Overcoming Evil Scripture Readings Overcoming Evil with Good
Romans 12:17-21 Erin Singer
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him, if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head" Proverbs 25:21,22
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Overcoming Evil with Good
Philippians 1:12-14 Del Sorenson
Now I want you to know brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and are all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear
Overcoming Evil with Good
Luke 23:33-35 Kay Drake
When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along the criminals - one on his right, the other his left. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is God's Messiah, the Chosen One".
Overcoming Evil with Good
Genesis 50:15-21 Bob Enriquez When Joseph's brother saw their father was dead they said, "What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?" So they sent word to Joseph, saying "Your father left
these instruction instructions before he died: 'This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brother the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.' Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father." When their message came to him, Joseph wept....But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children." And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.

CHURCH AT SUN VILLAGE IN ACTION – A
WARM WELCOME
It is our privilege to worship the Lord our God freely without intimidation or fear of opposition. The psalmist exhorts, “Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms…Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.”
Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all those who are celebrating in the month of
January.
Thank You - All members and friends of Sun Village Community Church offer our Thanks to Chef Peter
of Chef Peter's Bistro for his continuing assistance to the church. Please continue to support him while
he keeps Chef Peter's Bistro open and available to Sun Village.

Missions – White Fields
Steve Wheeler
A few years ago, Pastor Solomon moved to a mountain region where there were no Christians and few had ever heard of Jesus Christ. Now he is leading a growing congregation and the youth in the church are actively sharing their faith with their community.
When you truly believe something, you will defend it and prove it to anyone willing to listen. Even when you are facing persecution from other people, you will still share if you genuinely believe. We watch this happen among our pastors regularly. In Myanmar, eighty-five percent of the population are Buddhists. Some of those people are merely following the religion that they grew up hearing from their parents, some are zealous and persecute our churches..

Persecuted Church -World
01/19/2021 The Voice of Martyrs
Last September, a mob of more than 600 Hindus vandalized the homes and properties of 84 Christians in the Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh state, India, driving the Christians into the jungle. After the attacks, the Hindus set up a tent on a main highway to cook and eat the chicken and rice stolen from the Christians' homes.
After the displaced women and children were relocated to other villages, VOM supplied them with essentials such as cooking pots and blankets. The children also received aid packs that included backpacks and children's Bibles.
When a VOM worker met with some of the Christians recently, one told him, "Being a human I was filled with anger, but I was reminded that Jesus taught us to forgive our enemy. I know some of the people who were part of the angry crowd but I prayed and forgave them."
Hindu nationalist and extremist groups actively oppress Christians seeking to "purify" India by making it an entirely Hindu nation. Many Christians,
like those in Kondagaon, are displaced from their homes as a result of Hindu extremism. Their churches are demolished, their worship gatherings are disrupted and their Bibles are confiscated and burned. Many pastors have been beaten and jailed, and Christians are often falsely charged with "forcing" Hindus to convert to Christianity. Amid this hostility, Christians in India often droop charges against their attackers show forgiveness as a witness for Christ.
Please pray for Christians in India who are suffering for their faith in Christ.
World, National, and State Concerns
Pray for protection, and for containment of the
Corona virus (COVID-19).
Pray for our nation’s leaders, that they would have
wisdom in how to deal with the virus.
Pray for medical professionals, that God would guide and protect them as they treat those affected. Pray for our brothers and sisters whose businesses
and job stability might be affected.
Pray especially for those who are the most
vulnerable to the effects of the virus.
Pray for the office of the President and for a peaceful transition to the next 4 year term. These are critical days for our nation.
Pray earnestly for a revival in this land, that Christians will boldly take a stand for their Christian beliefs. Pray that those who attempt to impose restrictions on us that are contrary to the Law of God are stopped.
Pray for our National and State legislators. Pray for the congress as they deal with critical issues facing our nation. Pray for all those who are in
leadership over the political matters facing our national, state, and local governments.
Pray for those in Law Enforcement throughout the country. Pray for God’s intervention to stop the constant attacks against police and those charged with keeping law and order.
Pray for protection of our troops as they serve around the world to keep and maintain peace. Pray for wisdom for those who provide leadership for military operations.
Please join us in welcoming Sharon Brandt as a full member of Community Church at Sun Village. We are truly blessed to have another soul dedicated to Christ sharing in worship and praise and fellowship.
