Aircraft Electrical Course Description 400 Hour Class

With the advancement of aircraft technology the aircraft electrician must learn new maintenance procedures every day just to stay abreast. This program is designed to provide training in electrical theory, safety, proper use of electrical hand tools,

manufacturing of electrical equipment, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems in aircraft and repairing broken parts. The course covers subjects such as aircraft

familiarization, safety, technical orders, tool control, hand tools, basic electric theory, precision measuring devices, special electrical tools, blueprint reading, lockwiring, and maintenance and troubleshooting of all aircraft electrical system, (fuel, hydraulic, flight control, environmental, landing gear and engine.) The Student will demonstrate their new skills by working on projects set up by the instructor and demonstrate their

troubleshooting skills on aircraft trainers. Graduates from this program are equipped for a position as an aircraft electrical helper and electrical journeyman apprentice

Cable Harness Manufacturing Course Description

120 Hour Class

Cable Harness Manufacturing is an intermediate level course. The course also covers subjects such as foreign object damage and tool control as it relates to cable harness manufacturing. This program is designed to provide basic electrical theory and

problem solving techniques required for manufacture, analysis and repair of cable harnesses. It will also provide the knowledge required using the special tools, equipment and technical data needed to complete this task. The student will

demonstrate their new skills by working on projects set up by the instructor, including the manufacture of a cable harness using drawings, schematics and/or blueprints. The student will demonstrate their troubleshooting and repair skills on cable harnesses and electrical trainers. All skills will be demonstrated to a satisfactory level as evaluated by the instructor. The course is designed for students who have basic electrical

knowledge and experience, or training to that level. The student must have completed formal training for Hot Air Soldering.

Electrostatic Discharge ESD Course Description

4 Hour Class

This course will familiarize the technician with basic knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge and the damaging affects on many types of components. The course includes information on the nature and principles of static electricity and how static electricity forms; the triboelectric effect, electromagnetic induction, and polarization; sources of ESD damage; protective materials that are conductive, static dissipative, and antistatic; equipment and clothing appropriate to the ESD protective area;

techniques for handling ESD sensitive items; and protective packing materials and marking and labeling requirements for packs containing ESD sensitive items. Classroom and shop practices will be used for training purposes.

Aircraft Sheet Metal Course Description 400 Hour Class

High-tech aircraft design and performance demand sheet metal mechanics be aware of the latest technical changes and maintenance procedures. This program is

developed to meet this demand. This is a basic sheet metal course designed to upgrade Beginners to Intermediate level in the skills necessary to complete various repairs to aircraft structures and associated equipment. This course will provide

training in aircraft familiarization, technical orders, hand tools, shop tools, shop safety, blueprint reading and 180 hours of shop structural repair projects that enable the individual to evaluate and repair damage in compliance with established technical order standards. At the completion of this course, the sheet metal mechanic will have a better understanding of the complexity of structural repairs, preparing them for a position as an aircraft sheet metal helper or sheet metal journeymen apprentices.

LP 2-level Basic Sheet Metal Course Description

80 Hour Class

This sheet metal course was developed for entry-level sheet metal helpers. Units covered are to include; shop safety, technical orders, Tool Control, common shop and hand tools, aircraft blueprints, conventional and special fasteners and basic structural repair. Classroom and shop practices will be used for training purposes

Basic Sheet metal Course Description 120 Hour Class

This sheet metal course was developed for Mechanical Component Parts Reworkers. Units covered include Technical Data, Maintenance Documents, Personal Protection and Safe Operational, Tool Use, Shop Math, Shop Tools, Conventional Fasteners, Special Fasteners, Precision Measurement Equipment, Corrosion Control, Power Brush Finishing, Grinding — Automatic and Offhand, Rework Inspections, and Structural Repair. Special emphasis is placed on Mechanical Component Parts Rework technical information and procedures.

Aircraft Sheet Metal Course Description 320 Hour Class

This course will familiarize the mechanic with aircraft fundamentals, technical orders, hand tools, shop tools, shop safety, the various types of fasteners, damage evaluation, repair procedures, blueprint reading, corrosion control and safety precautions required to produce a finished repair that complies with the established technical order

standards and 190 hours of hands on shop structural repair projects that enable the individual to evaluate and repair damage in compliance with established technical order standards.

At the completion of this course, the sheet metal mechanic will have a better

understanding of the complexity of structural repairs, preparing them for a position as an aircraft sheet metal helper or sheet metal journeymen apprentices.

