The Training Fund is designed to guide and support your educational and career advancement while meeting the workforce needs of your employer. We function as a partnership between your union and your employer. All Training Fund benefits are free to eligible employees.• Tuition assistance for healthcare-related degrees and certificate programs

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Training Fund you must: • Work in a participating SEIU Healthcare
1199NW bargaining unit • Be a full- or part-time employee
• Pass your employer’s probationary period For Tuition Assistance you must:
• Meet the above criteria
• Be employed for one year from date of hire
• Have no written corrective action on file for the past year • Sign a Service Agreement

Tutoring
Our tutoring program lends support so you can master your subject. We provide high quality tutoring in Math, Sciences, and English/Writing. Small group and drop-in sessions are arranged according to your needs and schedules.
We also offer on-line tutoring with Tutor.com which can be accessed 24/7 from any internet-enabled computer or mobile device.

Workshops
As a returning student you may need to take college preparatory or prerequisite classes. The Training Fund hosts workshops that are offered at convenient day and evening times.College prep workshops include:

Professional Development
The Training Fund can help you keep current with on-the-job skills and innovations in today’s rapidly changing healthcare system. You can be reimbursed for classes and exam fees, participate in professional memberships, or take Continuing Education Units (CEUs).Professional Development
Mandy Fuller, RN, UW Medicine, Valley Medical Center Mandy completed her OBRNC and her BSN degree. “Not only did taking and passing the exam give me a dollar more an hour,
but it also made me feel on par with my colleagues having these credentials.” As a service or pro/tech worker, you can be reimbursed
for classes and exams related to your job development. As an RN, you can be reimbursed for specialty nurse certification exam fees.
Up to $300 per year, per individual is available through the Professional Development program.
Tuition Assistance
Juggling a full-time job and family responsibilities can make itchallenging to return to school. Your Tuition Assistance benefit helps relieve your school-related costs so you can focus on your studies. It pays for tuition, books, and other fees for approved programs. The annual benefit amount is pro-rated for part-time employees.

Tuition Assistance

receive a variety of educational support services to help you succeed, such as tutoring and
individual case management.
