ACACIA Leadership Scholarship – Available to any graduation male senior who plans on attending Iowa State University. February – April 1st.

AES Engineering – Based on character as determined by written essay. October 4th deadline. American Cancer Society – Must have been Diagnosed with cancer. January – March 15th.

Andrea Struss Kirchner Scholarship – Must be pursuing a post-secondary course of study in the field of health science. February – April 1st.

American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National President’s Scholarship – Must be a child/grandchild of a veteran who served in the Armed Forces. January -March 1st.

American Legion Auxiliary #46 – Female MHS graduate with a 2.5 GPA, financial need, but not full federal aid. Family connection to the military. U.S. citizen. 1 @ $600 scholarship. MCC only. February – March 15th.

C.E. Berg Scholarship – Criteria for the selection include being an MHS senior who will attend Iowa, Northern Iowa, or Iowa State and pursue a major in computers. January – April 1st.

Beta Sigma Psi Scholarship – A Lutheran fraternity at Iowa State University awarding applicants on the basis of their scholastic achievement and active participation in their communities and churches. January – February 25th.

Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship (Only high school juniors)– This scholarship is awarded on the basis of character and with special emphasis on volunteering in school, church and community, as well as the degree of participation in the Summer and Winter Iowa Games. The scholarship can be used for any post-high school education including trade schools, community college, or four-year institution. November – May 1st.

Charlie Burkart Scholarship – The Iowa PGA Section awards a college scholarship to any graduating high school senior who is a resident within the boundaries of the Iowa PGA Section and the state of Iowa. Winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, and then on their academic ability and financial need. February – June 17th.

Christina Hixson Opportunity Awards – Applicants must be a resident of Iowa, must be admissible to Iowa State University, demonstrate financial eligibility, have faced individual challenges and/or financial hardship. Apply online at hixson@iastate.edu by February 1st.

Coca-Cola Scholarship – Applicants must be current high school seniors planning to pursue a degree at an accredited post-secondary institution and carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA. Apply online at

Consumers Energy – Dependent children of member-system consumers are eligible. Applicant must be a student enrolling in a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school. Awards are based on grade-point average, work experience, participation in school and community activities. February – April 15th.

Darryl Jahn Memorial Scholarship – Be of Lutheran faith and must be attending Iowa State. February – May 31st.

Darwin Judge Memorial Scholarship – Applicant must be a senior at Marshalltown High School, an Eagle Scout receiving his Eagle Scout Award in the Ta-Ma-Ha District with a minimum GPA 3.00. January – April 1st.

Druker Memorial Scholarship – Criteria for this scholarship is an excellent academic record, financial need, must attend a 4-year college/university, in or out of state, involvement in extracurricular activities, and

attendance at MHS for at least two years. January – April 1st.

Elks National Foundation Scholarship – The award will be given to a high school senior who is a U.S. citizen and who exhibits excellence in scholarship, leadership and shows financial need. October – December 2nd. Evangelical & Community Hospital Nurse’s Alumni Association – Student ready to begin the Associate Degee Nursing (AND) program. 2.9 GPA, financial need considered, U.S. citizen 2@ $1000. MCC ONLY. February – March 15th.

Evening Lions – Criteria for this scholarship award will be based on your volunteer service performed for school/community and financial need. February – April 1st.

Fairall Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA and must be a son, daughter, or grandchild of a member of the Armed Forces who has received an honorable discharge or is still on active duty or reserve duty. January – March 15th.

Frank Lewis Glick American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship (MCC) – Applicant must be an MHS female senior attending MCC with a 2.5 GPA and shall have a connection to someone who has served in the military. January – March 1st.

First Friday Breakfast Club – Applicant must be a resident of Iowa, pursue a post-secondary education, and be a senior who has contributed the most to reduce homophobia and increase awareness and tolerance of gay and lesbian issues in his/her school or community. December – March 31st.

Flora Davis Forman Scholarship – Eligibility is any needy MHS graduating senior who has a 3.0 GPA and who intends to pursue a post-secondary course of study. January – April 1st.

Grand Lodge of Iowa Masonic Scholarship – The principal criterion is service to school and community with special emphasis upon leadership roles in these areas. October – February 1st.

Grand Lodge of Iowa MCEC Technical Scholarship – Iowa high school seniors who plan to enroll in a mechanical or trade course of study at an accredited Iowa Community College. October – March 1st. Foundation for Rural Services – Must be sponsored by a current NTCA member. Must have at least a 2.0 GPA. February – March 1st.

