We offer a complete line of auto and home products that take advantage of the latest scientific breakthroughs. But perhaps the greatest feature of our products is that they are easily demonstrated in thirty seconds or less.
DRI WASH 'n GUARD® Waterless Carwash™ is a combination car wash, polish and protective glaze which can be applied directly to any dirty surface on a car without the use of water. It contains no waxes, Silicone or Teflon, nor is it simply a polish.
DRI WASH 'n GUARD® is a non-abrasive formula, combining a complex range of ingredients that work together to soften even the smallest dirt particles on contact and cocoon them in a microscopic 'jelly bean'.
As the 'jelly bean' containing the dirt is wiped away, it leaves a long lasting 'deep' sheen and enhanced paint protection, which includes a UV sunscreen.
Not only is it great on your vehicle, you should see the amazing results on your mirrors, bench tops, windows, shower screens, wall tiles, gold, silver and every non porous surface in your home!

Introduction
Professional automotive detailing is a multi-billion dollar industry that has been listed by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the fastest growing home-based businesses today. With more and more consumers keeping their vehicles longer, there is an ever-growing need for quality detailing services. This manual is designed to guide you through the steps of starting and maintaining a professional mobile detailing service. Although nothing can replace the knowledge gained from years of experience, we will guide you through a systematic method to begin your own successful detailing business.
In this manual, we will concentrate on what we call 'niche' detailing. There are car washes that advertise auto detailing for cut rate prices where they will wash your car, apply wax, vacuum the interior, wipe down the dash, and clean tyres. Then there are the professional high-end detail shops that can prepare a car for a show and the concourse. Please note that a vehicle will look far better when cleaned and treated with DWG®. Be aware that major awards have been received and are being received every week for cars treated with DWG® products. Today, we will concentrate on what we call basic but yet 'niche' detailing service a quality far superior than any other conventional detail, yet affordable for customers to take advantage of.
Now, let's get started.

Recommended locations for business
Since your detailing service is mobile, your market is wherever you are. It is recommended that you begin in an area that you are familiar with. If you spread out over too wide an area, you will find your profit being consumed by fuel and time required to get to these places.
Be patient, you will find that by concentrating on a specific area, you will gain trust of those in the community and eventually begin to expand as your business grows.

insects from the front of vehicles or stain, ink and wine from carpet and clothing, is done with ease.
Detailing Tips & Tricks
When detailing, it is recommended that you remove jewellery such as rings, watches, etc that could come into contact with the vehicle. Also be careful of belt buckles and other objects that could damage a vehicle’s surface.
Dri Wash 'n Guard® Ultra-ION™ Waterless Carwash™ is extremely versatile; it can be used on metal, glass and any painted surface. It is a superior detailing product for cars, RVs, boats, motorcycles, aeroplanes, trucks, bicycles... the list goes on. Unlike conventional car wash and waxes, Dri Wash 'n Guard® is extremely easy to use, requires less effort and the results outlast and outperform anything else in the world.
The following information is recommended by Professional Detailers who use Dri Wash 'n Guard® in their businesses.
Waterless Detailing Exterior Vehicle Paint
Where to Start:
For best results and ease and comfort, we recommend placing the vehicle in the shade away from direct sunlight. Begin cleaning the roof of the vehicle, (the exception being convertible tops), then move downward, doing the hood and boot, then the sides. Using this technique, you will apply Dri Wash 'n Guard® to the least dirty areas of the vehicle first and cleaning the dirtiest areas last. Since DWG® products use terry towels for cleaning, your cleaning towels will stay cleaner longer.
Applying Dri Wash 'n Guard® Ultra-Ion™
on the white cloth as you are working. Dri Wash 'n Guard® forms a haze as you apply it, continue to work the product onto the surface until the haze is almost gone. You do not need to use hard pressure. The product does the work for you. If you find a spot that is hard to remove, add a little more product.
Allowing the haze to form is very important, it is at this stage that all the ingredients work together to remove dirt and start to form a protective bond. As the application towel becomes dirty, fold it over and use a clean section. For comprehensive up to date and correct application of Ultra-Ion™ refer to the Rod Yanke’s downloadable sound file from www.driwash.com.au.
