How to Apply/Enrol

If your course has a ++ at the end of its course title, you must apply and attend an interview before you can enrol. To apply simply contact Course Enquiries

Once we receive your application, you’ll be invited in for interview with a tutor from your chosen curriculum area. You may also need to undertake a skills assessment. This is nothing to worry about – we just need to ensure you are enrolling to the correct course and can achieve.

If your course does not require an interview you can enrol prior to the start of your course at the Campus or Centre where your course is due to run.

You can enrol to any full cost courses marked with a * by phone using a credit/debit card. Simply call Course Enquiries on 0113 386 1997 between 9:30 - 12 noon and 2-4pm

Fees & Concessions:

The amount of fees you may be required to pay is dependent on your age and a range of other factors. Tuition and / or exam & registration fees must be paid at enrolment unless you have evidence for a fee concession. A range of concessions are available for those aged 19-23yrs depending on their eligibility (see table opposite). Please note courses marked with a * are not eligible for concessions.

The College accepts payments by cheque and all major debit and credit cards.

For fees of £100 or more, you can set up a direct debit with an initial payment of 25% of the course fee and the balance payable over a maximum of 5 further direct debit payments. If you wish to pay by direct debit, please bring your bank details with you to enrolment. #Students 19 – 23 with a learning difficulty and/or disability with low support costs who do not qualify for fee remission under any other criterion will be charged 50% of the full fee as a college concession. Please contact us for more information.

24+ Learning Loans

If you are aged 24yrs or above when you start your course and are studying a Level 3 or 4 course (including Apprenticeships), you will be able to apply for a 24+ Learning Loan. The College no longer receives funding for students aged 24yrs or over so these students now have to either pay for their course themselves or take out a loan.

If you are planning to pay using a 24+ Learning Loan, you will need to provide evidence that you have submitted your loan application when you come to enrol – otherwise you will be asked to pay fees.

Health & Caring Services – Childcare & Teaching Assistant Courses

Before you can enrol to any Childcare or Teaching Assistant course, you must attend an information session at one of our sites. These sessions explain more about the different courses available, how to obtain a work placement and will enable us to assess your skills to ensure you enrol to the correct level of course.

Beeston Centre has disabled access, careers information, advice and guidance. It also has a canteen and parking close-by.

Deacon House & Swarcliffe Community Centre

Deacon House is based in Seacroft, East Leeds. Courses offered are predominantly part time and the Centre boasts a state of the art hair & beauty salon. Deacon House is situated across the road from the bus station opposite Tesco. Swarcliffe Community Centre is based in Whinmoor.

Horsforth Campus is situated in a semi-rural setting and offers a great range of facilities including a Library+, refectory, student chill-out zone, sports pitch, horticulture and conservation facilities including greenhouses and poly tunnels along with managed woodland and an animal care centre.

Joseph Priestley Campus

Located just outside Morley town centre, Joseph Priestley Campus has two free car parks, a canteen serving hot and cold food plus a Library+ and a number of IT suites.

Keighley Campus

Opened in 2010, Keighley Campus includes a range of specialist facilities including hair & beauty salons and industry standard workshops for Welding & Fabrication, Carpentry & Joinery, Motor Vehicle, Electrical Installation, Plumbing & Gas safety, and Construction & Brickwork. The Keighley Campus is also home to the STAR Centre.

Meanwood Centre

Winthorpe Street, Off Bentley Lane, Leeds, LS6 4AN The Meanwood Centre is situated on the site of the old Bentley Lane Primary School between Headingley and Meanwood - this was previously called the Carr Manor Centre. It is easily accessible by bus but also has a large car park.

Park Lane Campus

Park Lane, Leeds, LS3 1AA

This site consists of two buildings: Park Lane Campus and College House. These buildings are opposite each other.

College House is the location of the Leeds City College Business School, where we offer a range of full-time and part-time professional courses from Management to Accounting.

The proximity of this site to Leeds City Centre is ideal for employees working in the City who are looking for additional training to supplement their career. College House is likewise home to Inc Enterprise – a business incubator Centre for new local businesses who need support to get started.

Printworks Campus

Hunslet Road, Leeds, LS10 1JY

In September 2013, Leeds City College’s brand new Printworks Campus opened on Hunslet Road on the site of the former Alf Cooke Printworks, one of the most recognisable industrial landmarks in Leeds.

The £25 million, state-of-the-art campus now houses specialist vocational and general facilities within a unique setting of restored historical buildings alongside new, 21st century architecture.

The Campus will be developed in phases after its initial opening and will cover 14,500 square metres on its final completion.

South Leeds Centre

Westland Road, Leeds, LS11 5SB

The South Leeds Centre on Westland Road is one of the College’s Transport & Engineering hubs and contains our Leeds Motor Vehicle & Engineering provision.

Purpose built and opened in 1982 by the Lord Mayor of Leeds and the Chairman of the Education Committee, the South Leeds Centre consists of a giant hangar for practical coursework, CAD classrooms, common areas and staff rooms, and stands in spacious grounds which are perfect for its needs. It is also the home to the renowned Classic Car Restoration team and facilities. Enrolment Times:

St Bartholomew’s Centre

Strawberry Lane, Leeds, LS12 1SF

St Bartholomew’s Centre is conveniently situated next to St Bartholomew’s Primary School, within walking distance of Armley Town Street and on a major bus route. The centre has drinks and snacks facilities and two on-site car parks.

Technology Campus

Cookridge Street, Leeds, LS2 8BL

The Cookridge Street site started life as the Kitson College of Science and Engineering in the 1960s. Situated adjacent to Millennium Square, the site has always been the flagship site of the former Kitson College / Leeds College of Technology, not least for its superb location.

The site has its own interesting history, having been the place where Pink Floyd wrote their Top-10 single See Emily Play in 1967, and also where The Who re-recorded two of their Live at Leeds tracks after being unhappy with the sound quality on the original University of Leeds recordings.

The building houses departments in Health & Caring Services, Media, Computing & IT, Business, Electronics, and Electrical Installation.

Business Communication Skills

This short course enables you to develop effective written, oral and non-verbal communication skills and understand the concepts and importance of team work. On completion of this unit and the Customer Care unit, you will have the basic Admin skills to progress to the Administration Level 1 Award.

Clueless About Computers
