At its best Lappish mentality concentrates on doing things diligently and calmly, combined with just a handful of madness and looking at the world from one’s own perspective. Guests are welcomed with genuine warmth and listened to wisely. This northern way of life creates real ideas and individual innovations created with well-founded self-respect.

It is with this same spirit the Lapland Vocational College operates and develops. We know the people of our region and our common resources. We are well aware that going solo and being arrogant is not the way forward. In all our activities we are committed to enhance expertise and develop companies in Lapland for the benefit of all.

We are all individuals, so we all learn in different ways. We believe that everyone has their own path – one that feels right and provides experiences of success.

The formula for success incorporates the ability to co-operate, as put simply, things go better when working together. An open-minded attitude and honest dialogue will aid progression even in the most difficult of situations. Here at the Lapland Vocational College we want to be aware of which directions need to be taken in the field. In this way we are able to quickly react to the educational needs of the region and anticipate the future. Creativity begins from a sincere willingness to revise and exchange perspectives.

We keep our doors open to the outside world. International partnership projects and student exchanges facilitate new experiences and viewpoints. An integral part of our activities is to help those arriving to Finland and Lapland to become acclimatised and locate the places that best suit. Our courses cater to people of all ages and all cultures coming to Lapland.