Information About Terry Cloth Towels
Terry cloth is very absorbent, this is why it works well with Dri Wash 'n Guard®. Dirt is literally absorbed into the terry cloth after Dri Wash 'n Guard® lifts it from the surface of the vehicle. The terry cloth towels should be clean prior to use, however, avoid using fabric softener and bleach on the towels. The towels do not have to be expensive, but they should be 100% cotton, and avoid towels with special trim or binding that may not be made of cotton. Terry cloth is very important in the application process, do not substitute other types of cloths, even if they are clean. A typical size vehicle will require one terry cloth towel to complete the entire clean, polish and sealing process. To help make your work a little easier, you can construct a "KwikPad" by wrapping a strip of terry cloth around a sponge.
Wipe Down and Shine
Use a DWG® Buffing Towel to remove the Dri Wash 'n Guard® Ultra-Ion™ haze. Excessive pressure is not required, just a thorough wiping to remove the excess product.
Tips and Tricks for Exterior Vehicle Paint Detailing
* Aim the Dri Wash 'n Guard® spray onto the "middle" of the surface you are cleaning, avoiding
cracks, crevices and edges. This will prevent over-spray from getting into seams and other areas that are difficult to access.
* If Dri Wash 'n Guard® Ultr-Ion™ gets on rubber moulding, in the window areas, boot, or under
the hood, wipe it down thoroughly. For areas that are difficult to access, such as door jams and creases, wet the application towel with a spray of Dri Wash 'n Guard® and then apply the product with the towel or use a soft bristle brush. This technique works well for grills, edges of lights and areas where body moulding and sheet metal come together.
* Streaking occurs occasionally due to humidity, contamination of terry cloth towel by other
products, or excess residue from old wax, silicone or cleaners that were applied previously. To remove the streaking, apply Ultra-Ion™ using a clean terry cloth towel and wipe over the streak lightly. Buff with a DWG® Buffing Towel and the streak will be removed.
* Towels are re-usable. Use a washing machine on regular cycle to wash the towels and avoid
fabric softener and bleach. We recommend washing the towels separately from other laundry.
* Use a separate cotton terry cloth towel to apply DWG® Ultra-Ion™ to your rims and a separate
cotton terry cloth towel to your vehicle’s duco. This ensures that the towel used for your duco stays cleaner and usable for longer.
* Although white is the best colour for towels, any colour will do, but ensure that the towels are
100% cotton.
Waterless Detailing Tyre Treatment
Applying DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment:
onto the tyres, if you are careful to avoid over-spray, otherwise, spray DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment onto a terry cloth towel or use a ‘kwik-pad’ that has terry cloth wrapped around a piece of sponge. The first few applications of DWG® Tyre Treatment will remove a great deal of road grime, dirt, and oxidised rubber from your tyres. Repeat the application and wipe down procedure until the wipe down cloth does not get dirty. This usually requires two or three applications when you first use the DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment. The All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment is not a "wet-look" or gloss product, it is designed to keep tyres looking new, without any artificial appearance. The side walls of your tyres will last longer using the DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment. For white lettering, use a soft Waproo Suedette brush for optimum results.
Tips and Tricks for Tyre Treatment:
* Can be sprayed on and wiped with a soft cloth or can be worked into surface with a brush or
sponge.
* Clean your tyres with DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment before you clean
your wheels, this will prevent over-spray of tyre cleaner onto clean wheels.
* Use a toothbrush or similar sized brush to clean crevices. This works especially well where the
tyre and the wheel come together.
* When the tyres are completely clean, apply the DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim
Treatment one more time to add an extra layer of protection. This works especially well if the car is left sitting for a few hours after the application.
* Spray a small amount of DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment onto a terry cloth
towel and wipe down your windshield wiper blades.
* Use a separate cotton terry cloth towel to apply DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim
Treatment to your tyres, and a separate cotton terry cloth towel to apply Waterless Car Wash™ Ultra-Ion™ to your vehicles duco. This ensures that there is no cross contamination of product on the towel used for your duco, and your towels used to apply Ultra-Ion™ Waterless Car Wash™ stay cleaner and usable for longer.
