Na konferenci IC IT ’97 (International Conference on Industrial Tools) sta ista avtorja predstavila prispevek, ki j e popisoval uvajanje tehnik R P N (računalniško podprto načrtovanje) v razvoj povsem novega izdelka. K ot logično nadaljevanje tega dela, v članku avtorja predstavljata, kako so bili ti rezultati prestavljeni

v dejansko industrijsko okolje in kako natančno so bili določeni. V članku so p ra v tako predstavljeni rezultati kotfunkcija geometrijske oblike orodja. Največji poudarek p ri prim erjavi rezultatovje bil dan na sliko polnjenja orodne votline, časa polnjenja, časa izmetavanja in p a najvišjih temperatur, ki nastajajo v orodju med zapolnjevanjem orodne votline. Prav tako j e predstavljen napredek p ri odločitvenem diagramu.

A t the conference IC IT ’97 (International Conference on Industrial Tools) the paper was presented by the sam e authors, where the introduction o f CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) tehniques in the development o f a completely new product was described. A s a logical continuation o f that work, in this paper the authors wish to present how these results were transferred to real life and how they were implemented. In this paper som e results are presented as the function o f mould geometry. The main results which we compare are the results o ffill time, ejection time and pea k temperature. Also the progress on the decision diagram is presented.

O UVOD

P risp e v e k p re d sta v lja p rim erjav o m ed rezultati raziskav, ki so bili objavljeni na konferenci ICIT’97 z rezultati v dejanskem industrijskem okolju [1]. V tem prispevku je bilo predstavljeno razvojno delo na zaslonki pralnega stroja.

Medtem je proizvodnja zaslonke pralnega stroja stekla. Prispevek opisuje, kako je bil izveden prenos znanja v industrijo, kako je stekla proizvodnja in kako naj bi v prihodnosti razvijali nove izdelke.

Za sodelavce pri projektu je bila velika priložnost, da smo sodelovali v vseh korakih razvoja izdelka in orodja, od zasnove izdelka, skozi razvoj in detajliranje orodja zanj, pa vse do izdelave. Prav tako smo sodelovali pri razvoju montaže zaslonke pralnega stroja na vrata pralnega stroja.

K akšni sta naloga in funkcija zaslonke vrat? N aloga in funkcija zaslonke je v tem , da prepreči dostop do vročih vrat pralnega stroja, med pranjem perila (tem peratura vrat se lahko zviša tudi do 95 °C )[1].

O INTRODUCTION

This paper presents a com parison with the results w hich were given in the IC IT ’97 confer­ ence paper [1]. In that paper, the developm ent o f the door blind for the w ashing m achine was pre­ sented.

Recently, the production o f the blind was started. This paper presents how this production started and how the development o f the new product should be implemented in the future.

It w as a great opportunity for us to be able to follow the phases o f the developm ent o f a new product, from the design phase o f the p ro ­ duct, through the m ould design to the production o f the product - the blind. We also observed how to m ount the blind to the door o f the w ashing m achine.

What is the aim o f this blind? It is to pre­ vent access to the hot door o f the washing machine during the operation (the temperature can increase up to 95 °C) [1],

Z upoštevanjem vseh teh om ejitev in z upoštevanjem velikosti izdelka (izdelek je eliptične

oblike dimenzij a • b = 341mm • 287mm ) lahko oceni­ mo izdelek kot relativno zahteven [1],

Na skici orodja, ki je bila predvidena v prvi fazi razvoja, sta bila načrtovana dolivni in hladilni sistem orodjarne (Gorenje Orodjarna). Zaradi dimenzij izdelka in zaradi zahtevane količine izdelkov je bilo načrtovano samo eno oblikovno gnezdo. N aloga TECOSa je bila simuliranje zapolnjevanja orodne votline, preverjanje hladilnega sistema in ugotavljanje zvijanja in krčenja izdelkov po izdelavi v orodju zaradi predelovalnih parametrov [1].

Pri razvoju novih izdelkov je treba izvesti določeno število in zaporedij korakov. Ti koraki so predstavljeni na sliki 1.

a • b = 341mm-287mm) the manufacturing should be relatively difficult [1],

On the sketch of the mould, the runner and cooling system were presented, as was planned by the mould maker (Gorenje Orodjarna). Because o f the product dimensions and required quality only one cavity is foreseen for this mould. Our task was to simulate the filling o f the mould, to control the cool­ ing system and to evaluate the warping and shrink­ ing o f the door blind as the result o f the processing conditions [1],

In the development o f a new product sev­ eral steps must be undertaken. These steps are pre­ sented in Figure 1.

1 STOPNJE RAZVOJA ORODJA

Kakor se na sliki 1 lepo vidi, potrebujemo na različnih stopnjah razvoja in izdelave različne tipe prenosa podatkov. V prvi fazi, ko zamisel o izdelku spravljamo na papir, ne potrebujmo fizičnega prenosa podatkov.

K o je skica izdelka gotova in sprejeta, mora biti takoj izdelan trid im en zio n aln i računalniški m odel. M o deliram o lahko s pom očjo različn ih programskih paketov. Treba se je osredotočiti na čim bolj natančno izdelavo m odela. V se napake na modelu, ki se pojavijo v tej fazi, lahko povzročijo veliko izgubo časa in denarja v fazi izdelave orodja in proizvodnji končnega izdelka. Zato je treba tej fazi posvetiti posebej veliko pozornosti.

