of student

ambassadors in to your school. All of our offerings are free of charge and our staff are independently accredited by Matrix, meaning they provide unbiased IAG. In partnership with your school, we can help young people to make more informed choices about their future.

Activities

Body language workshops

Body language plays an important role in how we all communicate, be it in an everyday workplace environment or an interview situation. Our workshop will help your pupils to present themselves better through a series of fun interactive games.

CV writing workshop

In a competitive job market, having a coherent CV that sells your skills to employers is more important than ever. We will show your pupils how to prepare and layout a CV, tell them what key strengths employers look for and help them to create their own CV.

Public speaking workshop

Our workshop will build pupils’

understanding of how to speak confidently and inspiringly in public. Workshops will focus on both verbal and non-verbal communication.

Interview techniques workshop

This workshop will educate your pupils about the interview process, the key

questions interviewers often ask and how to provide confident answers. The workshop will also focus on how to project positive body language.

Our experienced Recruitment team will deliver an interactive and informative presentation highlighting the variety of post-16 options available to pupils.

We will provide impartial information, advice and guidance plus a variety of literature and promotional materials at your career events or parents evenings.

Our mock interview sessions allow pupils to put their knowledge of the interview process into practice. Mock interviews increase pupils’ confidence and allow them to prepare answers to common interview questions ahead of the real thing.

Instead of your learners travelling to us, let our staff come to them! Our skilled team offer interviews that fit around your school’s lunch break or other convenient times. Our experienced team will support your learners whilst completing their application forms at a time convenient for your school.

courses

Vocational courses offer an exciting alternative to A-Levels when it comes to preparing young people for Higher Education or the world of work. Instead of studying three or four subjects, vocational qualifications allow them to focus on a single subject they love. The majority of our full-time qualifications are taught over three and a half days and they are widely accepted by universities.
