A Shelby trainer comes to your location, works with your team, and focuses on your needs. There are three levels of expertise, so you can select the service that is right for you.
• Certified – The Basics. The Certified Trainer can show you how the software works and how to accomplish basic functions.
• Master – Intermediate. Master Trainers have the skills to help you go beyond basic use of the software and can help you with advanced tasks. Training for Donor organizations requires at least a Master Trainer.
• Consultant – Advanced. Our top level, the Consultant translates your needs into solutions using Shelby software and other tools such as queries or pivot tables. All training for HQ organizations requires a Consultant.
*In addition to the daily rate for Onsite Training, organizations are responsible for the trainer’s travel-related expenses, i.e. airfare and rental car or mileage at the current IRS rate, lodging, and meals. These expenses are payable to the trainer.
• Live and On Demand Webinars (purchased individually) - sold through Shelby’s Online Store, webinars are a simple way to get solid training from a top trainer at an affordable price.

Certified Associate Shelby Trainer (CAST)
Self-Training Options
Partner with Shelby Training and invest in setting up one of your team members to be the in-house Shelby “go-to” person. The benefits of this annual subscription include personalized training with a Shelby Consultant for the CAST member, free access to regional workshops, free access to International Shelby Conference (when accompanied by a paying staff member), free admission to webinars, and access to our trainers’ hotline.
Included in your annual support fees is access for anyone on your team to the Shelby Community. The Community is full of valuable resources to help you learn new tricks, find answers, or even go over the basics. Visit the Resource Center for documents and videos or search the many forums for solutions from other users or Shelby team members.

Memphis Workshop
Begin at the beginning. Held every other month at the Shelby corporate offices in Memphis, this is a great training option for anyone needing to get started in either the financials or non-financials in Shelby v.5 software. Stay the whole week and learn both!
Custom Workshops
Build Your Own Workshop. You say when, where, select the content, and perhaps even the trainer if you have a favorite. Mix and match our workshop curriculum to craft exactly the workshop you need at your location on the dates that work for you.

Arena Standard

Arena Premium
This is the newest of the Arena products. A minimum of 4 hours online training with an Arena trainer is required. This training is designed to give a new Arena user the knowledge needed to navigate in Arena Standard and begin using it effectively. Additional online or onsite training can be purchased.
New Arena users purchasing Arena Select Hosted will need the equivalent of 3 days of training. The training begins with four, two-hour, online sessions. These sessions give your staff a thorough introduction to the basics of Arena and walk you through the setup of items needed to launch Arena. Once you are comfortable with the basics, an Arena Staff Trainer comes onsite to complete the end-user portion of the training prior to launch. Additional days or hours can be purchased.
The training for clients using Arena Select is typically 3 days. The training is a combination of Arena Administration and End User training. It can be completed early in the transition process or right before Arena is started. Additional days can be purchased.
Discovery
Arena Discovery involves multiple steps over a three-day, onsite visit by an Arena Discovery Trainer. The goals of Discovery are:
• Staff Overview – In a lecture-style session we provide your staff a general overview of Arena, as well as prepare them for department-specific ministry sessions.
• Arena Administrator Training – This time is designed for anyone who will be a member of your Arena Administration team, from staff involved with Groups to the web team.
• Discover – We examine the way ministry works at your church. We spend time with you exploring ways to best fit your ministry needs to the many tools available to you in Arena. From these discussions we guide you through building the foundation of how you will use Arena.
End-User Training
The second visit is End-User Training. This training can be handled in one of two ways:
• Arena Trainer – Your staff is trained onsite by an Arena Staff Trainer.
• Train the Trainer - An Arena Staff Trainer works with a designated staff member from your church. This staff member, in turn, trains the rest of your team. This works best with large numbers of staff.

Arena Reporting Services Training
Reporting Services Seminar
This seminar is a three-day event that introduces the participant to the tools available in Visual Studio for writing Queries and reports. This program enables you to write custom reports based on the Arena data structure.
Advanced Reporting Services Seminar
Arena is proud to offer a new reporting seminar beginning in the fall of 2014. This two-day session begins where the Reporting Services Seminar leaves off. On Day 1 we will cover queries: functions, stored
procedures, and other industry-proven and functional SQL commands and tricks. Day 2 we will focus on the report-writing tools found in Visual Studio. We will cover maps, indicators, Sparkline, and bar charts. We will also explore the broad topics and uses of expressions.
You need to have attended the Reporting Services Seminar prior to attending this advanced seminar.