Hydraulics & Rigging Course Description 120 Hour Class

In order for aviation technicians to make intelligent decisions that affect the flight safety of today’s complex aircraft, they must have a basic knowledge of the theory of

hydraulics and the relationships between the atmosphere, the aircraft, and the force acting on it in flight. The Aircraft Hydraulic and Rigging course was developed to teach aircraft mechanics the system knowledge required to aid them in

troubleshooting, rigging and repairing of the complex hydraulic and flight control systems of the aircraft. The course covers all technical orders that relate to the

hydraulic and flight control systems. At completion of this course the aircraft mechanic will have a better understanding of the hydraulic and flight control systems. This

understanding and working knowledge will enable him to troubleshoot and repair the systems as required.

Technical Orders Course Description 8 Hour Class

This course was developed to provide training in the use of different types of Technical Manuel’s, Service Bulletins, Operational Bulletins, FAA Airworthiness Directives as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Air Transport

Association (ATA). These publications provide information and instructions on

commercial systems. It is the purpose of this course to train students in understanding the importance of following technical Data. Students will research Technical Orders to find correct answers or solutions to questions or scenarios. This course will be

instructor led and has a written test & practical evaluation.

Blue Print Reading Course Description 8 Hour Class

This course of instruction is designed as a familiarization for personnel who have a need of understanding aircraft blueprint reading. After completion of this course, the student should be able to identify common symbols used in aircraft blueprints. Student should also be able to read, interpret and record information from an aircraft blueprint for sheet metal and electrical blueprints used in a shop environment.

Multi-Meter

Course Description 8 Hour Class

This course sets the foundation for the use of the Multimeter. Students use OHM's Law, measure DC voltage and current, measure AC voltage and current , measure resistance, test a typical diode , and check for continuity , Students demonstrate an understanding of use all safety precautions. It applies to all areas and applications of aircraft electrical/electronics trouble-shooting and repair

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Course Description

8 Hours Class

This instructor-led course is designed to teach the student how to perform CPR and operate an AED on an adult victim who has stopped breathing and has no pulse.

Hot Air Soldering Course Description 24 Hour Class

This Instructor-led course trains personnel to perform Hot Air soldering functions. Training topics include: Safety, tools, equipment, materials, preparation, Hot Air

soldering functions, project evaluation criteria, related Technical Orders, and available reference materials. Projects include: Install a ground lead to the center of a cable shield using a SolderSleeve with a pre-installed ground lead, Install a ground lead to the end of a cable shield using a SolderSleeve with pre-installed ground lead, Install 22 gauge wires to a wafer using a holding fixture, Install a multi-conductor shielded cable to a Bus Bar assembly using holding fixture, Install 22 gauge twisted-pair cable to a SolderTact using holding fixture, Install a coaxial shielded wire to a SolderTact using holding fixture, and Install 3 twisted pair shielded cables to a wafer in a 90 degree Backshell.

Aircraft Quality Evaluator Course Description

80 Hour Class

This course is a qualification course used to cross-train aircraft quality evaluators in maintenance skills in addition to their own. This course includes curriculum designed to increase the student’s knowledge in the following core subjects: depot maintenance technical data, safety, aircraft ground handling, aircraft blueprints, precision measuring equipment (PME), lockwire, and metals identification. The sheet metal program is designed to familiarize the quality evaluator with conventional and special fasteners, layout and forming, damage evaluation, repair procedures, and safety precautions required to produce a finished repair that complies with the established technical order standards. The aircraft electrical program introduces the student to electrical safety, and precautions. This program is designed to provide training in basic electrical theory, ohms law, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics, special tools, test equipment, and general maintenance practices; troubleshooting and repairs, and common electrical defects. The aircraft mechanic course provides training in aircraft maintenance fundamentals including familiarization with aircraft systems such as electrical, utility, fuel, pneudraulics, landing gear, flight controls, engines and related systems. Graduates from this program are equipped for a position as a total aircraft quality evaluator.

Corrosion Control Course Description 8 Hour Class

This course provides aircraft and aircraft component/equipment maintenance

personnel basic knowledge of the types of corrosion aircraft are prone to and how to remove and prevent that corrosion. This program is designed to provide training in corrosion theory, inspection and corrosion prone areas, corrosion removal and surface treatment, sealants, treatment of specific areas, corrosion removal and surface

treatment, and treatment of specific types of metal and areas. It includes problem areas, updates and other relative information. This knowledge is essential to every aircraft technician. Because corrosion is a machine's number one enemy, mechanics will need to understand when and how to perform aircraft cleaning and corrosion

control techniques. This knowledge will help mechanics perform corrosion inspections, remove corrosion, and use corrosion prevention to ensure safe, continuous operation of their aircraft. This course will entail the student researching Technical Orders (TO’s) to find the correct answer or solution to questions or scenarios. This course will be instructor led and will have a written test & practical evaluation giving each student extensive exposure information about aircraft corrosion.

