This  course  is  provided  online  which  means  that  you   learn  and  study  in  the  comfort  of  your  home  or   wherever  suits  you  best,  in  your  own  Gme  and  at  your   own  pace.  

 

Successfully  compleGng  this  course  will  provide  you   with  the  technical  and  pracGcal  skills  necessary  to  carry   out  the  implementaGon  of  your  design  ideas.  

 

Each  module  has  been  carefully  put  together  to  help   you  understand  and  grasp  the  core  skills  required  to   become  an  interior  designer.    

 

How  to  achieve  the  best  out  of  your  own  unique  ideas   is  a  step  by  step  process  that  you  will  learn  as  you  work   your  way  through  each  secGon.

This  is  a  fully  comprehensive  interior  design  course,  set  out  over  ten  modules.  Each  secGon  has  been   meGculously  constructed  and  designed  to  take  you  through  the  design  stages,  the  creaGve  process  and   to  provide  you  with  the  key  skills  of  being  a  well  rounded  and  knowledgeable  designer.    

 

You  will  be  clearly  instructed  from  module  to  module  on  technical  and  pracGcal  topics.  The  pracGcal   work  is  set  out  in  projects  and  each  will  help  you  to  build  a  porSolio.  

 

The  topics  will  inspire  you  to  make  the  most  out  of  your  creaGvity  and  provide  you  with  the  tools   necessary  to  realize  your  own  skills  and  talent.  

The  login  details  that  you  create  during  the  enrollment  stage,  provide  you  with  access  to  the  secure   student  site.  Here  you  find  your  course  work  and  materials  that  guide  you  through  your  assignments   and  exercises.  

 

Basic  computer  skills  is  all  that  is  necessary  as  the  course  has  been  constructed  to  make  it  easy  for  you   to  navigate  from  secGon  to  secGon.  

 

Your  work  will  become  part  of  the  porSolio  which  you  will  present  to  your  future  clients.    

Upon  successful  compleGon  aWer  week  10  you  will  receive  your  cerGficate  of  Interior  Design.

It  is  not  necessary  to  have  any  design  knowledge  or  experience.    

Your  enjoyment  and  learning  experience  from  this  course  is  important  therefore,  all  steps  have   been  taken  to  provide  you  with  informaGon  and  strategies  to  assist  your  involvement.  

 

Your  commitment  to  your  learning  outcome  should  be  a  minimum  of  2  hours  a  week.  

 

No  creaGve  course  would  be  complete  without  being  hands  on  therefore,  you  will  need  some   materials  to  help  you  complete  your  course.  This  will  become  part  of  your  own  porSolio.    

You  can  sign  in  and  out  of  your  course  as  and  when  you  like  and  will  have  6  months  access  by  using   your  login  details.  You  can  go  back  and  review  your  modules  to  ensure  you  have  covered  all  topics.  

 

This  course  takes  you  on  an  intensive  journey  to  become  a  designer.  Topics  have  been  condensed   into  secGons  most  relevant  to  being  a  designer  and  carefully  distributed  over  the  course  duraGon  to   maximize  your  learning  outcome.    

You  will  cover  key  aspects  of  the  creaGve  process  and  the  design  stages  that  are  recognized   internaGonally.  This  informaGon  will  help  you  to  create  your  own  interior  design  projects.   All  of  the  PDF’s  available  to  you  form  the  INTERIOR  DESIGNIPEDIA  Design  Manual  therefore  it  is   advisable  to  print  and  store  them  in  an  A4  sized  binder.

  INTRODUCTION  

MODULE  1:  VISUAL  +  VISION    

This  secGon  focuses  on  what’s  what  of  interior  design  to  provide  you  with  a  broad  view  of  interior   design.  How  to  collect  visual  informaGon  to  create  your  own  designs  with  meaning  and  solid   conclusion.  The  importance  of  specific  design  styles  to  express  your  creaGve  ideas.    

MODULE  2:  DESIGN  STYLE  +  HISTORY  OF  ARCHITECTURE  +  DESIGN  

This  topical  secGon  is  a  fundamental  part  of  your  growth  and  awareness  as  a  designer.  You’ll  look   at  design  through  the  ages  and  join  the  dots  from  influence  to  influence  as  design  eras  evolved  into   what  you  see  around  you  today.  This  vital  informaGon  will  help  you  solidify  your  ideas  +  vision.  

MODULE  3:  SWEAT  THE  DETAILS  

WHAT  and  WHY?  In  this  secGon  you  will  create  a  design  brief  which  will  enable  you  to  make   conscious  decisions  regarding  what  your  design  style  outcome  should  be  and  the  reasons  behind   your  choices.    In  order  to  achieve  a  successful  end  result,  you  have  to  know  exactly  where  you  are   going.  You  will  review  the  ‘creaGve  process’  to  establish  your  method  from  start  to  finish.

 

MODULE  4:  COLOUR  MY  WORLD  

In  this  secGon  you  will  learn  to  skilfully  select  colour  with  confidence.  You  will  learn  about  the   psychology  behind  colour  to  reveal  their  individual  meanings,  which  then  help  you  to  boldly   introduce  colour  schemes  from  well  thought  out  palebes.  

MODULE  5:  SPACE  +  SCALE  +  PROPORTION  

It  is  in  this  inspiring  secGon  that  space  planning,  ergonomics  and  scale  drawings  are  looked  at  in   detail.  This  module  covers  the  importance  of  the  space  that  you  have  available  within  an

MODULE  7:  FABRICS  +  TEXTILES  

Silk  or  suede?  Wool  or  cobon?    This  is  an  introducGon  to  world  of  endless  possibiliGes.  When  it  comes  to   choosing  fabrics  you  will  need  to  know  how  to  use  them  in  combinaGon  with  style  and  class.    Here  you  will   learn  technical  informaGon  that  will  assist  with  your  selecGon  to  ulGmately  create  stunning  surroundings.  

MODULE  8:  MOOD  BOARD  +  SAMPLE  BOARD  

Learn  about  the  importance  of  mood  boards  and  sample  boards  and  create  effecGve  and  useful  boards  that   set  out  the  story  of  all  your  ideas,  relevant  and  complementary  to  your  designs.  In  this  secGon  you  be  taught   how  to  produce  boards  that  work  with  your  plans  creaGng  effecGve  communicaGon  between  all  parGes   involved  in  your  project.  

MODULE  9:  LET  THERE  BE  LIGHT  

Study  of  site  orientaGon  in  relaGon  to  natural  light.  Next  you  will  learn  about  the  available  forms  of  arGficial   light  and  how  to  create  various  aestheGc  condiGons.  Then  you  will  make  lighGng  mood  boards  and  next  you   will  transfer  your  ideas  into  a  lighGng  plan,  which  communicates  essenGal  project  informaGon.  

MODULE  10:  CLIENT  +  COMPLETION  

A  designer  is  20%  creaGon  and  80%  documentaGon  therefore  it's  vital  that  you  understand  your  role  and   how  to  navigate  through  your  project  on  Gme  and  complete  successfully  .    The  knowledge  contained  in  this   secGon  will  help  you  work  professionally  within  the  industry.  

MODULE  6:  FINISHES  +  MATERIALS  

You  will  grasp  necessary  informaGon  relaGve  to  walls  and  floors  so  that  you  can  go  on  to  create  beauGful   and  funcGonal  environments  that  support  your  design  style  and  selecGon  of  furnishings.