Waterless Detailing for Wheels
Applying DWG® Ultra-Ion™ Waterless Car Wash™ to wheels:
Wheels are often overlooked during a typical vehicle "wash" and therefore they can become extremely dirty. Regular cleaning will not only enhance the appearance of wheels, it will improve the life span of the wheels and reduce pitting, rust, and corrosion. If the wheels are extremely dirty, use a soft bristled brush to gently remove caked on dirt and mud. Otherwise, spray DWG® Waterless Car Wash™ Ultra-Ion™ onto the wheels and clean the wheels using the same techniques as cleaning the vehicle's painted surfaces.
Premium Metal Polish
Apply with a soft cloth. Polish to a haze and let dry, then buff with a cloth. Test in a small area first. If oxidisation (black) is lifted off the surface, continue with metal polish. If no oxidisation appears, the surface is probably clear coated. If so, use DWG® Ultra-Ion™ Waterless Car Wash. Be aware that most European cars have clear coated wheels.
Tips and Tricks for Waterless Wheel Detailing:
* Avoid spraying past the wheels onto the brakes, this can affect the brake system.
* Use DWG® Premium Metal Polish to clean alloy wheels, then use DWG® Waterless Car
Wash™ Ultra-Ion™ to protect and shine the wheels.
* Use DWG® Ultra-Ion™ on wheels that have clear coat or painted surfaces, also use Dri Wash
'n Guard® to clean chrome, chrome plated, and gold plated wheels.
* If in doubt about the composition of the wheels, use Dri Wash 'n Guard® on the wheels and
Waterless Detailing for Windows and Glass
Applying Dri Wash 'n Guard® Ultra-Ion™
Spray a clean terry cloth with a small amount of DWG® Ultra-Ion™ Waterless Car Wash. Apply the DWG® Ultra-Ion™ directly from the towel, do not spray onto the surface of the window, unless the window is extremely dirty. Use this technique for both the inside and outside of the windows. DWG® Ultra-Ion™ will make your windows almost invisible.
Tips and Tricks for Window and Glass Detailing:
* Consider wiping down the windows twice using two separate wipe down cloths. This will
remove excess product and ensure prevention of the prism effect.
* Automobile windows, mirrors, and home windows require very little Dri Wash 'n Guard® to
become absolutely gleaming. When in doubt, use less product.
* Dri Wash 'n Guard® is safe for both factory and after market tinted windows.
Waterless Vehicle Interior Detailing
Getting Started:
Remove all loose articles from the interior, including floor mats, any articles in door or seat storage areas, loose change, papers and personal items. Start by vacuuming the interior, including seat seams, between seats, under seats, between seats and console area and the boot area. Vacuum the roof lining especially if it is cloth. Vacuum the floor mats prior to applying carpet cleaner.
Waterless Fabric, Carpet & Upholstery Detailing:
Use a light coat of DWG® Fabric, Carpet & Upholstery Treatment (FCU) on the interior carpet and the floor mats. Spray the DWG® FCU onto the carpet. Use a terry cloth towel to remove the dirt from the fabric. Rather than using a rubbing motion, just draw the cloth across the carpet, turning the cloth as often as necessary to continue using a clean surface. This technique picks up dirt more rapidly as the cloth absorbs more dirt. Then wipe down with another clean dry terry cloth. For cleaning upholstery, spray a light coat of DWG® FCU onto the upholstery, then use a rolled up towel to lightly scrub the surface. Turn the towel often to continue using clean terry cloth. Follow this with a DWG® Micro Fibre towel using the same technique. This will ensure that the upholstery is clean and as dry as possible.
Tips and Tricks for Waterless Fabric, Carpet & Upholstery Detailing
* To remove stains, spray the DWG® FCU directly onto the stain, let soak for just a few
seconds, then use a soft bristled brush in a circular motion to scrub the stain. Then use a terry cloth washcloth or towel to remove dirt and excess cleaner.
Waterless Convertible Top Cleaning
Applying DWG® Upholstery, Fabric & Carpet Treatment:
multiple terry cloth cleaning cloths, due to the fact that the convertible top is rarely truly cleaned by conventional car cleaners. Follow up cleanings will take less DWG® FCU and less effort, especially if you clean your convertible top once a month.
Tips and Tricks for Convertible Top Cleaning
* Spray onto the surface. Can be scrubbed in with a soft Waproo Suedette brush and wiped
clean with a soft cloth. For deep stains, a second application may be necessary with a DWG® Micro Fibre.