Advanced Composite Repair Course Description

120 Hour Class

This course of instruction is designed as a familiarization for personnel who have a need of understanding composite structures and their manufacturing processes. This course covers repair of advanced composite aircraft structures and includes:

Introduction to advanced composites; use of associated technical orders; basic sheet metal tools and repairs; visual and tap testing inspections; damage evaluations and classification using nondestructive inspection results; moisture removal procedures; cutting, trimming, drilling, countersinking, liquid shimming and installation of advanced composite structures; damage removal and repairs to aramid fiber and graphite

structures; surface defect repairs; fastener hole repairs; the use of programmable hot bond curing equipment, and tools required for advanced composite repair; airborne fiber, chemical handling, and in-shop safety. Prerequisites: Females should receive a Serum Beta-HCC test to medically confirm they are not pregnant prior to arriving at the course. Pregnant females must not attend the course.

Aircraft Weight and Balance Course Description

10 hour Class

Theory and methods used to control aircraft loading and center of gravity location. Includes weight and balance terminology; principles of force and movement acting on a free body; weight and balance computations and algebraic formulas; methods,

procedures, equipment, and safety precautions required for weighing aircraft to determine center of gravity location; and loading calculations using manufacturer's loading charts, load adjuster slide rules, and scientific calculators.

A/C Mapping & Radome ID Course Description

16 Hour Class

This course of instruction is designed as a familiarization for personnel who have a need of understanding aircraft station, radome, and antenna identification. This course covers the purpose of the station numbering system, reference datum, reference

datum nomenclature for Boeing 707 Aircraft.

Aircraft Blueprints & Mapping Course Description

16 Hour Class

This course of instruction is designed as a familiarization for personnel who have a need of understanding aircraft station numbering and blueprint reading. After

completion of this course, the student should be able to identify common symbols used in aircraft blueprints also be able to read, interpret and record information from aircraft structural and electrical blueprints for Boeing and Rockwell aircraft used in a shop environment. Students will also become familiar with the aircraft station numbering system, reference datum.

High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) Spray Class C Course Description

24 Hour Class

This course is designed to provide technicians with specific safety precautions, general familiarization, processes, and procedures for performing HVOF Spray Class C. It provides instruction on Types of Thermal Spray Processes, Theory of HVOF

Operation, Thermal Spray Coatings and Powders, Equipment Operation, Use of

Technical Data, Safety Precautions and Procedures, HVOF Spray Preparation, HVOF Spray Application, Inspection of Oxygen Fuel Spray Application, HVOF Spray Gun Repair. This course is functionally designed to be classroom training followed by On the Job Training (OJT).

Maintenance Excellence (Annual) Course Description

8 Hour Class

It is the purpose of this course to expose students to refresher training on: Maintenance Ethics, Values & Ethics; Importance of Following Technical Data; Personal Accountability; Foreign Object Damage Awareness Training; Tool and Equipment Management Training; Fire Safety and Prevention Training; Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout); Proper Lifting Techniques.

Basic AC/DC Electrical Course Course Description

120 Hours Class

This is an instructor-led, entry-level course, where students receive basic knowledge of Alternating Current/Direct Current (AC/DC). The program provides knowledge of basic mathematics and simple algebra; basic electrical theory, resistance and resistors, circuit protection devices, DC resistive circuits, magnetism and relays, Students are introduced to motors and synchros, and the principles of DC electricity; and AC, including problem-solving techniques required for analysis and application of AC. Concepts of inductors and inductive reactance, capacitance and capacitive

reactance are discussed. Respective circuit analysis techniques are covered for series and parallel resistive-capacitive and resistive-inductive circuits. The student will work on projects to demonstrate their new troubleshooting skills.

