• Early days there were general impressions provided y y g p p but not truly conceptual models (e.g., “recreation for  the ill and handicapped” or “recreation as a  treatment tool ”) treatment tool. ). • 1970s/1980s RT worked frantically to define itself  (Leisure Ability Model was embraced).
