Ewan Wilson, Principal Consultant PhD, BSc (Civil Eng), MAusIMM, RPEQ
Ewan Wilson has over 34 years’ experience in water resources consultancy to clients in the
mining (coal & metalliferous), coal seam gas, industrial, public water supply, aid and agricultural
sectors in Australia, Africa, Asia and North and South America. His technical experience includes
hydraulic design, hydrology and project management support to all key stages of mining project
development, from exploration through to post-closure. He is a regular contributor to due diligence reviews on mine water management. He has facilitated on-site water risk and efficiency audit
workshops in Australia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and the USA.
John Chapman, Principal Consultant MSc & BSc (Chemical Engineering)
John Chapman has more than 26 years of relevant experience and has developed
multi-disciplinary skills relating to mining environmental impacts assessment and environmental
controls. He is a recognised expert in ARD assessment and prediction, mine waste
characterisation and management, and mine closure with recent project experience in Australia, South East Asia, Canada, USA and Europe. John has facilitated enterprise-wide risk assessment workshops, undertaken due diligence and environmental risk assessments for a wide range of mining projects.
Luke Esprey, Senior Consultant
PhD, MSc (Hydrology), BSc Hons, MAusIMM
Luke Esprey has 16 years’ experience with consulting to clients in the mining, agricultural,
silvicultural and urban sectors. His specific experience includes environmental assessment, water resources, catchment management and land use analysis. He has a background in GIS and hydrology and has completed several major flood studies for resources projects in areas prone to extreme rainfall events. He is a regular contributor on hydrology to due diligence reviews in the
mining sector. In addition, Luke has extensive experience in mine closure and rehabilitation where his expertise is in closure legislation, planning, and post-mining hydrology and land use.
Juanita Martin, Principal Consultant
MEng (Water Resources), BEng (Civil), MIEAust, MAusIMM
Juanita Martin has more20 years’ experience in design, coordination and supervision of projects for the mining and civil industry. Her experience includes conceptual through to detailed design. Her key areas of expertise are in water management for mining infrastructure – channels, ponds,
culverts, spillways; the design of embankments for tailings and dams, storage capacity evaluation, water balance and hydrology studies, catchment areas and basin characteristics, climatic
evaluation and determination of storm events.
David Whiting, Principal Consultant
MSc (Hydrogeology and Groundwater Management), BAppSc Hons (Geology and Environment Studies), MAusIMM, MIAH
David Whiting has over 15 years’ experience in conducting and managing groundwater investigations
for mining, gas and civil infrastructure projects.The studies are in mine groundwater control, rock mass depressurisation, water supply, subsurface investigations for impoundment structures and environment impact assessment. Environmental hydrogeological assessments include
