THICKNESS CALCULATIONS AS PER

ASME B 31.3

Notes :

1. Inputs to this sheet, are the Ivory coloured cells ie, - Design Pressure,

- Design Temperature,

- Basic allowable stress in tension at design temperature, - Corrosion allowance,

- Longitubinal weld joint factor, - Coefficient,

- Weld joint strength reduction factor.

3. Select seamless for seamless pipes and welded for welded pipes.

5. This sheet gives only schedule thickness for seamless pipes and MM thickness for welded pipes. 6. This sheet gives thicknesses for following sizes of carbon steel and stainless steel pipes,

Carbon steel pipes (seamless) = from 1/2 to 48 NPS Carbon steel pipes (welded) = from 6 NPS to 80 NPS

= from 1/2 to 30 NPS

- Pipe Material,

2. Select ASME B 36.10 for carbon steel pipes and ASME B 36.19 for stainless steel pipes(for stainless steel pipes the third column in selected thickness shows "N A" as per the ASME B 36.19).

4. This sheet gives thicknesses up to 20 NPS by default, for higher sizes the select the required size in the drop down menu against pipe size.

Stainless steel pipes (seamless and welded)

7. The column for selected Thickness gives MM thicknesses in the first column, corresponding Schedules Sch 40, 60, 80 etc in the second column and Sch XS, STD, XXS etc in the third columns as available.
