Key Features
PPS for GSM
In the prepaid service (PPS), a GSM subscriber prepays calls or other services. The implementation process is as follows: A subscriber deposits some money on his or her account in advance by a recharge card or other means. When the subscriber makes a call, the system accepts or rejects the call based on the information about the subscriber account information such as its state, balance, and valid period. During the call, the system charges the subscriber in real time and deducts the money from the subscriber account. When the money on the subscriber account is insufficient, the system terminates the call. In addition, PPS provides the enhanced service functions such as familiarity number service (FNS), cell and time distribution (CTD), missing call notification (MCN), incoming call selection (ICS), multiple accounts, SMS/ MMS prepaid service, GPRS and 3G prepaid service, real-time bonus and preference, and international roaming. PPS provides a risk-free operation mode for carriers. With the PPS function, a carrier can solve the problems such as delinquency, handling of too many bills, fraud charges, bad debt, and uncollectable debt.
BSS > 12
PPS also provides customers with the following advantages: A customer can immediately subscribe to the service •
without credit checking and deposit.
A customer does not need to pay the service periodically. •
A customer does not need to worry about number •
theft.
PPS for PSTN
PPS enables the subscriber to make calls at any telephones set with recharge cards and the call fee is charged from the recharge cards. It changes the traditional service operation mode, minimizes the operation risk of the network carrier and provides subscribers with a more convenient and effective communication method.
EPPC for CDMA
The Enhanced Prepaid Service (EPPC) is an intelligent
PPS for CDMA. Subscribers can buy recharge cards of various fixed face values and recharge their accounts. When a subscriber originates a call, the call is accepted or rejected by the system according to such information as account status, balance, and validity period. During the proceeding of the call, the system makes real-time charging and deducts the call fee from the subscriber’s account. When the balance of the subscriber’s account becomes zero, the ongoing call is terminated. Thus subscribers prepay for the calls and the uses of other services.
PPT Service
The prepaid telephony (PPT) service enables the subscriber to register a fixed-line telephone number as the applied PPT account. The charging function is implemented by intelligent networks and the call fee is deducted from the PPT account.
EVC
The EVC service provides virtual (electronic) recharging function for GSM and CDMA mobile prepaid subscribers and recharging channel management for carriers. A certain prepaid subscriber requests to be a distributor and the other prepaid subscribers request to be retailers under the distributor. An ordinary prepaid subscriber pays cash to a retailer, who then recharge its account with its mobile phone through SMS or USSD (for GSM subscribers only). Upon receiving a recharge request from the retailer, the system authenticates the retailer and checks its balance. If the retailer meets the recharging conditions for this time, the requested amount is deducted from its account and paid to the account of the subscriber. Finally, the system sends a recharge success short message to the retailer and the subscriber respectively.
EVC provides powerful and comprehensive distribution channel management to support quick and easy creation, operation, and control of distribution channels, helping carriers increase their revenues at lower costs. The service not only cuts the costs on issuing, making, delivering, and stocking recharge cards, but also contributes to environmental protection and transparent transaction with its electronic process from recharge amount producing to sales. In addition, the quantities of recharge amounts and the operation strategy can be adjusted to fit into the specific local conditions.
UVC
The Unified Voucher Center (UVC) is designed in line with the transformation from telecom carriers to PSTN/ NGN/GSM/CDMA multi-network carriers and to meet their need for lower CAPEX and OPEX. Integrating IT and communication technologies, UVC is a cross-network recharge and payment portal that focuses on recharge card management. It offers various subscriber access modes, recharge card brand and bonus management, virtual distribution, and other enhanced functions. UVC helps carriers cut equipment purchase and operation costs on the one hand, raises the satisfaction of end users with the easy-to-use features and enhances the competitive strength on the other hand.