Frank Pierce Trust (LOAN) – Low interest loan for eligible seniors who are residents of the Marshalltown Community School District for the last six years attending an Iowa college or university. January – May 1st. Heart of Iowa Communications Cooperative – Participants must be a senior in good standing in both the school and community going to a two or four year-accredited college or an accredited vocational school. Participant’s parents/guardians must receive communication services from the Heart of Iowa Communications Cooperative during the past six months. January – April 1st.

Herman Sani/Iowa Golf Association – Any graduating senior and resident of the State of Iowa is eligible. The student must summarize your school experience including golf, sports, other extra curricular activities,

academics, and awards. The association advises that you wait until after you have completed your senior year before mailing application as it will be incomplete and will not be considered for this scholarship if it does not contain your entire senior year transcript. February – June 29th.

Hixson Opportunity Scholarship – Must attend Iowa State. February – March 1st.

Hogeland Memorial Scholarship – The Lonnie Eugene Hogeland, Jr. scholarship is to be awarded to an MHS senior who plans to be enrolled in a post-secondary program of at least nine months in length, has a GPA 2.0, and is based on student financial need. February – April 1st.

H.S. Ostlin Memorial Scholarship – Iowa State Only. Must pursue engineering degree. February – March 1st. Hungerford Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – Criteria for this scholarship include being a senior in high school, 3.0 GPA, and studying education, law enforcement, agriculture, natural resources, or a medical field. Huss Memorial Chemistry Scholarship – Applicant must be an MHS graduate, successfully complete chemistry course(s) at MHS (preference given to those who complete multiple chemistry courses), and pursue college/university study of chemistry (preference will be given to chemistry and chemical engineering majors). January – April 1st.

Hunt Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – MHS senior with a 2.5 GPA involved in at least one of the following: band, orchestra, tennis, and YMCA/YWCA. January – February 15th.

Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship – Students are eligible for consideration if they are a high school senior working for Hy-Vee who began his/her employment on or before September 15 of the application year or are sons and daughters of full-, regular-, and part-time Hy-Vee and subsidiary associates who have a minimum of six months employment with the company as of September 15 of the application year. Applicant must be enrolling in college for the first time. October – February 10th.

Iowa Association of Building Officials Scholarship – Eligible applicants must be a resident of Iowa, graduate from an Iowa high school, enter a 4-year or a 2-year program of study in architecture, construction, or pre-engineering. April – May 24th.

Iowa Association of Naturalists – Applicant must be a resident of Iowa, attend an in-state college/university pursuing a degree in environmental education, cultural interpretation, historical interpretation or outdoor recreation. January – March 1st.

Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education – Applicants must be committed to the pursuit of automotive or truck-related studies. January – March 1st.

Iowa Broadcasters Association Scholarship (MCC) – Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time students enrolled in the Mass Media/Broadcasting Program at MCC. January – July 1st.

Iowa Newspaper Foundation Scholarship – Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic record, demonstrated talent and desire to work for an Iowa newspaper. Most of the awards are limited to students attending Iowa colleges, universities and community colleges. October – February 10th.

Iowa Pork Producers Association – Major in Ag related field with emphasis on swine production. February – April 1st.

Iowa PTA Scholarship – To be eligible for consideration an individual must be a graduating senior of an Iowa public high school, resident of the state of Iowa for one year prior to graduation, must be in a PTA district, and

attend full-time study at an Iowa college/university, Iowa vocational school, or other post high school training. Eligible persons may access an application at: http://www.iowapta.org

Iowa School of Beauty - $2500 scholarship. NO DEADLINE

Iowa State Fair Scholarship – High school seniors are eligible to apply for this scholarship if they actively participate in the Iowa State Fair (past or present), graduate from an Iowa high school, and plan to enroll at an Iowa college/university. Iowa State University Multicultural Vision Scholarship – Students interested in applying for the MVP Award must be a resident of the state of Iowa, be admissible to Iowa State University, identify as African American, Latino/A American, Asian American/Pacific Islander, or American Indian or Alaskan Native, demonstrate financial need, and have faced personal and/or financial challenges or hardships. Iowa School of Beauty – This scholarship is offered to Iowa high school applicants who wish to attend the Iowa School of Beauty (Marshalltown, IA) to complete programs in cosmetology, massage therapy, esthetics, or nail technology. November – May 1st.

Iowa Soybean Association Agricultural Scholarship – Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate

outstanding leadership among peers in an organization or the community, and seek a degree in agriculture, and be an Iowa resident. January – March 15th.

