What is eDOCS DM 5.2?
What is eDOCS DM 5.2?
- The eDOCS DM 5.1.0.5 Service Release 7 (SR7) has been
re-labelled to DM 5.2
Why is DM 5.1.0.5 SR7 now called DM 5.2?
- The tremendous feedback from Preview customers along with the
considerable enhancements and new functionality has warranted another step forward in the product’s roadmap
- We did not want customers to think it was a minor service release
- Proper planning and testing should be done as part of your
upgrade process
When will it be available?
- The DM 5.2 release is scheduled for November 16th, 2007
How do I get access to it?
- Similar to previous Service Releases, the DM 5.2 version will be

What is eDOCS DM 5.2?
How do I install it?
- The setup program will perform the upgrade to your existing DM 5.1.0.5 installations
Is this still installable as a service release?
- Yes, DM 5.2 can be installed on DM 5105 SR1 or greater - The previous DM Server components will not need to be
uninstalled prior to installing DM 5.2.
- DM 5.2 extensions can be upgraded from a previous version or as a new installation on client workstations
What about features from a previous Service Release?
- New features and bug fixes from previous service releases in the DM 5.1.0.5 product line have been rolled up into 5.2

User Based Record Classification
Manually file (Classify) a record
When filing (Classifying) a record the user selects the record classification
Manually declare (Mark Official) a record
- An authorized user or records manager can mark a classified record as official
The document will then be moved, copied or linked to the Record Classification when marked official
The document is made read-only in DM
A visual indicator is displayed in DM to show the document is marked as an official record

- Map a DM Folder to an Enterprise Library Records Classification
- Rules based classifications allowing administrators to map specific profile form field values to trigger the automatic classification i.e: document type = emails and project = xyz