* Maintenance cleanings can be done by using a damp (not soaking wet) terry cloth towel, and
once again drawing the terry cloth first in one direction, then in the opposite direction.
Convertible Rear Window Detailing
Applying Dri Wash 'n Guard® Waterless Car Wash:
Clean the rear window just as you would any other car window, with DWG® Waterless Car Wash. Remember to wet a terry cloth towel with the Dri Wash 'n Guard® to apply to the window, do not spray directly onto the window itself. Use this technique for both plastic and glass convertible rear windows. Once again, buff with a clean DWG® Buffing Towel. If you accidentally apply DWG® Waterless Car Wash to the fabric, use DWG® Upholstery, Fabric & Carpet Cleaner to remove.
Waterless Leather & Vinyl Detailing:
Leather upholstery requires a quality leather cleaning product. NEVER use water to clean leather products, it will cause leather to break down and crack. Leather and vinyl should be treated once a month, more if there is heavy wear. DWG® Leather & Vinyl Treatment will clean, condition, provide UV protection, reduce static and reduce dust build up on your leather and vinyl. Spray DWG® Leather & Vinyl Treatment onto the surface of the leather, then use a terry cloth wash cloth or small towel to spread and clean the surface. As with other DWG® products, use a white terry cloth so you can observe the dirty areas becoming clean. Buff with another clean terry cloth towel. For vinyl treatment, use the same procedure as leather treatment. Notice that DWG® Leather & Vinyl Treatment does not make the leather or vinyl appear shiny. The shine that other products will produce on leather and vinyl is actually an oil residue that is very bad for the leather and vinyl. This oil residue will attract dust and dirt and will eventually cause cracking of the surface of the leather and vinyl. DWG® Leather & Vinyl Treatment contains the all-inclusive benefits of UV protection, cleaner and conditioner, most other products do not.
Tips and Tricks for Waterless Leather and Vinyl Detailing:
* Spray onto the surface. Can be scrubbed in with a hard foam or soft Waproo Suedette brush
and wiped clean with a soft towel then repeated with DWG® Micro fibre towel for a streak-free finish.
* In hard to reach areas, spray the DWG® Leather & Vinyl Treatment onto your cleaning rag
and not directly onto the surface. This will prevent over-spray that may be difficult to remove.
* Remember to use Leather & Vinyl Cleaner on doors, arm-rests, sun visors, and roof lining
where these areas are made of leather or vinyl.
Applying Dri Wash 'n Guard® OxyGone®:
In cases where the plastic rear window is stained or discoloured from UV rays and age, apply OxyGone® with a terry towel on both sides, entirely removing the stains and oxide for an amazing crystal clear and clean finish.
Tips and Tricks for Convertible Rear Window Cleaning
* The mere act of physically getting to the rear window can be a trick in itself since many
window, the window will probably look cloudy or hazy before you start and this will give the impression that the window is very dirty when in fact, the dust is usually removed very easily.
* Remember to use a terry cloth wetted with Dri Wash 'n Guard® and avoid spraying directly
onto the window.
Wheel Well Detailing
Applying Dri Wash 'n Guard® Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment:
This can be a difficult area, especially in winter. If the wheel wells are wet, or have caked-on mud, use a bucket and sponge to clean the area. Avoid soaps, since you will be treating the area with DWG® products after drying the wheel well. Dry the area with a towel, then apply DWG® Tyre Treatment - this versatile product works great on all plastic and rubber, if the wheel wells are plastic lined as many new cars are today. If the wheel well is all metal, use DWG® Waterless Carwash™, this will protect the metal and reduce dirt build up in the future. If the wheel well is quite dirty, but not so much so that water is required, use a stiff brush to remove dirt, then use the appropriate cleaning product for the material inside the wheel well.
Tips and Tricks for Wheel Well Detailing
* Use a stiff bristled brush if needed, however, do not use a wire brush and make certain the
brush is in good condition so you don't scratch plastic or metal with sharp edged bristles.
* Remember to use DWG® Tyre Treatment on plastic and DWG® Waterless Car Wash™
Ultra-Ion™ on metal.
* Use terry cloth to apply and wipe down the cleaning product.
