2.2.1 Feature Updates

New Features

CR20130407 025

The HG8247a enables users to configure the working mode of the radio frequency (RF) filter through the OLT CLI. The configuration is implemented by the OLT issuing OMCI messages to the HG8527a.

To meet customer requirements

CR20130128 043

In the ONT gateway mode, a PC connected to an ONT accesses the web server (connected to the same ONT) through a DNS server.

To meet customer requirements

CR20130305 039

Only unidirectional authentication is performed for terminals on Telkom's live network in South Africa. Therefore, Telkom, in its FTTH project, requires that only

unidirectional authentication should be performed for HG8247 ONTs when HG8247 ONTs are managed by the access control server (ACS). Unidirectional authentication means that the ACS authenticates HG8247 ONTs but HG5248 ONTs do not authenticate the ACS.

To meet customer requirements

CR20130325 046

The ONT registers with the U2560 by reporting the BIND message carrying the ONT SN and PON password, and supports ACS authentication progress queries.

To meet customer requirements

CR20130326 062

Dual tone multiple frequency (DTMF) detection Russia mode is customized so that the special female voice is not mistakenly detected as DTMF signals.

Resolved Issues and Known

Issues

This chapter describes the issues resolved in each officially released product version, and the known issues in the current product version.

The severity is classified as A to C."A" indicates critical.

"B" indicates major."C" indicates minor.

3.1 Resolved Issues

3.1.1 V100R006C00SPC122&V100R006C01SPC122

This section describes the issues resolved in EchoLife ONT V100R006C00SPC122&V100R006C01SPC122.

(17)

Troubl e Ticket Numb er Description Sev erit y Solution DTS201 3061701 000

Symptom and impact:

When factory defaults are restored through the web page, the 0

BOOTSTARP event is not added

sometimes. Then, this event is not reported after the ONT is reset.

Condition:

This issue occurs sometimes when ONT factory defaults are restored.

C Root cause:

An asynchronous message is sent to the ONT when factory defaults are recovered. However, the ONT may reset before receiving this message. As a result, this message fails to be sent.

Solution:

In a factory default recovery, file cwmp_rebootsave is deleted to ensure that an asynchronous message is successfully sent to the ONT and then the ONT resets.

3.1.2 V100R006C00SPC120&V100R006C01SPC120

This section describes the issues resolved in EchoLife ONT V100R006C00SPC120 and V100R006C01SPC120. Troubl e Ticket Numb er Description Sev erit y Solution DTS201 3033000 609

Symptom and impact:

When the airplay sharing is enabled on the set top box (STB) and more than 6 Apple devices are connected to the STB, the iPhone cannot discover the STB.

Condition:

This issue recurs when more than 6 Apple devices are connected to the STB for airplay sharing.

C Root cause:

The ONT supports only a maximum of 6 members in a multicast group.

Solution:

The maximum number of members in a multicast group supported by the ONT is expanded to 64.

(18)

Troubl e Ticket Numb er Description Sev erit y Solution DTS201 3041103 654

Symptom and impact:

When the PC connected to an HG8247 pings the websites, for example, Google, packet loss sometimes occurs.

Condition:

This issue occurs sometimes.

B Root cause:

There is a bug in the ONT mechanism for processing ping packets. As a result, ping packets are tampered with.

Solution:

This issue is solved by upgrading the ONT version. DTS201

3040107 848

Symptom and impact:

When the CPU usage of the HG8245 reaches 99%, for example, users are downloading something from Internet through Wi-Fi at a high download rate, voice services are of poor quality.

Condition:

This issue recurs when the CPU usage is high.

B Root cause:

The ONT performs rate limiting only for some queues. As a result, the CPU usage cannot be controlled during Wi-Fi

downloading.

Solution:

This issue is solved by upgrading the ONT version or reducing the number of BitTorrent seeds during Wi-Fi downloading.

DTS201 3030408 292

Symptom and impact:

The test instrument still detects frequency shift keying (FSK) signals even when the call ends.

Condition:

This issue recurs when the call hold announcement is played.

C Root cause:

After the ACK detection timer times out, the ONT still sends FSK signals if the phone connected to the ONT is off-hook and receives a call.

Solution:

If the phone is off-hook and receives a call, the FSK transmit timer can be enabled only when the ACK detection timer does not time out.

