Your users’ experiences of ADAM and Sitecore will typically look something like this. Your ADAM solution will have a web-ready taxonomy set which Branding will use for assets that are fit for purpose, including all the metadata specifying where each asset can be used, and a workflow enabling these assets to be shared with Sitecore users.
To obtain an asset, a user in Marketing (and/or an external agency) will go to ADAM, identify what they want, download it onto their local drive and import it into Sitecore. But because the two ends of this process (asset rights management in ADAM and asset usage in Sitecore) don’t have a common set of controls, this can have serious implications for your business.
• With no direct link between the two systems, internal and/or external users can be forced to create workaround processes to ‘bridge the divide’. These often depend heavily on manual intervention; are inconsistent, ineffective, and crucially, can limit the value you receive from your intellectual property (IP).