Iowa Valley Leadership Scholarship (MCC) – Applicant must be a person who has English as a second language, proof of U.S. residency or citizenship, and must live in the IVCCD area pursuing a 2-year degree or certificate at MCC. January – March 1st.

Izaak Walton League Scholarship – Applicant must be a high school graduate who is a resident of Marshall County continuing their education in an approved college/university, community college, vocational, trade or technical school in a field related to conservation or environment. January – March 15th.

James B. Morris Scholarship – Applicant must be of minority ethnic status, minimum 2.5 GPA, be a legal U.S. citizen and have a social security number. This is an online application. Apply at

Jessie Bayne Elfers Scholarship Trust – To be eligible for this award, students must be a senior attending MHS, be accepted at a 4 year IOWA college/university, demonstrate financial need, demonstrate high

scholastic ability, participate in extracurricular activities, and demonstrate high quality leadership and personal characteristics. January – April 1st.

Joe Halbur Scholarship – Student plans to further their education in programs of environmental education, cultural interpretation, historical interpretation or outdoor recreation. February – March 15th.

Keep Iowa Beautiful Scholarship – Special requirements for applicants are to be a current Iowa resident and an Iowa high school senior enrolling in an Iowa college or university with an emphasis on environmental studies, landscape architecture or architecture (historical emphasis) or community planning & sustainability. October – February 7th.

Kerr Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – Application criteria include an MHS senior pursuing a 4-year degree who has attended MCC for at least one year and has a 3.0 GPA. January – February 15th.

KFC Colonel’s Scholars – To qualify, graduating high school seniors must earn a GPA of 2.75, enroll in a public college/university within their state of legal residence, pursue a bachelor’s degree, be a US citizen, and demonstrate financial need. Online applications are available December 1 – February 8th

Knights of Columbus Scholarship – Applicants must be graduating seniors, member of a Parish served by KC Council #966, pursuing post high school formal education, 2.5 GPA, and be involved in school and community. February – April 15th.

Kwik Trip Community Scholarship – Applicants must be a high school senior, must be a accepted at an accredited college/university, 3.0 GPA, and must exemplify Kwik Trip’s mission statement: “To Make a Difference in Someone’s Life.” January – March 15th.

Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa – This scholarship is to assist students with learning disabilities (see eligibility requirements on application form) in pursuing a post-secondary education at an accredited institution. A current IEP, psychological report, or similar document with proof of a learning disability is required.

February – March 31st.

Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship – Criteria for this scholarship are as follows: must be a citizen of the State of Iowa, a graduating senior, enrolling in a college/university as a vocal music major. February – April 15th.

Loney Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – MHS senior planning to attend MCC full-time student pursuing a four-year degree maintaining a 2.0 GPA. January – February 15th.

Mark Mann Memorial Scholarship – Any Marshalltown graduating senior who was a member of either the girls’ or boys’ golf team who intends to pursue a post-secondary course of study. January – April 1st.

Marshall County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship – Applicants must be a senior in high school, a resident of Marshall County, the parents must be paid members of the Marshall County Cattlemen Association, planning on attending college majoring in the agriculture field or in the field of food and nutrition. December – January.

Marshall Count 4-H/FFA Scholarship – Must be a current, continuous and active 4-H/FFA member in Marshall County. February – April 5th.

Marshall County Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Scholarship – This scholarship is available to Farm Bureau members, sons and /or daughters pursuing the completion of two or four year agriculture and/or agribusiness degree program. January – March 1st.

Marshall County Pork Producers Scholarship – Scholarship recipients will be selected on the following basis: attend Iowa State University studying agriculture, resident of Marshall County, and demonstrating academic potential as well as good character and leadership abilities. November – January 15th.

Marshall Soil and Water Conservation Scholarship – Marshall County high school seniors who plan to pursue programs of study in any field of agriculture or natural resources. December – March 3rd.

Marshalltown Broadcasting, Inc. KFJB/KXIA Radio Scholarship (MCC) – Applicant must be enrolled in the Mass Media/Broadcasting program as a full-time student and must maintain a 3.0 GPA. January – July 1st.

Marshalltown Community College Scholarship – This applications qualifies you for most MCC scholarships. February – March 1st.

Marshalltown Education Association Scholarship – Applicant’s parent must be a current member of the Marshalltown Education Association with a 3.0 GPA. January – April 1st.

Marshalltown Evening Lions Club – Criteria for this scholarship award will be based on your volunteer service performed for school/community and financial need. February – April 15th.

Marshalltown Men’s Chorus Music Scholarship – Male graduate who will be attending an Iowa school and majoring in the field of music. February – April 1st.

