Huawei eSpace UC Solution
Nowadays, IT is becoming increasingly consumer-oriented, and thanks to the mobile Internet wave, a growing number of mobile devices are being introduced into the enterprise IT environment. Mobility has become one of the most important aspects of the future enterprise collaboration application architecture, as more and more enterprises try to accommodate the bring your own device (BYOD) movement, allowing users to access company software and hardware via enterprise mobile applications on personal devices.
True mobility is demonstrated in three aspects, summed up in the motto, "anywhere, anytime, with consistency." However, combining mobility with UC brings new challenges to enterprises: first, the enterprise mobile application platform, which quickly deploys new applications and services; second, enterprise information security; and finally, diversified mobile device platforms.
In the field of enterprise communications, video is a highly popular means of communication, second only to audio.
Enterprises seek a more natural, easier-to-use, and lower-cost video communication solution. According to Gartner, it is an important milestone in the evolution of video technology trends that Telepresence and other video technologies have entered a period of increasing commercial usage. These video technologies will also be integrated with multimedia conferencing so that they can work more seamlessly with enterprise applications.
With rapid evolution in UC technologies, enterprises can now integrate voice, video, multimedia conferencing, and instant messaging applications into business processes and traditional IT applications (such as OA and ERP), improving office collaboration among enterprise users, partners, and customers. This increases operating efficiency and cuts operating costs.

with extensive mobile office capabilities.
Enterprise users can access VoIP, instant messaging, video communication,
and multimedia conferencing functions on diverse endpoints including PCs,
mobile phones, and tablets. This helps enterprise users to quickly respond to
customer requirements, enhance communication experience, and expand
service space for enterprises.
Huawei eSpace UC solution supports flexible deployment (centralized,
distributed, or hybrid deployment modes) to meet enterprises' service
deployment requirements at different development stages. Besides basic
voice services, it also provides a wide variety of UC applications. It provides
end-to-end multi-layer reliability support, from redundancy backup for
core components to local survival for remote nodes, ensuring smooth
communication.
Huawei eSpace UC solution covers a full lineup of product series and
solutions, applicable to small-, medium-, and large-sized enterprises
and serving up to 300,000 users. It supports smooth expansion to meet
enterprises' rapid development, reducing capital expenditure (CAPEX) for
enterprises.
Huawei eSpace UC solution provides a web-based GUI management tool that
helps to manage all service NEs at headquarters and branch locations. Users
can log in to a self-service portal to customize personal settings and schedule
conferences without any help from IT personnel. This helps enterprises
slash network management costs by 50%, greatly reducing the operating
expenditure (OPEX) for enterprises.
Enterprise communication has stepped into the UC era. Business process
optimization, support for elastic work mode, efficiency enhancement,
and business agility are top driving forces for enterprises to use the UC
system. Business agility and customer-centric orientation have become core
competitiveness for modern enterprises.
Huawei eSpace UC solution provides end-to-end openness capabilities
from systems to endpoints, allowing UC applications to be embedded into
enterprise business processes to implement integration with enterprise
businesses, OAs, and ERP systems. With the mobility, video, and collaboration
features, Huawei eSpace UC solution can help enterprises improve the overall
efficiency of business activities, innovate business models, and obtain business
agility.

With the rapid development and growth of smart devices, increasing number of enterprise users tend to use them at work. The process of introducing smart devices to offices must work in line with the daily habits of enterprise users and maximize the usability and mobility benefits of these devices. This poses higher requirements on office applications in enterprises.
Huawei eSpace UC solution provides multiple easy-to-use soft clients, including eSpace Desktop, eSpace Mobile, and eSpace Mobile HD. Enterprise users can use an impressive array of all-media interaction applications (such as texts, voice calls, video calls, and pictures) on these soft clients. eSpace UC clients provide differentiated features to adapt to different devices. Mobile clients highlight mobility requirements, such as quickly querying contact information, initiating IMs and voice conferences, and joining conferences with simple clicks. Tablet clients optimally accommodate mobile collaborative applications, large-screen video conferences, and content sharing capabilities.
The Huawei eSpace UC system architecture is designed based on the principle of openness and integration. The Huawei eSpace UC system provides platform and endpoint openness interfaces at multiple layers to meet enterprise customers' and partners' secondary development requirements and to adapt to diverse industrial application scenarios. In addition, it embeds UC applications into enterprise business processes to boost enterprise business agility.

Multiple Approaches to Construct a Secure and
Reliable UC Network
Enterprise IT systems focus on reliability and security. A secure and reliable system requires fewer maintenance labor costs and prevents security and reliability risks.
In terms of reliability, Huawei eSpace UC takes diverse measures to construct a reliable enterprise communications network: It features dual-center remote disaster recovery, dual-host standby for central nodes, gateway redundancy, multiple registration options for endpoints, local gateway regeneration, as well as power-off survival and local switching for analog phone users. In terms of security, Huawei eSpace UC offers a network-wide security access solution by taking into account the endpoint access, communications services, and IP network security. A variety of technologies, such as, SBC access (used by mobile endpoints in external networks to access the UC system) and end-to-end signaling and media encryption, are used to secure the communications network.