Waterless Rubber and Plastic Detailing
Applying DWG® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment:
Dri Wash 'n Guard® All Weather Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment is designed to clean, polish and protect all plastic and rubber. It will impart a clean surface without adding unnecessary shine. Use a terry cloth towel to apply the product and wipe down with a second, clean terry cloth towel. Unlike DWG® Waterless Carwash™, no haze forms with the DWG® Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment. Because bumpers, rubber moulding, door and fender guards, and plastic rear view mirror casings are in locations where there are crevices and cracks, you should spray the Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment onto the terry cloth and then apply the product. Use a second application to bring out a brighter shine if desired.
Tips and Tricks for Waterless Rubber and Plastic Detailing
* You can also use a foam "brush" applicator, used in painting, to apply the DWG® All Weather
Tyre & Exterior Trim Treatment. The foam applicator will place the product more precisely and there will be less Tyre Treatment to wipe down.
When Job is completed INSPECT VEHICLE in sunlight for any imperfections

#4 Frequently Asked Questions
Exactly what is DRI WASH 'n GUARD®?DRI WASH N GUARD® is a combination car wash, polish and protective glaze that is applied directly to a dirty surface without the use of water; it contains no waxes, nor is it simply a polish. Waxes do a good job of “protecting” but often leave the paint dull. Polishes are great at removing minor stains, blemishes and are much more capable of rejuvenating dull paint. But polishes often are abrasive and provide very little protection on the paint surface. Paint sealants protect very well, but cannot clean or polish. A vehicle's paint must be virtually pristine before the sealants can be applied. DRI WASH 'n GUARD® combines the best features of waxes, polishes and paint sealants without any of the drawbacks.
How is it possible to apply DRI WASH ‘n GUARD® over a dirty surface?
DRI WASH 'n GUARD® contains over 47 ingredients, including wetting agents, lubricants and protectants which have never been used by the car industry. The ingredients and wetting agents in DRI WASH 'n GUARD® combine to soften and emulsify surface grime, while a specific blend of polymeroxane fluids and hydrophenolic lubricants attach a microscopic layer of exclusive PolyGuard-3 to the surface. PolyGuard-PolyGuard-3® is an extremely rare (and expensive) substance which provides a bonded layer of protection against any remaining abrasive not broken down by the detergents and wetting agents.
What is the guarantee on DRI WASH 'n GUARD®?
When used in strict compliance with its "directions for use," DRI WASH 'n GUARD® is guaranteed to perform as indicated. Upon initial use, the bottle will spray properly and the vehicle will shine more than before DRI WASH ‘n GUARD® was applied and water will bead on it. Years of ongoing test evaluations, quality control assurances, and millions of satisfied customers in over 52 countries have proved it’s safety, effectiveness and efficacy of DWG®. DWG International™, however, cannot be held responsible for damage that may occur from improper use of the product.
How durable is DRI WASH 'n GUARD®?
A vehicle surface protected by DRI WASH 'n GUARD® will bead water for a year or more even on windshields which are scrubbed by wiper blades, ice scrapers, etc. When applied to paint on a new vehicle (monthly) it will greatly slow down the oxidation process. However once oxidation begins, it cannot be stopped, only slowed. On older, extremely oxidised paint, DRI WASH 'n GUARD® may need to be applied as often as every 2-3 weeks, even though the paint is still protected and beading water. DRI WASH 'n GUARD® helps protect against the effects of high sun exposure, acid rain and road salt.
What are the benefits of DRI WASH 'n GUARD® on glass, and are there any
precautions to its use?
There is no other product for use on glass which will give the brilliant clarity of DRI WASH 'n GUARD®. The glass will seem to disappear. The product also makes a glass surface smoother, or slippery, so that water runs off a windshield without a trace. This "slick" surface also means that insects, bird droppings and tree sap can be removed effortlessly. In winter, windshields and outside mirrors protected by DRI WASH 'n GUARD® are more easily cleared of snow and ice.
Should DRI WASH 'n GUARD® be applied over paint and sealants?
Yes and no. Paint sealants are only applied to new cars, or cars whose paint is in excellent condition. If properly applied, the sealant will maintain the finish for six months or more. When the finish no longer beads water, the DRI WASH 'n GUARD® Ultra-Ion™ should be applied.
