Market Summary
For the 20 trading days in January, the TSE evidenced transactions in
912 million shares and rights worth $412 million. These figures
demonstrate a 55.5 and 43.4 percent decrease related to the volume
and value of trades respectively over the previous month. Of the 332
listed companies in the TSE, shares and rights of 231 companies were
traded for the month of January. Market price rose for 67 companies,
while it fell for 145 companies, and showed no change for the
remaining 20 companies.
Total market capitalization for January fell to $37,684 million,
demonstrating a 0.65% decrease as compared to the previous month
($37,943 million million in December).
The number of purchasers and number of trades were 60,608 and
118,157 respectively for the month. These figures demonstrate a 46
and 44 percent decrease in the numbers of purchasers and trades
respectively compared to the previous month (113,535 and 212,028 in
December).
214,424 Participation Certificates worth $23 million were also traded
during this month.
