A Message from Fr. Jake…
With the arrival of the month of November, our parish has several special events planned. Here is a partial listing of the events that are coming up this month:
Book of Remembrance
The Book of Remembrance will be put out in the Gathering Space starting November 1st. Parishioners are asked to write the names of these deceased loved ones in this book, so we, as a community, can pray for all those listed at our communal liturgies. This is a special way for all of us to pray for those who have died and gone
before us with the sign of faith.
Solemnity of All Saints, November 1
This is normally a Holy Day of Obligation, but since it falls on a Monday this year, this requirement is dropped.
The Bishop also still has the Dispensation from Sunday Mass in effect until further notice. OLV will celebrate this special day with Masses at 7:00AM, 12:00PM, and 5:30PM. Please note that everyone who attends the evening Mass on All Saints will be asked to wear a mask because this is the COVID-19 precautionary Mass.
Feast of All Souls, November 2
We will have a special Mass at 7:00PM on Tuesday in remembrance of all the deceased loved ones our parish community has lost over the last two years. In light of current precautions, this Mass will be different than what we have done in the past years here at the parish, but this will still be a special liturgy for those who are able to attend.
IGNITE Sundays, November 7 and November 21
These special nights of community and formation will continue on these two Sundays in November. Please see the bulletin for more details about attending or volunteering for these events.
National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC), November 18-21
The parish is sending a delegation of youth and adult chaperones to Indianapolis to attend this amazing national conference aimed at inspiring and encouraging high school students. Please keep all of them in your prayers as they prepare for this special conference.
Th
anksgiving Day, November 25
There will be a 7:00AM Mass and 9:00AM Mass on Thanksgiving Day. We will also be celebrating a 10:30AM Mass at Ridgecrest that day. Our parish is also still planning to provide a Thanksgiving meal for parishioners. Please see the bulletin for more details as Thanksgiving gets closer.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the parish staff for more information about these events or anything else happening in the parish.
Our Lady of Victory, pray for us!

We should be done around noon, although with more hands it may go quicker. We welcome all boy scouts, girl scouts, youth, and others who need service hours or anyone wanting a rewarding experience. For 8th grade confirmation students, you can use this as a possible service opportunity as well.
For those in need, if you still need help, please call Chris Wemhoff at 381-4189 or email: [email protected]. Any questions about this ministry, please call Chris. We look forward to seeing all of you there!
This week we are entering the Octave of All Saints Day.
The Octave is a period of eight days that follows the Feast of All Saints, celebrated on November 1. In the Octave, we are called first to remember with thanksgiving the lives of the Saints. Second, we are called to imitate them.
And third, we are encouraged to desire that Christ should move us now that we might join them in the Kingdom when our journey here on earth is done.
Remembering with thanksgiving the lives of the Saints requires that we learn about their lives. We want to discover who and what they stood for in their lives. We want to pray with gratitude for their lives and the examples they are for us.
Then we can be inspired to imitate them. Saints recognize God as the source of all goodness. We need to come to know ourselves in the light of God’s goodness with the help of His grace. We need to reach the understanding of our spiritual poverty, recognizing that we need God and our strength comes from Him.
Finally, we desire for God to do with us what He did in them. We look to God’s grace as a source for bringing good out of evil. We embrace God’s goodness and submit to His will for our lives.
Save the Date!
Sunday, November 14th St. Gabriel’s Circle who sponsor‘s the Ribbon Tree (gifts for kids) will be holding a Drive-up/
Drop off Event from 12PM - 3PM in the OLV parking lot.

There is no cost or registration required to participate.
We can’t wait to see you at IGNITE Sunday!

in the Gathering Space.
