DO YOU WANT TO EARN WHILE YOU LEARN?
How much will I get paid?
The current National Minimum Wage for apprentices in the first year of their Apprenticeship is £2.65 per hour, however, many apprentices earn significantly more than that.
What are the entry requirements?
To be an apprentice you must be:•
Aged 16 or over
•
Currently living in England
What is involved in an Apprenticeship?
You will need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week and attend college one day per week.Your questions answered...
Apprenticeships are a great route into employment and a career. You can learn valuable skills whilst working in the real world gaining hands on experience and getting paid. At SRC we offer a wide range of Apprenticeship opportunities at Level 2 and Level 3.
Q
Become an Apprentice...
A
“
I’ve been doing my Apprenticeship
since I left school and it’s great. I’ve
enjoyed it so much that I’ve got my
brother Daniel involved and he’s
doing an Apprenticeship now, too.
The sense of achievement of seeing a
job through from start to finish is
great. Getting out there and getting
some experience has been brilliant;
if you’re thinking about an
Apprenticeship, go for it as it’s well
worth all of the hard work.

“
I talked to SRC’s advisors, Keith and Carol,
about my need for a change. Taking into account my
interests and skills, they suggested a career as a social
worker and got me started on SRC’s Access to HE course so
I could eventually go on to study a social work course at university.
”
Kendra Godard, Access to Social Sciences and Humanities

I wanted to do
something totally
different, a subject
where I had to think
and engage my mind!