Marshalltown Police Fraternal Order of Police Scholarship – The following criteria shall apply for all applicants: student must be a resident of Marshall County graduating high school and must have been accepted to a community college or an accredited college/university. Preference will be given to those who are pursuing a criminal justice degree or a related field. April 1st – May 15th.

Masonry Institute of Iowa – Interested in a career in masonry, construction, design, engineering or architecture. February – April 15th.

Mass Media/Broadcasting Scholarship – Must be enrolled in the Broadcast Technology Program at MCC. July 1st deadline.

Master Gardner Scholarship – Applicants must be a graduating senior of a Marshall County high school attending an Iowa college/university/community college as a full-time student majoring in horticulture, floriculture, landscape horticulture, nursery & garden center management, green house production, urban/community forestry, and turf grass science & management. February – April 20th.

Matins Kiwanis Scholarship – Available to any senior at MHS. January – March 28th.

Matthew Shepard Scholarship – A scholarship for distinguished Iowa high school students who are openly gay or lesbian and attending an Iowa Board of Regents university. Apply online at

www.eychanerfoundation.org January – March 31st.

MCEC Technical Scholarship – Senior who plans to enroll in a mechanical or trade course of study at an accredited Iowa Community College. Deadline to apply is March 1.

MEA Scholarship – Must be a child of MEA member. February – April 5th.

Mediacom Scholarship – Applicants must be a senior in high school, a legal resident of Iowa attending any accredited two-year or four-year college, university, technical or vocational school within the U.S. October – February 15th.

Morning Optimist Scholarship – Applicant must be a senior in high school, accepted at a 2-year/4-year institution accredited by the Iowa State Board of Regents, must have a 2.0 GPA, and a Marshall County resident. February – April 15th.

PCI Academy Scholarship – Every year one scholarship up to $3,000 is available to each Iowa to each Iowa high school for cosmetology, massage, esthetics or nail technology. October – November 30th.

Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship – Each recipient of the scholarship must be of the Protestant faith, a resident of the State of Iowa, and a full-time student at the University of Iowa who chooses a career in banking. October – May 1st.

Phyllis Perry Hulton Educational Trust Scholarship – The main stipulations are that the recipient must have graduated from a high school located in Marshall County. February – April 1st.

Pilkington Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – Preference for this scholarship will be given to an MHS senior with a 2.67 GPA with a pre-engineering major. January – February 15th.

Robert D. Blue Scholarship – Applicant must be an Iowa resident planning to attend an Iowa

college/university. Applications are accepted online only at: www.rdblue.org February – May 10th.

Ronald Meech Memorial (MCC) – Recipient must be the daughter or son of a former or current Marshalltown firefighter, must have earned a 2.0 GPA in prior school work, and shows financial need. January – March 1st. Rotary Foundation Scholarship – Scholarship may be awarded to any senior student attending Marshalltown High School (except students of Rotarians) who continue their education in an approved college/university, community college, vocational, trade/technical school in the state of Iowa. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of scholarship, citizenship and need. January – April 15th.

Third District American Legion Auxiliary Merit Award – American Legion member or son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of member. January – March 15th .

United Auto Workers Scholarship (MCC) – Applicant must be the daughter/son of a UAW, Local #893 member and enrolled full-time at Marshalltown Community College. January – March 1st.

United Methodist Church Peace Essay – Must answer the question “The Best Response For Our Government When It Sees Human Rights Violations Taking Place in a Foreign Country. February – March 22nd.

United State JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship – Each year $1,000 grants will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. They must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. October – January 6th.

VEISHEA Community Involvement Scholarship – Must be planning to attend Iowa State with a minimum GPA of 3.0, exhibit dedication towards volunteering in the community. December – February 14th.

VEISHEA Leadership Scholarship – Open to seniors who will be attending Iowa State University, rank in the upper 15% of class, have an ACT of 26, exhibit involvement in high school and community activities,

particularly in leadership positions. December – February 14th.

Venture Scholarship (MCC) – Applicant must be an MHS senior who does not qualify for other scholarships, planning to enroll at MCC as a full-time student, and must maintain a 2.0 GPA. January – February 15th. Vietnam Veteran’s Scholarship – Family member of a Vietnam veteran. February – April 25th.

Warrington Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – Applicant must be a Marshall county high school graduate majoring in agriculture or health occupations full-time plus have a 2.20 GPA. January – March 1st.

Winter Dance Party Scholarship – Graduating senior of an Iowa high school enrolling in a college/university as a music major. January – April 15.
