Simpte Folk Songs for violin and piano are arrangements of folk songs taken from Volume 7 of the Concord Series published by the E. C. Schirmer Music Company inl92l. Each "piece," as it should be referred to when being played on violin, is preceded by a preparatory scale which

introduces a new finger pattern. The lyrics at the end of each selection are provided not necessarily as a leaming device, but only as a point of interest and to indicate the style in which each should be played.
