1 PURPOSE OF TESTS

The purpose of the tests is to check the full functionality of the energy meter. This procedure must be used with the complete Diameter Test Procedure, which provides the list of all panel wiring tests. This procedure does not intend to check that all alarms and trips are correctly sent to the DCS or SCADA level. This part is already developed into dedicated DCS or SCADA Commissioning procedures.

7. TEST PROCEDURES

The following procedures are written for demonstrating the main functions of the energy meters using an Omicron test set or similar. This document is to be referred to when performing commissioning tests in association with the commissioning section of the service manual.

7.1. Operational tests:

7.1.1 Meter Display (Instant Readings)

 Program the meter with correct ratio of Current Transformer and Voltage transformer.

 Apply rated voltage and check the meter readings and record the different readings such as Phase

to phase voltage and Phase to neutral voltage.

 Now apply rated current and check the readings and record.

 Apply rated voltage and current with phase angle 0° and check the Power Factor and note the

readings.

 Similarly, apply rated voltage and current with different phase angle and note down the readings.

7.1.2 Meter Display (Accumulated Readings)

Apply rated voltage and rated current with Unity power factor for 30 Minutes and check the initial readings and final readings.
