Bridging Systems with Information

In today’s global marketplace, data management

through information systems is an integral part of getting things done. These systems are at the core of healthcare, science, government, community, and independent business processes.

The MSIS is an applied program of study that combines topics from the fields of computer science, software engineering, and management. Students learn how to effectively apply computing technology to business problems.

Students have the option of two distinctive tracks:

a technology track or a management track. Both options, while distinct, cover three areas of study: software life cycle, information technology management, and business strategic management.

onmouth University’s School of Science and the Leon Hess Business School have come together to create a new master’s program designed to place successful graduates in the information system management sector. This 30-credit degree in Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) integrates information technology and business studies to produce students capable of entering the IT sector at a management level.

As information systems become more complex and technology expands its capabilities globally, the skills required for information systems professionals continue to increase. Students graduating with an MSIS degree will possess the skills needed to take on responsible positions as well as serve as mentors to others.

Students in the MSIS program benefit from learning valuable skills required for twenty-first-century business needs. By using a combination of hybrid and hands-on learning, faculty will reinforce business and technology concepts so graduates are prepared to handle complex workplace environments. In order for graduates to be qualified for operationally oriented organizations, they will take classes in entrepreneurship, logistics, managing the workforce, and project management.