If I decide to wash my car before applying DRI WASH 'n GUARD®, must I dry it,
too?
A big YES here! Even a few drops of water will create problems, i.e. the polish will be difficult to remove and will probably leave streaks. Furthermore, DRI WASH 'n GUARD® shine and protection qualities will be greatly diminished.
What happens if DRI WASH 'n GUARD® freezes?
DRI WASH 'n GUARD® has been subjected to repeated cold-cycle tests to -20 degrees F. with no damage to the chemical formulation. However, the bottles in which the product is packaged will become brittle and subject to breakage in subfreezing temperatures. It is recommended that DRI WASH 'n GUARD® be kept at room temperature.
Does DRI WASH 'n GUARD® contain silicones?
No.Why shake DRI WASH 'n GUARD® before each use?
Some of the product's ingredients fall out of solution and must be re-mixed before use. Vigorously shake the 1litre and the 500ml bottles prior to filling the AIRosol™ applicator bottle, then shake it before each application of DRI WASH ‘n GUARD® Ultra-Ion™.
Can another type of spray bottle be used to apply DRI WASH 'n GUARD®?
Possibly, but doing so will nullify the product warranty. There is no other spray applicator which provides the fine, even mist which is dispensed by the AIRosol™ bottle.
What is the useful life of the AIRosol™ bottle?
Properly handled, the bottle will last indefinitely. Each bottle is hand-tested before it leaves the factory and is warranted to be in perfect working order. It should not be dropped, and it should be stored in an upright position at room temperature, if possible. The spray valve needs periodic cleaning. The simplest way to clean it is to invert the fully pressurised bottle and depress the actuator button for 3 seconds. If the valve is extremely clogged, remove it and soak it in hot, soapy water, then blow it clean.
Is too-frequent use of DRI WASH 'n GUARD® harmful to the paint?
No. DRI WASH 'n GUARD® can be applied daily without harming the painted surface. The product works only as hard as necessary. On paint in excellent condition, it cleans as gently as water. On oxidised paint, DRI WASH 'n DRI WASH 'n GUARD® cuts through layers of oxidisation each time it is used. The more DRI WASH ‘n GUARD with exclusive formula PolyGuard-3® is used, the more brilliant and smooth the surface becomes and even more resistant to the elements.
What is "Cold Shock"?
The propellant in a typical aerosol can or will cause the can to become very cold after a few minutes of continuous spraying. This cannot happen with the AIRosol™ bottle because it is pressurised with ordinary air.
Can DRI WASH 'n GUARD® be applied to vinyl tops?
How about vinyl mouldings, and leather or vinyl door trim panels, padded
instrument panel covers, tyres, etc.?
See previous question. It is almost impossible to polish a vehicle without getting some of the DRI WASH 'n GUARD® on a vinyl body moulding, a rubber bumper fascia or bumper guard, or flat-painted mirror, window moulding or windshield wiper. Just buff it off before it dries.
I've noticed that some of the DRI WASH 'n GUARD® droplets get past door,
trunk and hood openings. Is it harmful to leave them there?
No. Such over spray is unavoidable. These droplets can be wiped off anytime, even several months later.
Is it really impossible to burn paint with a buffer when using DRI WASH 'n
GUARD®?
What buffer speed is best? Orbital Buffer Is Best!
Nothing is impossible, but you'll have to try very hard. Under normal circumstances it cannot happen. The surface simply becomes too slippery and smooth to create the necessary friction which causes paint burn. An orbital or a variable-speed buffer at 1,500 RPM or less will do the job. Do not buff with the edge of the pad, use the entire pad surface whenever possible. Operate the buffer using unhurried, overlapping circular motions while maintaining firm downward pressure. Before attempting to use DRI WASH 'n GUARD® with a high-speed buffer, you should be experienced in the usage of a buffer and the differences in paint types with regards to buffer use.
What other buffing tips do you suggest?
No one thing is recommended for every situation. A buffer will do nothing for the paint that polishing by hand can't do better or faster. Make sure that the buffer is equipped with a foam pad.
Can DRI WASH 'n GUARD® with exclusive formula PolyGuard-3™ remove swirls
left in the paint by other products?
Yes, but you must buff in the opposite direction of the swirl mark pattern, or in a circular motion.