(19)

Troubl e Ticket Numb er Description Sev erit y Solution DTS201 3030402 190

Symptom and impact:

When the phone is off-hook and receives a call, the interval from FSK signal transmission

completion to ONT recovering to voice mode ranges from 66 to 88 ms. Such a condition complies with the interval (40 to 120 ms) defined in the standard. However, the interval is 196 ms on the calling party side.

Condition:

User B calls user A configured with the call waiting service, and user A establishes communication with user B. This issue recurs when user C calls user A and user C's phone number is displayed on user A's phone indicating that user A has a call waiting.

C Root cause:

There is a bug in the packet counting mechanism on the calling party side. As a result, the first 5 packets are discarded.

Solution:

The packet counting mechanism is modified so that packet counter is not reset and packets are not discarded.

3.1.3 V100R006C00SPC105&V100R006C01SPC105

This section describes the issues resolved in EchoLife ONT V100R006C00SPC105 and V100R006C01SPC105.

(20)

Trouble Ticket Number Description Severit y Solution DTS201303290 8949

Symptom and impact:

After the intelligent terminal management system (iTMS) successfully issues

configurations to the ONT, the LAN-WAN binding on the ONT encounters errors.

Condition:

This issue recurs when the iTMS issues the work order containing LAN-WAN binding parameters to the ONT.

B Root cause:

The work order issued by the iTMS contains both WAN port parameters and LAN port parameters, but these parameters are placed together in a disorderly way. The ONT performs

configurations on WAN port and LAN port for multiple times. As a result, the LAN-WAN binding encounters errors.

Solution:

The ONT classifies the parameters issued by the iTMS, and the ONT performs configurations for another port only after completing configurations for one port.

3.1.4 V100R006C00SPC102&V100R006C01SPC102

Trouble Ticket Number Description Severit y Solution DTS2013012404 674

Symptom and impact:

When the feature that allows automatic creation of port mapping rules (a feature required by Center Telecom of Russia) is enabled, the ONT (HG 8245) is expected to support the following functions:

After a successful ONT dialup, if the DHCP configuration is modified and another dialup using the same MAC address is

performed, the ONT generates 2 IP table entries with the same port

C Root cause:

The ONT does not clear IP table entries after a successful dialup.

Solution:

The ONT is optimized to clear the IP table entries after a successful dialup.

(21)

Trouble Ticket Number

Description Severit

y Solution

These 2 entries cannot be deleted even if the WAN port is down. After a successful ONT dialup, if the DHCP configuration is modified and another dialup using a different MAC address is performed, the ONT generates 2 IP table entries with the same IP address but different port numbers.

Condition:

After a successful dialup, the DHCP configuration is modified and another dialup using the same MAC address is performed DTS2013010604

339

Symptom and impact:

When multiple ONTs are connected the OLT and an automated script is used to repeatedly reset the ONTs, some ONTs equipped with

NeoPhotonics's three-phase optical modules fail to go online.

Condition:

This issue recurs when the above-mentioned ONTs are reset repeatedly. (Specifically, an automated script is used to issue the ont reset command to each ONT; the reset interval is 2 minutes; the ont reset command is issued to each ONT for 10000 times.) The NeoPhotonics's three-phase optical module encounters a failure of sending optical signals and the I2C chip stops responding when the ONT is reset for 400 to 600 times.

C Root cause:

During the ONT reset, the main control unit (MCU) of the

NeoPhotonics's three-phase optical module sometimes fails. Consequently, the optical module cannot be turned on to send optical signals after the ONT starts up from the reset, and the ONT goes offline.

Solution:

This issue is the known issue of NeoPhotonics's optical modules. To resolve this issue, the filtering resistance in the MCU power supply circuit of the optical module has been increased.

Symptom and impact:

In bridging or routing mode, when the Qtel-defined set top box (STB) with the special heartbeat function is used to order multicast videos, videos are suspended after a several minutes or about 10 minutes. The prompt message is failed to get media source, please try again later."

Condition:

This issue occurs when the Qtel-defined STB with the special heartbeat function is used to order multicast videos in bridging or routing mode.

C Root cause:

This STB reports the heartbeat UDP multicast packet to the ONT. After reaching the ONT, the packet is then looped back to the STB. As a result, the MAC address learned by the STB is duplicated.

Solution:

The ONT's forwarding rule is changed from MAC forwarding to MAC+VLAN forwarding.
