The Atlantax Tax Compliance Service Bureau provides a complete, cost effective, outsourced tax compliance service. Using our proprietary tax compliance program, TaxPac℠, Atlantax provides reliable, automated monthly processing, preparation, remittance and filing of sales, use, Utility User Tax (UUT), Right of Way (ROW) fees, Emergency Services (E911's) and excise tax returns. Additional services available include monthly federal excise tax deposits and quarterly filings, gross receipts returns and certain public utility filings.
Atlantax’s software was specifically designed to serve the tax compliance needs of telecommunications, retail, energy and manufacturing organiza-tions having tax liability in multiple state and local jurisdicorganiza-tions. The Tax-Pac℠ software platform enables Atlantax to import numerous tax data files from its clients and automatically generate sales, use and transac-tional tax returns that are acceptable to various state and local tax juris-dictions. Any transactions that require federal, state or local taxation must be taxrated – either by a company’s billing software or by an outsource vendor like Atlantax. Maintaining current and accurate tax rates is a compli-cated, expensive and never-ending task that can stress even the best of internal tax departments.
Atlantax’s Tax Rating service manages the process of determining and assigning taxes to individual taxable transactions thereby enabling the reporting and payment of tax liabilities. Our process imports the client’s transaction records, identifies tax situs and taxability then rates each indi-vidual transaction and appends the tax detail to the client’s records for billing.
The client can then import the newly appended data records into their accounting and billing software for customer invoicing and internal audit-ing. Exemption certificates are proof that a vendor did not have to collect taxes from specific customers. Your customer may be an exempt reseller or a non-profit entity, but whatever their business segment they need to pro-vide documentation to any vendor they purchase from as proof that they are not legally required to pay taxes on certain purchases. If a vendor does not maintain a valid exemption certificate for the time period when the exemption was applied, then that vendor would be required to pay the taxes to the jurisdiction during an audit.