Aircraft Jacking and Leveling Course Course Description

16 Hours Class

This instructor-led course exposes students to the correct general aircraft jacking procedures. Topics covered are General Safety Requirements, Jacking Equipment, Leveling Devices, Jacking One Wheel, Jacking Complete Aircraft, and General Procedures for Lowering Aircraft. Students participate in a lecture/discussion, and research technical orders to find the correct answer or solution to questions or scenarios on the topics covered. Students also research specific information for the type aircraft they work on. Students are taught general inspection procedures for hydraulic jacks. Students receive task-oriented training by participating as jack team members in each team position (jacking chief, hydraulic manifold operator, and the leveling member. This course has a written test & practical evaluation.

Hazardous Waste Management Practices Course Course Description

6 Hours Class

High-tech aircraft materials, fluids, chemicals and cleaners demand that personnel working in an industrial environment are always aware of the latest hazardous waste management policies, systems, technical changes, waste control, storage, and clean-up procedures. This course is designed to meet annual requirements to clean-upgrade and update the training of individuals in the procedures and policies necessary to

accomplish this as required. This course provides training and updates in: Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, identification of hazardous waste, accumulation point management, container management, waste turn-in procedures, manifesting and transportation of hazardous waste, spill prevention, emergency procedures, waste reduction, personnel safety, health and fire safety; and record keeping/reporting requirements. This course satisfies the basic requirements to be assigned as an Accumulation Point Manager.

Safety Cabling/Lockwiring Course Course Description

8 Hours Class

This instructor-led course was developed to provide essential knowledge and

techniques for safety wiring/lockwiring methods. Primary topics include the purpose of Safety Wiring/Lockwiring, Basic Rules of Lockwiring, Safety Cabling Methods,

Confined Space Entry Authority Course Course Description

6 Hours class

This instructor-led course covers the responsibilities of confined space entry authority personnel who issue and monitor confined space entry permits. It includes Regulatory Standards and Technical Data; Hazards and Human Factors; Emergency and Rescue Procedures; Specific Requirements; Confined Space Entry Authority Responsibilities; Confined Space Team Member Responsibilities; Monitoring Procedures; and Quality Assessment.

High Reliability Soldering Course Description

24 Hours Class

This Instructor-led course is the entry level soldering course. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to accomplish High Reliability soldering functions. Training topics include: safety, tools, equipment, materials, preparation, High Reliability soldering functions, project evaluation criteria, and related Technical Orders. Projects include: soldering a single wire to a turret terminal, soldering a single wire to a bifurcated terminal, soldering a single wire to a hook terminal, soldering a single wire to a cup terminal or connector pin, and installing a resistor between two turret terminals.

40 Hours Class

This Instructor-led course is the initial training in Micro-Miniature soldering. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to accomplish Micro-Miniature soldering functions. Training topics include: Safety, tools, equipment, materials, preparation,

Solid State Electronics Course Course Description

120 Hours Class

Basic course on Solid State Electronics for industrial applications. Study of elements that form various electronic systems and how they are used in today’s technology. Course covers handling and identification of components, reading and converting schematics and test concepts. Students will learn how to install and troubleshoot semiconductors, transistors, power supplies, diodes, amplifiers, and various other electronic components. This course introduces Solid State troubleshooting and provides 80 hours lab time split between Analog and Digital Circuits. Analog training includes schematic usage. Digital training includes digital logic, combination logic, flip-flop circuits, and registers and memory circuits. This course will be instructor led.

Contractor Initial Block Training Course Course Description

32 Hours Class

This course was developed to provide initial training for Civilian Personnel looking for Federal Employment. It is the purpose of this course to expose students to initial training on Production Acceptance Certification Familiarization Program, Handling and Storage of Hazardous Chemicals, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, Technical Data Use and Compliance, Work Control Documents for Maintenance Personnel, Tool and Equipment Management Training, Aircraft and Equipment Corrosion Control, Care and Use of Precision Measuring Equipment (PME). This course is instructor led and is measured by successful completion of oral section quizzes.

Introduction to Polymer Matrix Composites Course Description

8 Hours Class

This course of instruction is designed as a familiarization for personnel who have a need of understanding composite structures and their manufacturing processes. This course is divided into five blocks of instruction. Block 1 covers basic composite

information. Block 2 covers the different manufacturing processes. Block 3 covers some of the environmental issues that surround composite processes. Block 4 describes the purpose of Non Destructive inspections and how they relate to

composite structures. Block 5 instructs the students on how to perform composite structure damage assessment and repair procedures.

Structured On-the-Job Training Course Course Description

7 Hours Class

This instructor-led/classroom course is designed to teach those technicians who have been selected to provide SOJT to fellow technicians. It covers the process of learning to include learning theory and laws of learning. Fundamentals of training, i.e., safety, personality, motivation, and communication are discussed. The common types of training are reviewed. Learning objectives, SOJT guide/worksheet and the training process are covered. This course is designed for a one-time training experience for newly-assigned trainers or supervisors who have never attended a formal SOJT course.

