JOB PROFILE

JOB TITLE: Information Technology Officer TEAM/PROGRAMME: Support Service LOCATION: Yangon Number of Position: 2

GRADE: D-1 Type of Contract: Open CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 2: either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).

JOB PURPOSE:

The IT Officer is responsible for first line technical support for information technology system

management and report to the IT Coordinator. The post holder will provide support the field offices IT related issues through sites visits, phone and e-mails. The post holder will provide technical inputs to the annual IT plan and capacity building of staff and IT Assistant as required. The Flexibility in performance of tasks in working late and at odd hours to ensure system availability. The IT Officer operates the wide and local area network systems at offices (including network communications equipment) and provides guidance/support to Yangon and field offices in the proper and productive use of all computers, communication equipment and services under monitoring of Information Technology Team. SCOPE OF ROLE:

Key accountabilities Incident Management

 To ensure that IT incidents are carefully and minutely detailed (both normal and discrepant occurrences). This includes system generated error messages, services not starting correctly, hardware failure ( covers communications equipment and electrical power devices ), and also anything that is disruptive to the routine processing of the systems

 Routine check-up of servers functionality through monitor utility, usage of memory, free space of server hard disk, cache buffers, dirty cache buffers, resource utilization, etc.

 Mainly responsible for data security, and always try to maintain security level of each and every user at File server

 Responsible for filing Save the Children International IT manuals, manufacturers/suppliers

documentation, emails, and cables, standard operating procedures applicable to Save the Children International operations and systems management as well as to develop IT Manuals for local staff  Use own initiative before approaching the IT Manager for solving routine operation problems.

Steps taken to perform problem solving must also be in detailed record in Save the Children International Incident Management System 'Jira'

Local Area Network

 Manage physical condition of Local Area Network (LAN) with systematic back-up systems; to include; information storage, virus protection, security and power supply

 Maintain strict confidentiality in all procedures and information

 Maintain and input Information Technology Management Operating Procedures (MOS) as necessary

 Managing and administering all workstations and network devices, e.g. printers, scanners, etc. Hardware support

 Provide level one support to office computers and related equipment , if requirement of service is higher than assigned level ,escalate accordingly

 Configuration of Hardware and setup according to the set global standards

 Carry out installation, configuration, routine preventive maintenance/checks and any necessary repair of, and support and troubleshoot problems with, all IT hardware equipment and computer accessories/peripherals

 Contribute to budgeting and forecasting in relation to IT equipment upgrade and disposal plan Software support

 Support programme in implementing and maintaining applications that assist them in their day to day work while ensuring that all software installed in the country office and the field offices conform to Save the Children International Information Technology Management Operating Procedures (MOS)

 Ensure user compliance to internal policies and procedures and report to Information System Coordinator in case of violations

 Help field users to understand IT policy and gather feedback from them on the policy and propose for update/change to line manager

 Liaise with Yangon for setting up email account and Active Directory account for staff Maintenance and Logistics

 Develop and maintain all electronic information storage and organization systems  Perform canvassing of software and hardware for procurement

 Monitoring and maintenance on server room, structure cabling within country office and field offices, electrical equipment such as AVR and UPS, network equipment such as wireless access point, switch and router in coordination with IT Coordinator and the respected IT focal person from the field offices

 Administrative of the PABX system Teleconference facilities in liaison with Administration team  Managing IT service provider service contracts ensuring the services provided confirm to the set

SLAs (Service Level Agreement) and continuous monitoring of the same  Ensure all hardware maintenance is regularly and properly carried out Staff Capacity Building

 Communicating with individual staff members from SCI to resolve IT problems

 Provide in-house training on email , internet and SCI cooperate standard software to all staff  Participate in SCI Information Technology induction to new comers with team

 Contribute in design and conduct in-house basic computer training for all Sittwe and Pauktaw staff with IT team. Plan to provide training and technical support to staff in software and hardware applications as required.

The IT officer is the first-line contact for field office ad-hoc computer, internet and network related questions and informal training. He/She will be responsible for training users on Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office and the selected applications as per Save the Children International standard guidelines.

Person specifications

 At least 3 years’ experience in related field (officer level)  Bachelor Degree in related field

 Good English communication skills, both written and verbal

 Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

 Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements

 Good Significant people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an

environment which encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas.

 Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children

 Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.

 Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy
