GOVERNORS MESSAGE:
Hello members. For those who do not know me, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Brian McGarrigle, or BMAC. I was elected your new governor of Dale City Moose 2165. I joined the Franconia Moose in 2009. In 2016, my family and I relocated to Woodbridge from Burke and I transferred my membership to our lodge in Dale City. I come with a background of camaraderie and volunteer experience serving the community. I was a volunteer firefighter EMT in Centereach, New York, from 1996 – 2006. I know how important it is to help others and give back to the com- munities. If you would like to discuss what you can do to help, please let me know.
Enough about me and on to the good stuff. First, and foremost, I want to thank the out going board of officers for their leadership and dedication to our lodge. They taught me a lot of what it is going to take to be your next leader. We have some challenges ahead of us and we have worked thru the obstacles of the pandemic for now. We will continue to monitor the correspondence from Moose International, Territory Managers, and state guidelines as they continue to change. My most important goal is the welfare of our Dale City Moose Members and keeping the doors open.
I would also like to take a moment to congratulate our new board members. Thank you for wanting to occupy a chair in the lodge. Your duties and responsibilities to devote your best efforts and con- tinue to strive for excellence to meet our Moose mission will be key to our success as one team. A lot of you have already spoke to me about some great ideas you have. I look forward to working with each and every one of you to try and implement them.
In addition I would like to take another moment of your time to congratulate our new women of the moose board. The chapter also has some great ideas and events planned for our members once we can get past COVID-19.
In summary, I have an open door policy and always willing to discuss matters with each and every one of our members. I also encourage you to come to our meetings, chair a committee or two, and stay involved to help us remain successful. If it wasn’t for our members that continue to stay active and support our lodge, we would not be where we are today.
Thank you again,
Governor Brian BMAC McGarrigle

Greetings fellow Legionnaires, It is my honor to serve as the
Moose Legion Chairman for another year. First and foremost, I would like to extend a congratulations to the new officers of our Lodge. The Dale City Moose legion has seen our numbers grow last year by 33% we are 68 members strong! On that note we welcome our newest Legion Members:
Robert Simmons, Bobby Douglass, Ed Simms Richard Saunders, Brian West, , Todd Binette, and Jim Curtin. Last year was a momentous year for Bull Run 185 as we were awarded the Moose Legion Award of Excellence and finished in 9
thplace out of 159 Moose Legions country wide. Please get involved and help us make this year more success- ful than last. If anyone is interested in serving on the MLC board or volunteering for events, please let us know. Last Saturday we had our Summer meeting and conferral. Rohrbaugh and special guest VMA Prelate Terry Treadwell.
Fraternally, Thomas Murray Moose Legion Chairman-2165
Our meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of every month. Officers meet 6pm and the rest of the crew meet at 6:30 pm.
We have our next meeting on August 4.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions we have decided not to plan the yearly over night ride this year. Instead we will plan a day ride, so bring your ideas to the meeting and let’s discuss a date and ride.
The purpose of the Moose Riders is to be a social and civic activity group for members whose main concern shall be the support of Mooseheart, Moosehaven, and local charities, through motorcycling and volunteer work, as well as the social enhancement of their Lodge and Chapter.
Keep your knees in the breeze, Tommy Time
Dale City 2165 Membership Retention
Membership is the strength of the Moose. We can all help keep our organization strong by working to sponsor and retain members. A great way to start is by retaining the members you have sponsored into the Moose family.
Did you know that you can login to your Moose profile and see a list of every member you have sponsored? When you’re logged-in scroll down to “Sponsor History” and click on the link “Show Sponsor History.” The list will open in a separate window.
Don’t have a login? Go to: https://secure.mooseintl.org/MyRecord/login.aspx and register your Moose ID and create a username and password. If you are a Veteran and would like to self verify as a Moose Valued Veteran check the Veteran’s box.
Call, text, or email those you’ve sponsored and verify their membership expiration date. If they’re expired, encourage them to renew. If they’re unexpired, encourage them to renew early!
Send them the link to Moose Quick Pay: https://secure.mooseintl.org/QuickPay/Login.aspx.
They need only enter their Moose ID number and follow the prompts! They can even set- up recurring membership dues payment!!
While you are at it go ahead and renew your own dues early as well!
