Dear Friends,

The 2015 Chef’s Classic Auction was a tremendous success and the 2016 Auction Committee is excited to improve on that success and has begun collecting donations. Please consider donating an item to the 2016 Chef’s Classic Auction. As we are often asked how parishioners can help or what items we need, we have put together a wish list. The wish list and donation form can be found in the back of church and on the parish website. Donations may be dropped off at the school ofBice. For more information or to arrange a special dropoff/

pick up, contact Sara Dice at [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support of our event.

Over the past ive weeks, I have shared many of the beneits of a Catholic education. Here are the inal two beneits of a Catholic

†—…ƒ–‹‘ according to Fr. Ronald J. Nuzzi:

2. Immersion in the Paschal Mystery Our lives are a series of small and not so small dyings and risings. In union with the Paschal Mystery, we realize that there is redemptive power in suffering, and in the power of the Cross. In it lies the answer to the mystery of all of life’s successes and failures. In the experience of the Paschal Mystery, we also realize the need for community. Like Jesus, we encounter our own Simon of Cyrenes to help us along our way.

1. An International View of the World Catholic school students learn that God is present and active in their lives and in the world.

They learn to recognize the “footprints of God” in their daily experiences, especially in the midst of life’s challenges. They develop a sense of “Sacramental Awareness.” They see the signs of God’s love around them, and become instruments of God’s grace in their own neighborhoods, communities, and the world.

Our preschool and kindergarten classes are illing up quickly.

There are only a few spots left in our 4Ǧyear old program and kindergarten class for the 2016Ǧ2017 school year. Please remember that students enrolled in our preschool program will have priority for kindergarten for the 2017Ǧ2018 school year. In addition, all families currently enrolled in the school will have priority in our new building! If you would like to schedule a tour and talk more about the power of a Catholic education, please do not hesitate to call me!

In Christ,

Mrs. Helm

ŽŵƉĂƐƐͲCompassion in Acon

We are a NEW community of young adults (ages 20Ǧ40) who desire to make service part of our DNA. Through unique service opportunities at Catholic Charities and our parishes, we put our compassion into action. In celebration of the Year of Mercy we are hosting the Mercy Madness Challenge, which invites all young adults to join us for biǦmonthly service opportunities that allow you to live out the Works of Mercy.

Join us for our next gathering on Saturday, Feb. 20th. We will meet at 4:45pm in the Narthex at Church of the Nativity.

Following 5 PM Mass, drinks and appetizers will be provided downstairs while we enjoy some fellowship and our speaker Ken Williams, CEO of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.

All are welcome! Please contact Ashley Oppermann at ͻͳ͵ǦͶ͵͵Ǧ2068 if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you!
