“El peso del Alma” seduces the audience through
the Hip Hop Dance mixed with other disciplines
as Contemporary Dance and Circus creating a
Contemporary Choreography.
Our inspiration comes from the actual robotic
behavior of the individuals, loosing its own identity,
following always a routine in life; from this stage,
we develop an original personality and the freedom
of the soul through the dance.
The pieces create a smooth intense path of
movement, light and music, encouraging each

dancer’s agility and originality, taking them to the
highest artistic expression.
“El Peso del Alma” follows the continuous
development of the Hip Hop, developing new scenic
languages. Our mission is to stimulate the Hip
Hop in its creative and investigation stages; this
deep study has taken us to the enhancement of
the Hip Hop professional dancer in other technics
and styles as Contemporary Dance and Circus Art
(Chinese pole and Aerial skills).

El Peso de Alma, is a Hip Hop Dance Company
created in 2010, settled in Madrid, and consists
of dancers of different nationalities and
different dance styles; this plurality gives us the
opportunity to work in different languages like
Breaking, Poppin, Lockin, Contemporary Dance
and Circus Arts, always trying to develop the
research and experimentation to find a common
language between Contemporary Dance, Hip Hop
and Circus Arts through the different intercultural
experience relations.

he creates the Company HIP JAZZ HOP contesting the same year in the “Recontres Nationale des Cultures Urbaines de la Villete (Paris)”. This experience gives him the opportunity to meet the Choreographer Zaza Disdier (Articulation Company) and to work together in a project concerning the text in the dance.1999
he takes part in the creation and choreography of the Blanca Li’s show MACADAM MACADAM, a well know international show. “Crystal Globe 07 to the best Dance Show”. This show is still on the road.2003

Tao Gutierrez, Borned in Granada, studied Philology in Madrid and Granada, and then Percussion, Electronic Music and Music Composition in the New York City College, with Bob Norton, Dan Carillo and Ron Carter. At the end of the 90’s, after 11 years in New York collaborating with musicians like Don Cherry, Baba Olatunji and Nana Vasconcellos , he decides to come back to Spain, this is the beginning of a long career creating film soundtracks like Poniente, Le Défi, El Calentito, El tren de la Memoria, Retorno a Hansala and in Productions like Hevia, Amistades Peligrosas and Edu, his creations also covers Ballets, specially for the Blanca Li’s Dance Company. The most remarkable dance pieces are Poeta en Nueva York, inspired in the book of Federico Garcia Lorca, and the last creation of Blanca Li, El Jardín de las Delicias.
His Goya’s nominations and his awards to the best O.S.T. in the Film Festivals of Montpellier, Monaco, Málaga, Guadalajara (Mexico), Cairo, Valladolid, Toulousse, and Miradas 2 Award and a Max Award supports his career.

Gustavo Hoyos Borned in Madrid, he met the Hip Hop culture in 1993 and was a member of the most important dance crews of the city Supersouthnics, QSC, and Madrid Kingz Flava, participating in the most important international Hip Hop events.
He is traveling since 1997 looking for knowledge, attending the main events in USA and Europe.
He worked with artists like Eminem (2006) and Gorillaz (2005), and for brands like Converse (2005) and CocaCola (2007). He has made shows on TV in Club Disney of Telecinco Channel and Disney Channel of Canal Satélite Digital. He danced in the film “La Máquina de Bailar” co-produced by Santiago Segura (2005). And he danced in the 900th special TV show of Sé Lo Que Hicísteis of La Sexta Channel. He has been part of the judge in important national and international Bboying contests since 2006. Also he has been invited with the whole crew Supersouthnics to international dance events since 2008. In 2011 he was awarded with a prize for his work in the Bboying community through the most important Hip Hop website: Universobboy.com where he still collaborates.
Currently he is working in Mariano Cruceta’s Dance Company and performed in En Rojo Vivo (2004-07), in Othello (2007-08) and in Invernadero (2009), where he got knowledge of Contemporary Dance, clown and dance + light. He performed since 2003 in Spanish Festivals like Madrid en Danza, Red de Teatros de la Comunidad de Madrid, La Otra Mirada del Flamenco and Los Veranos de la Villa. He was also Director of his own Dance Company called Supersouthnics and he has performed in Festivals like La Noche de los Teatros ’08 and Trielemento ’08, both in Madrid.
In February 2010 he created with Ahmed Karetti El Peso del Alma Dance Company, performing in the Dance Marathon 2010 of Madrid winning the first price to “Otras Danzas” and performing in the Danza de Primera Festival in the Fernán Gómez theatre of Madrid. Now he is working as a Breakdance/Bboying teacher in several dance schools in Madrid.

Graciel Borned in Madrid in 1987, he is a Mozambique descent. He is a dancer specialized in Bboying. His style is a mix of Contemporary and Latin Dance, he learned taking dance classes and in the different Dance Companies he worked for. His professionalism made him represent Spain in Bboying Constests in countries like Korea, Germany, USA and France, and also in in the “Expo 2010” of Shangai (China).
He worked with the Dani Pannullo Dancetheatre Company in Desordances 4 (2008), Little Street pieces (2009), Desordances 5 (2010) and Desordances 3 (2010).
He is Bboying and Capoeira teacher in several schools of Madrid.
David Ventosa was borned in Salamanca, is Choreographer and Dancer of Bboying (BreakDance) since 2000. He has a wide experience in this field. He is a national and international winner, representing Spain in the most important world events like “R16” 2007 (Korea), Freestyle Session Europa 2004 (UK), Battle Chelles (France), Evolution 2007 (USA)...
He has also studied Contemporary Dance and Circus Arts.
His interest makes him to organize the National and International Hip Hop Dance Festivals. He was a dancer and an actor in the company “Logela-Circle of Trust”, and the same role in Cirque du Soleil in the Expo Zaragoza of 2008. He was involved in the dance piece Klonk in many theaters between 2005-07 and with Papiroflexia between 2008-10.
He has worked in several advertising campaigns and video productions. He is also a dance teacher in the circus school “Santiago Uno” of Salamanca.

David Villaécija Borned in 1979, Madrid. In the early 90’s, he had his first contact with the Urban Art Culture. Painting in Exhibitions like “Festimad 2002, 03, 04, 05, 07”, “Meeting of Styles” (Madrid, 2003), “Salón del Cómic” (Madrid and Barcelona, 2005).
In 2008 he made the scenery of “Hip Hop don’t stop”, a dance show of the Dance Company Supersouthnics, and he performed with them doing live painting in the Festival “Noche de los Teatros ’08” of Madrid.
His artwork has a big relation with the Urban Art, but it’s always in evolution, through a research of new techniques, materials and art stands. His interest makes him experiment in other arts like Sculpture, installation and Scenery. In 2011 he focused in the development of his artwork in Installation and Scenery, letting him find the freedom in his work, creating a language between his work and the space.
In 2012 he starts working with the Dance Company “El Peso del Alma” making the scenery and the wardrobe.

Besides the Show, and in many occasions as a
complimentary event, the Company hosts Workshops
as well as the spectacle, on Hip Hop. This workshops
are an oportunity to go near the lenguaje of the Street
Culture, and allows the students to explore different
teckniques, such as Locking, Poppping, Old School, and
also get in contact with other aspects of the show, such
as the Chinese Bar, and the Aerial Dance, and explore its
choreographical possibilities.
The workshops, given by the dancers of the company,
well known and experienced, are for groups of beguiners,
intermediate or more advanced students, and give each
individual the oportunity of advancing at its own rhythm.
Grups can be designed for different ages, and a máximum
of 25 participants, of a similar level.
