Danfoss - Ice - Snow Melting Systems

Danfoss provides a high-tech solutions to efficiently fight against ice and snow

An ice and snow melting system from Danfoss is an investment in comfort and safety, making concerns about sudden building damages and driver, pedestrian safety unnecessary.

Efficient heat control ensures a good overall economy Danfoss™ thermostats and sensors ensure that the absolute minimum amount of energy is used to achieve optimum results.

Application Areas

The most typical Danfoss ice and snow melting applications on ground are car parks, driveways, pavements, outdoor steps, loading platforms and bridges.

In addition, the system is a financially sound investment as roofs, drainpipes, and roof gutters are always expensive to renovate after a harsh winter.

A Danfoss ice and snow melting system consists of a heating cable, an electronic thermostat and installation accessories.

Danfoss - Permafrost Protection

Frost protection of floors in cold stores, ice stadiums etc. It might seem contradictious to heat up the floor construction in a cold store,- but it is actually a necessity in order to protect the building.

In cold rooms and cold stores where the temperature is constantly between -20 and -30 °C, coldness will still be given off to the surroundings even though the floor is well insulated. This means that the materials which are in contact with the ground, such as foundation and floor areas, will absorb the cold and the ground will freeze.

The water content in the ground/

soil will expand and this can cause considerable damages due to frost erosion. The same problem also appears in ice stadiums, which are artificially frozen. A Danfoss frost protection system prevents damages on the buidings foundation and floors.

The super cooling problems can be avoided by installing a Danfoss frost protection system consisting of Danfoss heating cables controlled by a Danfoss thermostat. The heating cables build up a border between the cold surface and the underground and maintains a frost free soil temperature.

Mist free mirror!

Danfoss™ Mirror Heating

Small bathrooms in particular suffer from the misting mirror problem.

No matter how well the room is ventilated, the combination of high humidity and heat results in misted mirrors. But the problem can be solved in an easy and, more importantly, elegant way by installing an electrical Danfoss mirror heating mat in the tile adhesive behind the mirror. The heating mat behind the mirror quickly heats up the mirror, and misted mirror is avoided.

Mist free comfort at a low running cost

By installing the Danfoss mirror heating mat so that it switches on with the rest of the light in the bathroom - like a ventilator - you get mist free comfort with an energy consumption of a 60W

light bulb. And you only use energy while being in the bathroom with the light on!

Easy installation

The Danfoss mirror mat is easy to install and an experienced DIY man can install the heating mat behind the mirror.

But please remember an authorised installer must make the connection to the power supply.

DEVIreg™ Touch

DEVIreg™ Touch is first of all build on the insight, that using an electric floor heating thermostat has, so far, been

“first time every time”.

Secondly, DEVIreg™ Touch is build on the insight, that a sturdy reliable product is better than smart but fragile features.

When floors in flats, houses, basements or patios are renovated, electric floor heating can be added without breaking up the old floor. Likewise in new build.

To balance the comfort with energy use a timer thermostat is installed.

But the need for comfort is changing on a weekly, daily and sometime even hourly basis and that actual accessibility of the thermostat become essential to the end user.

Do not install floor heating systems without a floor sensor when the heating element is installed on or beneath wooden surfaces and other surfaces sensitive to temperature!
