Notice of selection

Selection for the awarding of 7 teaching positions for supplementary teaching aa.yy. 2015/16 and 2016/17 at Mathematics Area of ISAS

According to the Law 240/2010, art.23, according to the regulation of teaching positions, considering the decisions of Academic Senate dated 20.10.2015 and of Board of Directors dated 15.12.2015, this notice is published for selection procedure based on qualifications for the allocation of 7 teaching positions specified in Annex 1.

Incompatibility:

a) those who have a relationship of marriage, relationship or affinity to the fourth degree, with the Director, the Secretary General, the teachers of the Mathematics Area and members of the Board of Directors of ISAS (Annex 2);

b) employees, including temporary employees of ISAS, full-time/part-time; c) those who hold one of the positions of art. 13 D.P.R. 382/80;

d) according to art.25, co. 1, Law 724/94, who has voluntarily terminated from the service at ISAS with the right to early retirement seniority, except as provided by art.10 of D.Lgs. 165/2001 for university teachers and researchers, or who has voluntarily terminated from one of the administrations of art.1, co. 2, of D.Lgs. 165/2001 with the right to early retirement seniority and had a working relationship with ISAS in the five years preceding the termination of service;

e) who is enrolled in a doctoral research, further training, specialization at ISAS or at other universities;

f) who holds at the same time at ISAS of any other paid position;

g) who has already held at ISAS assignments in accordance with applicable regulations which have been renewed the maximum extent possible.

Presentation applications

Applications drafted according to the attached form must be directed to the Director of ISAS - via Bonomea n.265 - 34136 Trieste. Applications must be received at the Human Resources Office of ISAS within: 1.00 p.m. of January 21, 2016, in the following ways:

- by registered A/R or by fax n. 0403787240/249 with a copy of valid ID;

- by hand directly to the Human Resources Office of ISAS (second floor room 204 or 203) - Via Bonomea 265 - 34136 - Trieste, in the following hours: Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., except on the day of deadline, in which the applications must be received by 1.00 p.m.; - by Certified Mail to the certified email address of ISAS: protocollo@pec.sissa.it within the deadline. The application must be carried out by other Certified Mail; applications made by a not certified e-mail address will not be considered valid. Under penalty of exclusion of the application you are required to attach to the certified e-mail the application and CV in .pdf format which shall include the scanning of the signature of the candidate, the scanning .pdf of a valid identity card (front and back) and any other annex to the application in pdf format. Applications must be accompanied by the following documentation:

a) curriculum of academic, scientific and professional activity; b) tax and social security information form;

The Director of ISAS, proposed by the Board of Mathematics Area, appoints a Selection Committee consisting of three members and one alternate member also outside the ISAS, experienced in the field. The Selection Committee examines comparatively scientific publications and the overall curriculum of the candidates based on the following criteria to be referred to the disciplinary fields related teaching activities to be carried out:

a) level of academic, scientific or professional qualification of the candidate;

b) congruence of the professional and scientific activity of the candidate with the subject matter of teaching for which the selection is published;

c) previous teaching experience or collaborative teaching; d) scientific production with reference to the last five years.

The possession of a doctoral degree or equivalent qualification obtained abroad is an advantage for the assignment of the teaching assignment, if not required as a prerequisite. At the end of the proceedings the Selection Committee draws up a final report, to be submitted to the Director, in which it gives a summary account of the comparative assessment according to which proposal is the choice of subjects to whom give assignments.

Assignment of the teaching assignment

The teaching positions are allocated to the candidates designated as follows:

a) assignment placed by the Director for the teaching and research staff in Italian universities; b) private contract of self-employment signed by the Director for parties outside the university

system.

If foreign citizen, the assignment will be given if the holder is in compliance with current provisions on residence permit.

The assignment does not entitle you to other academic positions within the University.

The teaching assignment has the rights and is bound to comply with the obligations set out in Regulation ISAS in force.