How heavy should the spray be?
More is not necessarily better. Spray in long sweeping motions, holding the bottle at least 30 cm from the surface.
Can any other material be used as an applicator cloth when applying DRI WASH
'n GUARD®?
The only recommended substitute is a foam pad when using a buffer.
Should DRI WASH 'n GUARD® be removed while still damp, or let it dry
completely?
Normally it makes no difference, but in cases where the paint is in very poor condition, dry, rough, oxidised, it is better to remove the product immediately before moving to the next area.
How many waterless wash/polish jobs can I expect from a 1 litre bottle of DRI
WASH 'n GUARD®?
Beyond its durability, how often should DRI WASH 'n GUARD® be re-applied to
keep a vehicle looking really good?
To keep the incredible sense of depth and brilliance in the paint, and to keep the surface as smooth as porcelain, a weekly application is recommended. Of course, that depends on the colour and conditions. Normally, re-apply the product fortnightly.
How economical is DRI WASH 'n GUARD®?
If a 1 litre bottle of DRI WASH 'n GUARD® results in 16 cleaning/polishing jobs, you're getting a bargain at a little over $5.00 each time at distributor cost. Compare that with the $25-$50 cost of having your vehicle washed with soap and water. Besides the money savings, a 1 litre bottle will save more than 3,200 litres of water, an irreplaceable resource.
Is DRI WASH 'n GUARD® safe for clear coats?
Absolutely. DRI WASH 'n GUARD® has been laboratory tested on every type of paint used by the industry from older acrylic lacquers to modern high-gloss acrylic urethane and polyurethane paints. Properly applied, DRI WASH 'n GUARD® with exclusive formula PolyGuard-3® is safe for all hard non-porous surfaces.
How soon can DRI WASH 'n GUARD® be applied to a repainted vehicle?
Both the paint industry and the automobile industry generally endorse a 90-day waiting period for newly painted vehicles, during which time thinning solvents evaporate from the paint, allowing it to cure. DWG International™ endorses that industry standard.
Are there other uses for DRI WASH 'n GUARD®?
DRI WASH 'n GUARD® can be effectively used on virtually any non-porous surface from automobile paint and chrome to household appliances and jewellery. Don’t forget the many uses for DRI WASH 'n GUARD® Premium Metal Polish, it will make your sink and silver like new.
Will DRI WASH 'n GUARD with exclusive formula PolyGuard-3® work on boats
and fibreglass?
Yes, with each application of DRI WASH 'n GUARD®, the boat will be easier to maintain, particularly against water spots.
Will DRI WASH 'n GUARD® remove hard water spots?
It can, but only if the finish is relatively new, has already been treated, or the spotting hasn't set too deeply. DRI WASH 'n GUARD® is a tremendous cleaner, but it is not an abrasive rubbing compound which often is necessary to remove severe hard water spots.
Does DRI WASH 'n GUARD® help to protect against ultraviolet (UV) radiation?
Yes, thanks to two special ingredients which help screen UV rays, but there is nothing that can totally protect a surface from exposure to the sun. Just as sunscreens cannot entirely protect the skin from burning, UV blockers cannot fully protect painted surfaces from chemically decomposing over time. Can DRI WASH 'n GUARD® remove scratches?
Yes, if they are minor, light scratches. It will eliminate the tiny "feather" scratches caused by many car wash brushes. The product does not contain any ingredients that can fill deeper, more serious scratches. To remove light scratches, spray the scratched area with a 30 x 30 coat of DRI WASH 'n GUARD® and polish back and forth on the scratched area. Repeat once if necessary.
#5 Simplified Procedure For Detailing Vehicles With DWG®
It is recommended to detail in shady, out of the wind and away from dust area for that Special DWG® showroom finish.
