LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear members,

Over the last decade, CANSEC has unquestionably become Canada’s Global Defence and Security Trade Show. By the numbers, CANSEC’s 2015 record was impressive:

· 11,000 registrants, up from 6,000 in 2005

· 135,000 square feet of exhibit space, up from 26,000 in 2005 · 331 exhibitors, up from 155 in 2005

· 52 countries present, up from none in 2005

· 254 VIPs: cabinet ministers, senior government officials, ambassadors and high-rank military If you walked the show floor, you saw the many new booths exhibitors had invested in, the energy of attendees networking on the show floor, the business deals underway in the B2B room, and the number of high-level foreign delegations there to see the best you have to offer.

All this points to CANSEC being at an inflection point. Together, we are now in a position to take CANSEC from its strong roots to the global defence and security trade show you expect it to be. Over the last year we have been stepping out taking on a more prominent and public-facing role and CANSEC is our most valuable platform in this regard. We hope to use CANSEC more strategically to unveil innovation, bring forward our collective social responsibility and continue to champion our industry as a critical and essential part of Canada’s industrial base and a stable and growing economy.

Show management continually strives to ensure delegations arrive in a timely fashion, however, external schedules and adjustments are beyond the control of CADSI.
