What’s New

This is a minor release including support for Revit 2021, TruSpace improvements and some UX improvement to fitters.

Support for Revit 2021

With the release of CloudWorx 2020.0.1 for Revit, the software is now compatible with Autodesk Revit Architecture, MEP and Structure version 2021.

Support for LGS in multiple documents

With the release of CloudWorx 2020.0.1 for AutoCAD, users can now open multiple AutoCAD documents, each with one LGS file, simultaneously. The LGS files may be the same or different per document. Users may still only open a single LGS file per document.

Improved TruSpace Measuring

With this release, users will now experience a consistent measurement interface across CloudWorx TruSpace, JetStream Viewer and Cyclone REGISTER 360. To activate the new measurement tool:

1. Select the Measure icon from the top tool bar

2. Select two points in the TruSpace

3. Your measurement will be displayed with the coordinate of each point and the overall distance and point deltas.

(4)

TruSpace Settings

With this release, settings for TruSpace tools have been clustered into a Settings menu to simplify the toolbar and consolidate similar functions. To access Settings:

1. Select the Settings button from the toolbar 2. You can change the following settings:

a. Setup Radius b. Temperature Units c. Distance Units

2

(5)

Settings are applied at a project level and apply to viewing within the navigation pane as well as to Snapshots and Markups. Settings are saved and preserved for subsequent sessions until changed by the user.

Flange and Steel previews

When selecting a family within the Fit Flange and Fit Steel tools, users will now be presented with a preview of the family they are selecting to aid picking and reduce the likelihood of incorrect selection.

New pipe catalog

When working with the Fit Pipe tool, users will now be presented with a catalog of Revit pipe families rather that the Cyclone pipe catalog to support simple placement of Revit-native objects.

(6)

Fit columns between levels

When using the Fit Column tool, users can now select a top level to constrain the column. Additionally, both the top and base levels support offsets. This change allows users to limit the amount of manual editing that needs to be done after placing a column; particularly in instances in which sparse points along a column’s scanned surface makes model fitting difficult.

To fit a column using levels and offsets:

1. Select Fit Column from the fitters menu

2. Adjust your settings

a. Select a Maximum allowable error b. Select a Family

i. Round Column ii. Square Column

c. Select SelectLevel to define the lower plane to fit the column to d. Select Top Level to define the upper plane to fit the column to

i. Levels are set within a Revit drawing prior to inserting modeled objects. Please refer to Revit help for instructions on setting Levels.

e. Set a Base Offset which will raise the base of your column off the selected level. f. Set a Top Offset which will lower the top of your column from the selected top level. g. Select OK

3. Select your column in the CAD window or TruSpace

1 a 6 b 6 c 6 d 6 e 6 f 6 g

(7)

4. A dialog will appear that prompts the user to accept the suggested type

5. If the type is not a close enough fit, click the Create new type check box a. Define name and size of the new type

b. A new entry will be created in the family and the new type will now appear in the list for future column fitting

c. Select OK and the column will be placed.

(8)

Fit Doors with Levels

When using the Fit Door tool, doors will now automatically be placed on the level of the wall the door is being fit to, reducing the need to adjust objects after initial placement.

Fit Windows with Levels

When using the Fit Window tool, windows will now automatically be placed on the level of the wall the door is being fit to, reducing the need to adjust objects after initial placement.

Bug Fixes

UX Bugs

▪ Corrected a bug which resulted in sparse point density in floorplan view.

▪ Corrected a bug which prevented the Set level at Point command from activating as expected. ▪ Improved notifications about prohibited characters in Revit Family types.

▪ Improved stability of connecting pipes when metric units are present in the project. ▪ The fit column tool now works with a single click.

▪ Improved reporting when a fit object is out of the minimum-maximum range for a newly created type.

▪ Improved results of door and window fitting on existing walls when “Create appropriate wall before fitting” option is also selected.

▪ Corrected a bug which caused the full file path to appear as the project name.

▪ Corrected a bug which could prevent levels from being respected when using the Limit Box tool. ▪ Improved stability of fitting U-shaped steel members from the Chinese steel catalog.

▪ Users can now use the Clipping Box tool when in 2D viewing mode to support clipping in Elevation or Plan views.

Leica CloudWorx 2020.0.1 Compatibility and Upgrades

Upgrading to Leica CloudWorx 2020.0.1 for Revit from Leica CloudWorx 2020.0.0 for Revit You must have Administrator-level privileges on your workstation to correctly install LeicaCloudWorx software.

If using IMP data, first run the current Cyclone installer if you do not have a version of Cyclone installed. Otherwise/Next run the CloudWorx 2020.0.1 installer and follow the directions to proceed with the installation. Please heed the warning message about compatibility of earlier version databases. We strongly recommend that users not use the “Repair” option when upgrading. Rather, users should select “Remove” when it appears and then run the setup again to install the new version.

Compatibility with Leica CloudWorx 2020.0.1 for Revit AND Revit Versions

CloudWorx 2020.0.1 for Revit officially supports Autodesk Revit Architecture, MEP and Structure versions 2016-2021.

Compatibility with JetStream Enterprise

CloudWorx 2020.0.1 for Revit is compatible with JetStream Enterprise 1.3 and higher. To access the latest features, it is recommended that users update to the latest release of JetStream Enterprise 2020.

Compatibility with CloudWorx Ultimate

CloudWorx 2.1.5 (or later) for Revit is compatible with the CloudWorx Ultimate License.

Known Issues

Installing CLM while JetStream service is running

During installation of CLM, users may encounter the following error message. This is commonly due to a service like JetStream running in the background.

(10)

To enable the successful installation of CLM, please follow these steps: ▪ Launch the task manager

▪ Select the Services tab

▪ Look up the process with the PID (Process ID) shown in the Close applications dialog

▪ In this case it is JetStream

▪ Terminate the process so that CLM can be installed

▪ After CLM is installed, click on the Services button in the Task Manager and restart the service

Switching JetStream server with JetStream project open

CloudWorx does not support switching JetStream servers while a JetStream project is open. Upon attempting this action, the user will receive a message which states, “You already have a CloudWorx project open.” Users should close the active project before switching JetStream servers.

Equivalent user permissions requirement

When working with IMP data, Revit must be run with the same level of user privileges as Cyclone was originally configured with. Meaning if Cyclone is configured to Run As Administrator, then Revit should be Run As Administrator to connect to Cyclone and open an IMP.

TruSpace HDS Auto-Brightness

In certain scenarios, the auto brightness setting for HDR images in TruSpace will not re-activate after being turned off and the brightness being manually adjusted. The workaround is to pan around the scene prior to re-engaging brightness or adjust the brightness to the highest level then re-engage auto-brightness.

LGS usage over network

The use of LGS files is only officially supported when the files are saved locally. Due to variations between network deployments LGS files may be unreliable when hosted in a network location.

Licensing

All users with a currently valid CCP, or with CCP valid as late as 25 January 2020, can run this new version with no new license required.
