The College of DuPage Office of Student Financial Assistance provides a
comprehensive range of services that bridge the gap between resources of students

Broadcast Alert System
Students and staff can now sign up for Rave Alert and Rave Guardian, two broadcasting
alert and personal safety systems. Rave Alert uses emails, text messages, voice messages
and RSS feeds to notify subscribers of both emergency and non-emergency situations,
such as weather-related class cancellations. Rave Guardian is a mobile phone
application that notifies the campus police department of an emergency. To sign up,

Premium Parking
Premium Parking permits allow users to park in specifically designated parking
spaces located close to campus buildings. Summer 2015 semester premium
parking permits cost $25 and will be available for purchase starting

Request for Verification of Prerequisites
Some courses have mandatory prerequisites. If you completed the
prerequisite at another regionally accredited college or university, send
your transcript to the Office of Student Records and submit the Prerequisite

records/forms/prerequisite_evaluation_request.aspx. If you are currently
enrolled in the prerequisite course at another college or university, contact

If you are seeking a degree or certificate from College of DuPage and
have completed coursework at another regionally accredited college or
university, your credits may be eligible for transfer. Send your official
transcript to the College of DuPage Office of Student Records. Upon
receipt of your transcript, a transfer credit evaluation will be completed
within 6 to 8 weeks.

New Student Advising Sessions
All new students to College of DuPage are expected to attend a New Student
Advising Session prior to meeting with a student success counselor or program
advisor. This session introduces important academic and student engagement
concepts which will enhance your experience at College of DuPage.

offered during the day and evening, and are also available at select times at our

Our faculty team of Student Success Counselors and Program Advisors partner

General Information:
• College of DuPage requires Reading, Writing, Math and ESL Placement Tests
to determine proper class placement. Students must complete an Admission
Application Form before taking these tests. Photo ID and a College of DuPage
ID number are required for testing.
• On-campus placement testing is available Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to
4:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hours vary during high peak
times and semester breaks.
• Off-campus placement testing is available at the Learning Commons in the Carol
Stream, Naperville and Westmont Regional Centers, and at the Addison Regional

College of DuPage students may register without a permit through the second
calendar day following the first class meeting (10-Week classes only). As
an example, if the class starts on a Monday (M/W/F), a student can register
through Tuesday for this class; if the class starts on Tuesday (T/R), a student
can register through Wednesday for this class. Exceptions to this rule are
courses with required safety training, licensure, accreditation, or mandatory
seat hours for legal reasons. The waitlist function will remain active through
the late (2-day) registration period. Students are expected to take full
responsibility for making up any missed coursework associated with a
late registration. Once the late registration period has passed, students are
required to obtain a permit from the instructor. For 10-Week classes only,
a $10 late registration fee will be charged for each class
registered after
the second calendar day following the first class meeting

begins are considered late
and students are required to obtain a permit
from the instructor. A $10 late registration fee will be charged for each class
registered late, on or after its start date.
Students may request an E-permit to enroll late through myACCESS for
10-Week and 8-Week classes only, through the 10th instructional day. Go to
myaccess.cod.edu and log-in with your username and password. Under the
Registration section in the student menu, select Request a Permit. Permits are
valid for one day after issuance date.
Waitlist for Closed Classes
A waitlist is available to students for credit course sections. When a student
attempts to register for a closed class, the student will be notified that a waitlist
is available. The student will have the opportunity to be added to the waitlist
for only one section per course. If a seat becomes available, the student will
be notified via
College of DuPage email (dupage.edu)
and have 24 hours
to register for the open seat. If the student does not register for the open seat
within 24 hours of notification, the student will be removed from the waitlist
and the next student on the waitlist will be notified. If the student misses the
24-hour opportunity to register and wants to be placed back on the waitlist,
the student will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist. The waitlist function will
be turned off at midnight prior to the start of the 8-Week and 5-Week sessions.
The waitlist function will remain active through the late (2-day) registration
period for the 10-Week session.
Withdrawal Procedure
The final day for a student to withdraw from any course will be equal to 75
percent of the time for the respective academic session. Summer session

After the deadline, students will be required to appeal for late withdrawal

Tuition Refund Policy:
Add/Drop Tuition Refunds for Credit Classes
A student may receive full or partial credit for a course’s tuition charge if they
complete the official add/drop or withdrawal process through the Office of
Student Registration or online through myACCESS. Refunds are calculated on
the number of class meetings and are based on the percentage below:

Payment Policy:
College of DuPage requires students to pay their account in full or sign up for
one of our payment plans at time of registration. If your account is not paid in
full at the time of registration or you have not enrolled in a payment plan, you
will be dropped from your classes for the amount owed.
• Students may pay in full through myACCESS with a credit/debit card or via check.
• Payments may also be made with a cashier at the number mentioned above.
Payment Plans
College of DuPage offers affordable payment plans for students. The payment
plans provide the student the ability to make payments throughout the
semester. If you are eligible for financial aid (i.e. grants, loans, or Veteran
Benefits) you may qualify for a deferred payment plan. The deferred payment
plan scheduled payments usually do not begin until seven weeks after the
start of the semester to allow time for posting of all financial aid to a student’s
account. All students who enroll in the active or deferred payment plan will
have payments automatically charged to a checking/savings account or debit/
credit card. A late fee will be charged for all missed payments.

Student to Student Grant
The Student to Student (STS) Grant program at College of DuPage is a state
program that matches funds collected by the College for need-based grants.
Funds are collected through the Student Activity Fee. The $0.15 donation per
credit hour is voluntary. Students who do not wish to contribute can collect a
refund at the Cashier’s office.

3+1 students should consult with an advisor or counselor to map an
academic plan. Students can complete three years of their bachelor‘s
degree requirements at College of DuPage. The fourth year of study is
taught on College of DuPage’s campus by the partnering university’s

ADULT FAST TRACK PROGRAM

The Adult Fast Track Program (AFT) is for students 21 years and older
who lead busy lives but still want to pursue their educations. AFT courses
are accelerated, i.e., they are offered in an eight-week format and students
typically attend one four-hour class session per week (evenings or Saturday
morning). AFT classes are offered at four convenient locations: The COD
campus in Glen Ellyn and the Westmont, Naperville and Addison regional
centers. Students may enroll in AFT courses any time a new eight-week
session begins (as determined by assigned registration dates). AFT offers
Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Management
degrees, along with Supervision, Management, Organizational Leadership
and Entrepreneurship certificates. A wide variety of core general education
and/or elective courses are also available, and support many other COD
degree and certificate programs, as well as some requirements of certain
3+1 degree agreements. Qualified students in traditional (non-accelerated)
COD programs may enroll in AFT courses, as may qualified students of other
colleges or universities. AFT syllabi post on Blackboard two weeks prior to
class start with an assignment due for the first class. Students are expected to
