PRIMING THE CONTROL UNIT

- Connect the control unit to the water supply through pipe A (fig.6)

- The ball cock shuts off the water when tank B is full.

- Fit a Ø 8 x 1 mm copper pipe between the bur-ner and the control unit. Make sure that the pipe, which is not supplied, is of an appropriate length and has a bell end.

- Connect this pipe to the control unit at point C, and leave the other end free for the time being. - Operate the remote switch under the cover on

the indicator panel for a few seconds, until the pump pumps water out of the free end of the pipe. With two stage control units, repeat with the second remote switch for the second pump. This bleeds air from the water circuit.

- Finally, connect the free end of the pipe to the burner at point D. Take care to fit the non-return valve as shown in the diagram in fig.7.

Adjust water delivery by means of the graduated knob on the right hand side of the pump (see fig.8).

The graduated scale from 0 to 100 shows the percentage of maximum deliverable flow. The setting must therefore be made according to the fuel oil burner model and the type of nozzle/s fitted.

EXAMPLE No.1

OILFLAM 80 TWO STAGE BURNER WITH AQUAMATIC 1A CONTROL UNIT 1st stage burner nozzle: 7.0 gph = 45 kg/h fuel oil

2nd stage burner nozzle: 5.5 gph = 35 kg/h fuel oil Total flow of fuel oil: 45 + 35 = 80 kg/h

Water requirement: 8 kg/h approx. 8:20 = 0.40 = 40%. Turn knob to 40%. EXAMPLE No.2

OILFLAM 200 TWO STAGE BURNER WITH AQUAMATIC 2A CONTROL UNIT 1st stage burner nozzle: 15.0 gph = 98 kg/h fuel oil

2nd stage burner nozzle: 9.50 gph = 61 kg/h fuel oil Water delivery to 1st stage: 9.8 kg/h approx. Water delivery to 2nd stage: 6.1 kg/h approx. 9.8: 20 = 0.49 = 49%

6.1:20 = 0.30 = 30%

Set the two pumps to these values.

Note: Fine tuning of emulsion water delivery for optimum burn must be made on the basis of smoke analysis. 0 100 40% 0 100 49% 0 100 30%

ADJUSTING EMULSION WATER DELIVERY

AQUAMATIC SINGLE STAGE CONTROL UNITS

COMBINATION TABLE FOR AQUAMATIC CONTROL UNITS AND OILFLAM BURNERS AQUAMATIC TWO STAGE CONTROL UNITS

Emulsion water delivery must be about 10% of fuel oil delivery to the burner. The following table shows the maximum water flow rates for the various AQUAMATIC control units.

Caution! Single stage control units can be connected to two stage burners. In such cases the emulsion water supply is always connected only to the second burner stage.

MAINTENANCE

CONTROL UNIT BLOCK

CLEAN THE WATER FILTER AT REGULAR INTERVALS. TO DO SO PROCEED AS FOLLOWS (SEE FIG.11):

- Switch the control unit off. - Shut off the water supply.

- Drain off all the water from the control unit's water circuit by opening the drain cock on the water filter.

- Unscrew the bowl A. Use wrench B (supplied with the control unit).

- Pull out filter C and rinse it thoroughly to remove all dirt and impurities. Blow clean with compressed air if necessary. - Reassemble in the reverse order.

- Open the water supply. - Switch on the control unit.

CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL

Check the oil level in window 1 (fig.12) at regular intervals. Always do so with the pump motor/s off. Top up if necessary through plug 2, again always with the pump motor/s off. Caution! Use only SAE 140 oil.

The block indicator lights whenever the control unit's thermal relay (cut-out) trips or if there is no water sup-ply. If this occurs, the burner will continue to burn without emulsion water.

Identify and solve the cause of the problem.

If the burner blocks, the control unit automatically stops too.
