Course Overview for the

International Business Management, 180 credits

Programme code: SEV25

Valid for the academic year 2013/2014

This is a translation of the original course overview in Swedish which has been examined and approved by the School of Business, Society and Engineering, 2013-02-01.

About the course overview

Each study programme has a set programme syllabus in which, among other things, all courses included in the programme are stated, divided into semesters. The programme syllabus is complemented annually with a course overview in which is stated the study period the course is given, in which campus city it is given, whether it collides with another course etc. The course overview is valid for one academic year at a time.

Courses belonging to the disciplinary domain for a degree have been marked with an “X” in the column HO.

In the column Level/Specialisation, the level of the course is stated (first-cycle or second-cycle level), along with the progressive specialisation within the level. The initial letter in the designation indicates whether the course is part of a programme at first-cycle level (G) or second-cycle level (A). After this the specialisation within each respective level (1 or 2) is stated. The final letter in the designation indicates the entry requirements for the course and whether the course includes a degree project. Please contact your Study Adviser for more information. K1, K2 etc. in the study period columns refer to the timetable positions and show whether the courses collide or not. Courses with the same K value collide, and courses with different K values do not collide. Courses with the “X” value may collide with other courses within the study period. ”pg” indicates that you have guaranteed admission to the course for that particular study period and that programme semester. ”comp” indicates that you are applying in competition with all the other programme students at MDH. ”E” indicates that the course is given in Eskilstuna and “V” that it is given in Västerås.

In the column “Overlapping courses” are indicated courses which wholly or partly overlap with the course in question on that row. If you have read overlapping courses you may only count overlapping credits once in a degree. An “X” in the column means that there are no overlapping courses. Please contact your Study Adviser for more information.

2 During the course of your education you may be given the opportunity to choose courses within the programme. The choice must be made no later than 15 April before the autumn semester and 15 October for the spring semester. Before these choices are made the host School will provide information about the various choices and how to go about choosing.

When you make your choices you should always base these on the programme syllabus together with the degree requirements for the degree you wish to obtain. Please contact your Study Adviser for more information.

To be able to be admitted to a course you must always fulfil the specific entry requirements stated in the course syllabus, regardless of whether you have guaranteed admission or not. For more information about choices of courses within a programme, see MDH’s web page “Current Student” (Application and Admission). See also the local System of Qualifications which contains all the qualification descriptors.

Other information

Depending on the number of applicants for the individual courses, some courses may be cancelled. You should therefore indicate alternative options when choosing your courses..
