Welcome to Sandnes – The Norwegian City of Cycling

It is with great pleasure that the Norwegian Cycling Federation once again invites you to an

international competition in Sandnes - Norway. This year we are hosting the 11th and 12th round of the European Championship for junior/elite classes, and the European Championship for the 13+ challenge classes. This event will be hosted by the local clubs Sandnes BMX, Sviland BMX and Sola BMX. We will do our very best to present a professional race combined with a pleasant atmosphere for the riders as well as for visitors and spectators.

We do hope that as many riders as possible will participate in this event and we look forward to seeing you all in Sandnes.

Competition classes:

European challenge categories:

- Girls: G13, G14, G15, G16 and Women 17+

- Boys: B13, B14, B15, B16, Men 17-24, Men 25-29, Men 30+ and 30+ Masters - Cruiser: CR13-14, CR15-16, CR17-24, CR25-29, CR30-39, CR40-44 and CR45+ It takes at least five riders to constitute a class.

Championship categories:

Junior Women & Junior Men 20 inch / Elite Women & Elite Men 20 inch Junior Women & Junior Men Cruiser / Elite Women & Elite Men Cruiser

The age determination in the above series will be according to the UCI age determination system. According to this system the age of a rider is determined by the age the rider will reach in that particular year.

Registration:

In order to enter the competition, you must enroll through your national federations. The entry forms must be returned to the following address by email:

- Elite Men and Elite Women 57 € pr. round

- Junior Men and Junior Women 35 € pr. round

- All challenge/cruiser: 27 € pr. round

Registrations after the deadline will be charged twice its cost.

A Federation (and only the Federation) can cancel riders until the Wednesday at 8 am before the event. They will not have to pay for this registration. If they do not show up at the event and do not cancel participation in due time, entry fee will have to be paid.

Number plates:

Riders will race with the following number plates and number colour combinations according to UCI Rules 2010.

All riders must also bear a lateral white plate with their black race number on both sides. Size of numbers 80 mm high, 10 mm wide.

All riders competing in the UEC European BMX Challenge 2010 must have the national flag of their country on both shoulders. Size on both shoulders must be at least 7X6 cm wide.

Spaces in the competitor’s area:

Spaces will be allocated to National Teams, Trade Teams and Club Teams registered with the UEC in the competitor’s area at a cost of 100 Euros. You may book this space by emailing s.birkeland@lyse.net before June 30th 2010. The organizer can provide a tent at additional cost.

Food, drinks and refreshments

Prior to and during the event a variety of food, hot and cold, drinks and refreshments will be offered at the track. At night, after the competition, you will have the opportunity to by a proper hot meal in our service tent close to the track at a reasonable cost.

By placing the track in the middle of a town centre we can really show our sport. And we make it a lot easier for people and families to come and enjoy the event.

The campsite is located 1,2 km. from the BMX-track on one large and one small gravel surfaced football ground (10 min walking distance/3min cycling distance).

Important notice:

At 18:00 hrs on Saturday afternoon there is a football match at the stadium (football green top left corner on the map). This will possibly cause noise from the arena and occupation of all parking lots in the surroundings (also in front of the sports hall). As this match is going on parallel to the BMX-finals down town, we have considered this to be a manageable disturbance. We would however inform you so you may take this into consideration for your stay.
