FAQ’s
Q: I currently have an interface between
CareTracker and my clinical software. Will
it continue to work?
A: Our combined organization believes
strongly in interoperability between
systems, and we do not have any intention
of taking away points of integration that are
in place with other software suppliers, even
though we offer an alternative solution.
8
FAQ’s
Q: How will my services change following
the acquisition?
A: Currently services provided by Resource
Systems will not change. You will still call
the same phone number, visit the same
client care portal and talk with the same
friendly people.
9
FAQ’s
Q: Will the people I worked with at
Resource Systems still be supporting our
system?
A: Yes, they will just become part of the
Cerner Corporation. The office in New
Concord, OH will continue to operate as it
has in the past. Our associates have
extensive knowledge of the long-term care
industry and their clients, Cerner deeply
values that knowledge.
10
FAQ’s
Q: So, what will be different?
A: Our intent is for very little to change
about your current experience. However,
Cerner does bring significant opportunities
for you. You’ll have a chance to learn more
in the coming weeks and months.

Why is Cerner Investing in Long Term Care?
Managing Health, includes managing our aging demographics where they reside
Four out of every ten people turning age 65 will use a nursing home at some point in their lives
Our Clients Value it :
Our Home Health & Hospice clients are moving into longer term care models & oversight of the transitions of care
LTC clients are integrating home health, therapy and hospice services into their businesses
Cerner’s Acute Care Clients have a heightened interest in Post Acute and Long Term Care as they become Accountable
Care Organizations
•
Nursing home residents are also important users of hospitals. About 9 percent of all Medicare hospital admissions
are transfers from nursing homes. About 28 percent had one or more hospital visits during their nursing home stay
•
Readmission Management will incorporate “resident” facilities and comprise up to 40% of the discharges
In all Cases an Integrated IT Architecture is desired and today’s solutions are generally “dis-integrated“