Maintenance Perfection Course Course Description

4.0 Hour Class

This course was developed to provide annual refresher training on General Recurring Training Requirements (RTR). It is the purpose of this course to expose students to refresher training on: Importance of Following Technical Data; Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and Dropped Object Prevention (DOP) Awareness Training; Tool Control and Accountability Program; and Fire Safety and Prevention.

Jet Engine Familiarization Course Course Description

24 Hour Class

Basic engine theory of operation, system integration, construction breakdown, and aircraft and engine specific features; use of tools and maintenance materials to include common hand tools, torque wrenches and micrometers; identification of aircraft

hardware, lock-wiring techniques and safety devices; identifies purpose and locations of engine main bearings, seals, and major internal components of the engine; and removal and replacement of components and servicing.

Auxiliary Power Unit Systems Familiarization Course Description

16 Hour Class

Theory of operation of gas turbine compressor power (GTCP) auxiliary power systems. Includes removal and replacement of engines and sub-systems and troubleshooting and fault isolation using multi-meters and other supporting equipment. Emphasizes normal and emergency operation of the GTCP system and subsystems, technical data, and safety precautions; and removal and installation of engines from shipping

containers with preservation and non-preservation fluid.

Aircraft and System Components Familiarization Course Description

16 Hour Class

This course was developed to provide aircraft specifications, functions, system and component locations; basic knowledge and orientation of aircraft systems; and

operational theory, inspection, and maintenance of landing gear, brake, flight control, pneumatic, hydraulic, oxygen, air-conditioning, pressurization, instrument, and fuel systems.

Aircraft Familiarization and Flight-Line Operations Course Description

8 Hour Class

Introduction to aircraft ground operation hazards, movement, associated flight line safety procedures, weight and balance, aerodynamics, regulations, hardware, aircraft servicing and inspection concepts.

Advanced Aircraft Maintenance Course Description

24 Hour Class

Advanced aircraft systems operation theory and maintenance procedures. Includes system operation analysis, use of wiring diagrams, engineering drawings,

manufacturer's maintenance manuals, and special tools and equipment; rigging techniques and operational checkout of flight controls, landing gear, hydraulic, electrical, environmental and airframe systems components; ground handling; fault isolation; and inspection concepts to ensure aircraft safety and airworthiness.

MICROSOFT OFFICE 2010

These Microsoft courses are designed for students who are new to Microsoft Office or feel more comfortable with a course that is Instructor-led. Microsoft Office applications are designed to interact with each other. Students are advised to take Word 2010 and Excel 2010 before taking Access 2010 and PowerPoint 2010.

ACCESS 2010

Access 2010 is the database application in Microsoft Office 2010. It offers a powerful set of tools that are sophisticated enough for professional developers and yet easy enough for new users to learn. Database solutions can be created that make

organizing, accessing and sharing data easier than ever. Features covered include the four basic objects – tables, forms, queries and reports.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word 2010 and Excel 2010 is required.

EXCEL 2010

Excel 2010 is the powerful spreadsheet program in Microsoft Office 2010 that can be used to efficiently store and work with lists of data, calculate numbers and create reports and charts. Features covered include formulas, functions, formatting, linking,

sorting, filtering, subtotals, outlining, Pivot Tables, consolidation, charts and protecting work.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word 2010 is required.

ADVANCED EXCEL 2010

Excel 2010 is the prerequisite for Advanced Excel 2010. Features covered include Names, Functions, Data Tables, Goal Seek, Solver, Scenarios, Macros and User Defined Functions.

POWERPOINT 2010

PowerPoint 2010 is the graphics application in Microsoft 2010. Students receive guidance on preparing PowerPoint presentations. Features covered include

PowerPoint basics-creating slides using tables, charts, pictures and clipart, creating a presentation using timings, transitions and animations, and editing a presentation. Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word 2010 and Excel 2010 is required.

WORD 2010

Word 2010 is designed for the beginner. Features covered include all the basics such as opening, closing, saving your documents, how to edit text, changing default

settings, finding and replacing, envelopes and labels, and multi-page documents.

ADVANCED WORD 2010

The prerequisite for Advanced Word 2010 is Word 2010. Features covered are tables, forms, adding clip art and pictures, SmartArt, mail merge, versions and tracking
