STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMS CREPUQ - UQAM

The following document contains a list of the programs that have established specific admission criteria. The programs are listed first by level of study (undergraduate and postgraduate) and then alphabetically. In this way exchange students can find all the necessary and pertinent information to verify their admissibility at UQAM according to their desired program.

CHOICE OF PROGRAM

 Some UQAM programs are not open to exchange students. Be certain to choose a curriculum that is part of the list of academic programs open to students outside Quebec (Programmes d’études ouverts aux étudiants hors Québec) or your application will be rejected. The list of open programs is available on the CREPUQ website.

 The candidate must identify only one program of studies from a list of programs open to students from outside Quebec. This list can be found on the CREPUQ website.  The candidate must then select courses from within the identified program. An

application containing a course selection that does not conform to the program will be rejected.

 Candidates must continue their studies at their home University in a discipline related to their program at UQAM.

 Certain programs have limited enrolment for exchange students. Please take note of the list of these programs in the present document.

 Certain programs are unable to accept students for the winter semester only. Other programs can only accept candidates for the fall semester or for the entire academic year only. Be sure to consider this when choosing your program at UQAM.

 Students who are accepted only for the winter semester at UQAM must respect the calendar and arrive in Montreal before the semester begins.

 Certain Master’s programs require 16 years of schooling before participating in an exchange program with UQAM. The list of these programs can be found at the end of this document.

COURSE SELECTION

Candidates must use the course selection form (formulaire de choix de cours) which can be found on the CREPUQ website.

The student must select courses from only one academic program and at only level (undergraduate or post-graduate):

 Program title and code

 Example : baccalauréat en études littéraires (7872)

The exchange student can only select courses from the academic program he or she has applied to.

All courses identified as ateliers (workshops), stages (internships) or séminaires d’intégration (seminars) or projet de mémoire (thesis project) are not offered to exchange students.

Information on curriculum, course descriptors and class schedules are available online on the website of the Registrar of UQAM :

http://www.etudier.uqam.ca/programmes

It is possible to search by program (using the program code) and then find the list of courses in the program you want.

Scheduling information for fall courses will be available in January and winter courses in July.

Course selection must respect the student exchange contract which stipulates that candidates must be registered full-time;

The number of courses and/or credits required to be considered a full-time student is:

Undergraduate programs (certificates or Bachelor’s) : 12 credits, generally four courses of three credits;

Graduate programs (Master’s, DESS or Doctorate): a minimum of 6 credits, generally two courses of three credits ;

 It is strongly recommended to select a few additional courses from the designated program in case of a scheduling conflict, a course not being offered during the chosen semester, or other.

Each course selected must contain the following information: the course code, number and title:
