Election observation and electoral assistance have increasingly become accepted tools around the world, playing an important role in promoting democracy by providing accurate assessment about the nature of electoral processes.
Election observation primarily assesses the conduct of an election process on the basis of national legislation and international standards. It looks at the entire electoral process over a longer period of time, rather than at electionday proceedings only.
Electoral assistance encompasses the legal, technical and logistic support provided to electoral
laws, processes and institutions.

Everyweekaunitwillstart,whichwilllastfortwoweeks.Everyunithasitsown lecturer.Everyunitandeverymodulehavetheirowndiscussionforums.Unlikemost onlinecourses,therewillbeanextrateacherinchargeoffacilitatingtheforum discussions,whichwillenhancethecoherenceandcontinuityofthecurriculum.Each participantwillalsohaveapersonaltutor.Students’performancewillbeassessed:by module,byanoverallcourseparticipationappraisalandbyfinalassignmentevaluation.