1)
Start with the interior in the order set out below:
a) Vacuum floor, seats, boot and any other dusty areas, making sure to get into areas between the seats and other tight areas using a long nosed nozzle attachment. A brush type head is best for carpets and upholstery.
b) Do all inside glass and painted areas with Ultra-Ion™ including door sills, door frames including
the boot area, wipe off these areas straight away and if windows are tinted wipe immediately as if left on, it could start to break down some after market tinted windows.
c) Do roof lining, sun visors, door trims, dash and any other plastic or leather surface other than the seats with Leather and vinyl using paint brush for all hard to get to places and a shoe shine type brush for non smooth surfaces like vinyl or leather door trims etc, then wipe with micro fibre cloth.
d) Do floor, if vinyl use DWG® Tyre and Trim Treatment for sheen finish or leather and Vinyl for a
matt finish, again use shoe type brush for non smooth surfaces then wipe up with micro fibre cloth. If carpet, use Carpet and Upholstery spraying stains heavily then spray some onto a cotton cloth and work stained areas, then spray the rest of the area and rake up and down.
e) Do the seats last as you don’t want to have to sit on a wet seat. Do them the same way as you would do the carpet or vinyl on the floor. If Leather, only use Leather and Vinyl.
Door Wells, Door Frames. Whether you are doing the interior or the exterior, in either case, the door frames should be done for that complete and finished appearance.
2)
Restoring Oxidised Surfaces
a) When removing oxidisation from painted surfaces rubber and plastic, use DWG® OxyGone®
with either a buffer at a speed of no more then 1,500 rpm or by hand. Applying the DWG® OxyGone® onto the Cotton Terry Towel and rub onto the surface until satisfied with the results. Wipe off, then repeat this process until all oxidised paint or rubber is removed.
b) When removing oxidisation from metal surfaces, apply the DWG® Premium Metal Polish™ using a cotton terry towel. Rub onto the tarnished, oxidised or rusted surface for the most amazing shine, repeat the process if needed.
c) Always seal restored areas with DWG® Waterless Car Wash™ Ultra-Ion™.
3)
Applying DWG® Ultra-Ion™ to the outside of the vehicle
a) Start by folding your cotton terry towel in half, then fold it again and you will have a square shape. Filling your applicator bottle between half and three quarters pump to a high pressure to get a fine mist, then spray onto the Cotton Terry Towel (for the first time only). Then start by spraying onto the surface to be cleaned, lightly smearing the product over the surface using finger touch pressure. Apply to the whole vehicle before removing the film with the DWG® Micro Fibre Towel (the product takes approximately seven to ten minutes to fully cure.)
b) There are 2 procedures that deliver the same results, you may have to try both in order to
establish a personally suitable technique.
OPTION 1
then the doors, and finish at the front guard, leave the rims to last. For spots that risk leaving a film in areas difficult to get to like the grill, mirrors, rims etc, simply spray product onto the cotton cloth and smear over these areas.
OPTION 2
Start by cleaning all windows as they are the least dirty, keeping your Cotton Terry Towel cleaner longer, then start by standing at the side of the bonnet you wish to start at, do half the bonnet and then move to the roof, then whole boot, back up to the other side of the roof, then down to the bonnet. Move down to the front head lights and grill etc, around to the guard, then doors, then back guard, then tail lights, etc then around to the other rear quarter panel, then the doors and finish at the front guard, leave the rims to last. For spots that risk leaving a film in areas difficult to get to like the grill, mirrors, rims etc, simply spray product onto the cotton cloth and smear over these areas.
Following the same sequence, buff off with the DWG® Micro Fibre Towel. When removing the product from tight areas, you may need to use a paintbrush around tail lights, badges etc.
4)
Applying the tyre and trim to the outside of the vehicle
a) First start by spraying product onto your sponge, smear onto the surface to be protected or restored, being careful not to get any onto the glass or painted areas. If any product does get onto these areas, wipe off immediately as it will be more difficult later.
b) Buff off with your DWG® Micro Fibre Towel while still wet. This will prevent streaking and if shine is desired re-apply, leave to dry, then come back and buff up.
c) Should the area be badly faded, you may need to apply several times in order to restore the surface.
d) Surfaces in which to use this product would be tyres, plastic bumpers, mud flaps, plastic mirrors, plastic grill at bottom of windscreen, plastic door handles and plastic grill, or any other plastic or rubber surface where required.
5)
Engine Bay
This procedure is to be conducted on cold Engine Bay a) The product to use here is the Leather and Vinyl.
b) Spray directly onto the area to be cleaned and wipe over with DWG® Micro Fibre Towel.
c) Use a paint brush in those tricky areas by spraying onto the brush and dabbing where required d) Use metal or Ultra-Ion™ on metal or chrome areas where required.
