handling as usual
The CR system does not involve any major changes to the conventional X-ray
process. Instead of the normal film cassette you use an imaging plate cassette that is identical in shape and size. After the normal X-ray process, this cassette is inserted into the CR unit and read out within a short period of time. The digital image data produced in the process is automatically stored and can then be viewed on the diagnostic evaluation
monitor in optimum quality. Divario
Apart from using the CR system in practices
and clinics, the whole system can also be built into a vehicle now. With your mobile equipment, you can X-ray on site and evaluate the generated images at once.

Divario in a veterinary practice for small animals, Dr Jörn Grossmann, Germany
“The system was recommended to me by a colleague. I then requested various quotes and I found the offer by OR Technology to be the most attractive. Since we do not take a large amount of X-ray images in our practice I found this system the most suitable. It requires little space, but does not compromise as far as handling and image quality are concerned.
The system is much easier to operate than our previous analogue unit. Developing films used to be very laborious involving a darkroom, chemicals etc. The new system saves a lot of time and
provides me with a high quality X-ray image within seconds. The number of incorrectly exposed images has been reduced significantly and is now close to zero.
The entire workflow during X-raying is very simple. At my workstation, I enter the patient data into my easyVET practice management software. Then I call up the data at the touchscreen X-ray monitor and prepare image generation
by entering the exposure data. The kV value is automatically registered in the software so that I can refer back to it if similar X-ray images are required at a later stage. Then the image is taken and I insert the exposed cassette into the CR system. After a short while the cassette is read and I can evaluate the images at my workstation.
includes numerous practical measuring functions.
I often use the function to determine the heart size (Vertebral Heart Score) and HD measuring. I also find it practical that I have the option to store the X-ray images on my laptop via the laptop module which allows me mobile access to the images wherever I am.”

Dr Alexander Pack and Dr Karl Scherer on digital X-ray with a Medici system at Tierklinik Elversberg:

“There were a number of reasons that made us
choose OR Technology's system” explains
Dr Karl Scherer. “The intuitive operation via the touch screen monitor had us convinced straightaway. We can use it to control the entire X-ray system. The functions are laid out very clearly and are easy to operate. Another point in favour was the simple transmission of X-ray images to colleagues via e-mail. In addition, the system offers good value for money which had been a convincing factor from the start.”
The image quality is consistently high and
I have access to all images at any time. We now take many more X-ray images than before because digital X-ray technology has simplified the workflow in our clinic enormously. HD X-ray imaging now only takes a few minutes and saves us a lot of time. “The introduction of digital X-ray imaging has been a great success for us. An important aspect is that we can already say that the system will soon have paid for itself.”

Dierenkliniek Kerkelanden, Veterinarian Dr Erik Schurer, Hilversum, Netherlands about Medici:
The Dierenkliniek Kerkelanden frequently cooperates with other specialist veterinarians. “Thanks to digital image management it is very easy for us to communicate with external specialists on particular cases”, says veterinarian Dr Erik Schurer. “We also receive a lot of praise from referring doctors. Pim Wolvekamp, a Dutch authority on X-ray, is extremely enthusiastic about the quality of our
images created with ,” he adds.
Two vets from the veterinary faculty of Utrecht University also praise the image quality.
„...Since we take a lot of images, we incur fewer costs with the digital X-ray system than we did with our previous analogue system...“

“Diagnostic evaluation is simple and up-to-date and the large number of
functions, such as annotations, grid displays, enlargement, zoom, light/dark contrast changes and image export are most helpful. Thanks to the uncomplicated archiving option we have fast access to images even at a later stage. The integration with our practice management software Vetinf is working smoothly.”, says Dr Wackes.
Service and consultation are also important issues for veterinarians. “We are very happy with the technical support offered by OR Technology”, comments Dr Wackes. “Any faults reported are processed by friendly telephone staff. In urgent situations, the problem is forwarded immediately or dealt with promptly...“

Veterinarian specializing in horses,
Dr Rolf-Peter Schulze, Hoitlingen, Germany, about the Leonardo system:
Leonardo
Dr Rolf-Peter Schulze is a veterinarian specialising in horses in Hoitlingen, Lower Saxony. Mobile practices appreciate, more than others, appreciate the benefits of digital X-ray systems. Images are available immediately which allows doctors to make a prompt diagnosis. The cumbersome intermediary steps of developing the images and a second on-site visit can be dispensed with. After comparing different systems, Dr Rolf-Peter Schulze chose the suitcase solution by
OR Technology.
“The system was selected on
account of its practical relevance. The suitcase is comparatively light and easy to transport. The removable laptop and robust cable connections guarantee uncomplicated set-up and comfortable operation. A high-resolution screen provides excellent image quality. And the user-friendly software eventually won me over.“ Dr Rolf-Peter Schulze also enjoys using the integrated multimedia X-ray positioning guide: “The well laid-out hints and comments are also very suitable for my future assistant who may not have a lot of experience.” Dr Rolf-Peter Schulze
Veterinary radiology department at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin – Dr. Renata Komsta, Head of Department:
Leonardo
„...The unit allows research in and outside the laboratory. The size of the detector, 35 x 43 cm, allows us to conduct studies on both small and large animals.
Operating the system is very simple and
convenient. The compact suitcase ensures quick activation of the system and safe transport. ...For us, the greatest advantage is the consistently high image quality we obtain by using the up-to-date
acquisition software. In addition, it was virtually impossible to create images outside the institute with conventional technology while the
system allows us to work anywhere...“

In spring 2007 we took the decision to change over
to by OR Technology. The reasons
for the move were the increased demands on digital image processing and archiving. At the same time it was important to us that all staff members should be able to use the new system without difficulty.
Moreover, we were looking for a software that would continue to develop dynamically and that could be adapted to individual needs. Moreover, the newly acquired software should be compatible with the existing image archive and hardware.
The changeover from the old to the new software was prepared so professionally by the OR Technology

Sudenhof horse clinic, Dr. Eberhard Mettenleiter, specialist for horses and equine surgery:
“The system benefits from a clear and simple structure. Other users confirmed that the system runs almost problem-free. The first demonstration was impressive and we could integrate our practice management software. We also considered it important that a web server solution was available for web based image distribution. The price-performance ratio is excellent compared to other systems.
is easy to handle and very safe for storing data. Everybody is worried about a power failure or a system crash causing loss of data. After having experienced a power failure we were relieved to find that all the data was still available.
Initially, the installation was to our satisfaction. However, when the IT technician had left the premises, we encountered some minor problems. Most of these issues could be resolved by the support staff within two weeks by means of telephone and remote maintenance. Today everything is great.
