During this time, Abram was mature in age. He did not expect God to do anything big in his life. However, Abram benefited from God’s promises in his latter years. Abram had possessions but did not have any children and seemed to be too old to become a parent. God promised Abram that he would have descendants and they would inherit the land in Canaan. Abram believed and trusted God to fulfill his promise. When someone did not have a son as an heir the servant received their possessions after they died. Eliezer was Abram’s oldest servant and would become the heir unless Abram had a son. Later, God fulfilled his promise to Abram and Eliezer did not become the heir.

Adventures of the Faithful Five – Episode 5: Akeem Received His Reward

When Akeem’s brother, Malcolm was in the 2nd grade, Akeem’s father made a deal with him. Malcolm was told if he made good grades until he graduated from high school, he would receive a car as a reward for his faithfulness. Akeem knew his father was accustomed to keeping his promises. However, Malcom was concerned because his Math grades were not very good. Akeem’s father told Malcolm, “Your current situation will not determine the outcome. I know you are trying very hard. We can get you a tutor.” The extra help worked!

Malcolm graduated from high school with honors and received an academic scholarship to attend a 4-year college. His parents were so proud of him. Immediately following the graduation, Akeem’s father fulfilled his promise. Malcolm received a brand, new sports car as his reward.

Mrs. Jones wrote the classroom rules on poster board and hung them on the wall. The following rules were highlighted: Rule 8, students will not steal. Rule 9, students should not lie. When the new scholars arrived, they were given a copy of the rules for their agendas. Mrs. Jones expected every child to attempt to follow them. However, those who decided not to abide by the rules would experience

There was a contest in the school district. The principals put a notice in their schools giving the rules of the contest. This contest was for any child who might be interested in becoming a builder or construction worker when they grew up. The rules included making a miniature model of a house they wanted to live in one day. On the day of the contest, there were 125 models on display from 25 schools. The styles ranged from a little log cabin to a mansion!