The expected compensation for the positions, indicated in Annex 1, will be paid at the end of the planned hours of lessons, following the declaration of the Coordinator of Mathematics Area certifying carrying out of the activity.

Final provisions

The candidates' personal data will be entered into the databases of ISAS and will be processed in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 for the proper purpose of the selection procedures and the consequent possible management’s report of the assignment of teaching.

Matters not covered by this Notice are subject to the general provisions and in particular those laid down in the Regulations of the ISAS for the discipline of teaching assignments.

POSITION 1)

Teaching title: Dynamics of Hamiltonian PDEs

Academic recruitment field: 01/A3 – MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS, PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS

Academic discipline: MAT/05 – MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS Area: 01 MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS

Duration: 5 months – 20 hours Period: February-June 2016

Requirements for admission to selection:

on the date of expiry of the deadline for submitting applications for admission to the selection procedure candidates must have:

- deep knowledge of partial differential equations Hamiltonian, proven by an extensive scientific production;

- titles demonstrators matching of the candidate's scientific activity as regards the disciplines in the competitive sector for which the selection is published (in particular scientific activity proven in the field of Hamiltonian PDE);

- titles demonstrators update level of scientific production in relation to the development of research in the competitive sector of interest;

- titles proving previous teaching experience within subject area of interest; - possession of a PhD or equivalent foreign title;

remuneration: € 2.000,00 gross more travel expense/accommodation up to a maximum of € 2.000,00.

POSITION 2)

Teaching title: Variational methods for linear and nonlinear Dirac equations

- deep knowledge of nonlinear analysis, variational methods, Dirac equation, proven by an extensive scientific production;

- titles demonstrators matching of the candidate's scientific activity as regards the disciplines in the competitive sector for which the selection is published (in particular scientific activity proven in the field of EDP and the Dirac equation);

- titles demonstrators update level of scientific production in relation to the development of research in the competitive sector of interest;

- titles proving previous teaching experience within subject area of interest; - possession of a PhD or equivalent foreign title;

remuneration: € 2.000,00 gross more travel expense/accommodation up to a maximum of € 2.000,00.

- deep understanding of the theory and applications of W-algebras classical and quantum, proven by an extensive scientific production;

- titles demonstrators matching of the candidate's scientific activity as regards the disciplines in the competitive sector for which the selection is published (in particular scientific activity proven in the field of algebra type vertex);

- titles demonstrators update level of scientific production in relation to the development of research in the competitive sector of interest;

- titles proving previous teaching experience within subject area of interest; - possession of a PhD or equivalent foreign title;

remuneration: € 3.000,00 gross more travel expense/accommodation up to a maximum of € 2.000,00.

Teaching title: Linear and non-linear Schroedinger equations: well-posedness, scattering Academic recruitment field: 01/A4 MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS

Duration: 2 months – 40 hours Period: 02/05-03/07/2016

Requirements for admission to selection:

on the date of expiry of the deadline for submitting applications for admission to the selection procedure candidates must have:

- deep understanding of the phenomena of dispersion, well-posedness and scattering for nonlinear Schroedinger equations relevant in mathematical physics, proven by an extensive scientific production;

- titles demonstrators matching of the candidate's scientific activity as regards the disciplines in the competitive sector for which the selection is published (in particular scientific activity proven in the field of dispersion phenomena, well-posedness and scattering for nonlinear Schroedinger equations relevant in mathematical physics);

- titles demonstrators update level of scientific production in relation to the development of research in the competitive sector of interest;

- titles proving previous teaching experience within subject area of interest; - possession of a PhD or equivalent foreign title;

remuneration: for each hour of teaching competes remuneration of € 100,00 gross, total compensation: € 4.000,00 gross, plus 50% of the charge due to additional activity in research into the subject of the assignment (Art. 15 of the Regulation): € 2.000,00 gross more travel expense / accommodation up to a maximum of € 3.800,00.