V [1] smo posvetih veliko pozornost fazi RPN, ki mora slediti fazam grobih konstrukcij izdelka in orodja. V tem prispevku se na fazo RPN ne bomo več vračali.

Korak, ki sledi fazi razvoja orodja RPN, je priprava orodja na izdelavo. Največji problem v tej fazi je nastajanje ustrezne kode za številsko krm iljeno izdelavo oblikovnega sistema orodja. Oblikovni sistem v orodju se lahko izdeluje z uporabo različnih obdelovalnih tehnologij, na primer [2]:

- elektro erozijske obdelave (EEO - EDM), - običajne obdelave (ŠK/RŠK - NC/CNC), - zelo hitre obdelave (ZHO - HSC).

Za izdelavo vseh drugih delov orodja, kakor so na prim er pritrdilne plošče, izmetala, podporne plošče itn., je treba uporabiti tehnologije, kot so frezanje, struženje, vrtanje, brušenje.

Ko je izdelava orodja končana, se orodje dostavi naročniku ozirom a izdelovalcu končnih izdelkov. V primeru, daje orodje izdelano po korakih, ki so narisani na sliki 1, je poleg preostale obvezne dokum entacije m ogoče p rilo žiti še tehnološke podatke za izdelavo končnega izdelka, ki vsebujejo podatke o:

- uporabljenem polimernem materialu, - času zapolnjevanja,

- temperaturni nastavitvi na orodju za brizgalno kakor tudi za izmetalno stran orodja,

- p o tre b n i te m p e ra tu ri p o lim e rn e ta lin e za brizganje,

- b rizg aln em tlak u v šobi stro ja za brizganje polimerov,

- potrebni zapiralni sili in njenem profilu, - profilu poznejšega tlaka (če je potreben), - času hlajenja orodja.

Če je orodje opremljeno s temi tehnološkimi p o d atk i, lahko izd elo v alec začne s postopkom brizganja z relativno dobre osnove, in mu tako ni tre b a n a stro ju is k a ti o p tim a ln ih p ro c e sn ih param etrov, saj jih dobi kot rezu ltat analize na računalniku.

1 TOOL DEVELOPM ENT PHASES

As we can see in Figure 1, we need differ­ ent data exchange at different stages o f the develop­ ment phase. There is no physical data exchange from the idea to the sketch o f the product.

A fter the sketch is done and accepted by the company, a 3D com puter model has to be gen­ erated. This can be done using different software. We need to focus only on the precision o f the m od­ elling. A m istake in this phase can cause substan­ tial loss o f tim e and money in the m anufacturing o f the m ould and in the final m anufacturing o f parts. That is why a lot o f attention m ust be paid to this phase.

In [ 1 ] we paid great attention to the CAE phase, w hich should follow the stages o f the de­ sign o f the product and the rough sketch o f the m ould. These issues will not be dealt w ith in this paper.

The next step is the preparation for the mould manufacturing. The main problem here is to generate an appropriate NC code for the manufac­ turing o f the active part o f the mould. The active part o f the mould can be made by different machining techniques, such as [2]:

- electro discharge machining (EDM), - conventional machining (NC / CNC), - high speed cutting (HSC).

W hen the m ould is finished, it is shipped to the user. I f the m ould is m ade w ithin the steps m en tio n ed in F igure 1, the accom p an y in g d o cu ­ m en tatio n o f the m ould com prehend also the re ­ q u ired d o c u m e n ta tio n fo r the m o u ld and the te c h n o lo g ic a l d a ta n e e d e d fo r m a n u fa c tu rin g concerning:

- the used polymeric material, - the fill time,

- the temperature settings for the mould (movable and stationary side),

- the injection temperature for the polymeric ma­ terial,

- the injection pressure in the nozzle o f the injec­ tion moulding machine,

- the required clamping force,

- the pack and hold profile (if needed), - the cooling time.

P ri iz d e la v i o ro d ja še v ed n o o sta ja jo določeni problemi, ker nekaterih podatkov, ki smo jih dobili s simuliranjem, ne moremo nastaviti na stroju neposredno. Na žalost ne moremo neposredno na stroju nastaviti brizgalnega tlaka v šobi stroja, ampak lahko nastavimo le hidravlični tlak. Za rešitev tovrstnih težav uporabljam o diagrame. Prim er je

prikazan na sliki 3 [3],

Na sliki 3 vidimo, kako lahko iz tlaka v šobi stroja nastavimo hidravlični tlak.

W hen manufacturing a tool some problems still persist, since some o f data are not easy to be set on the machine. It is impossible to directly set the injection moulding pressure for the nozzle o f the in­ jection moulding machine. Only setting the hydrau­ lic pressure to the injection moulding machine is possible. For solving such problems we use diagrams. One example among them is shown in Figure 3 [3]. In Figure 3 the way how to determine the hydraulic from the injection pressure is presented.

2 PRIMERJAVA REZULTATOV

R azv o j z a s lo n k e j e bil n a re je n po priporočilih, ki so zapisana v [ 1 ] in v tem prispevku. V nadaljevanju tega poglavja je podana primerjava med rezultati simuliranja in med dejanskim stanjem v proizvodnji.

2 COMPARISON OF THE RESULTS

The development o f the blind was made with the recommendations which were written in [ 1 ] and in this article. In the continuation the compari­ son between the simulation and the real results is given.

Kakor je vidno iz preglednice 1, v proizvodnji dejansko uporabljajo isti material, ki smo ga izbrali s simuliranjem, tako da je ta parameter pravilno določen. Najvišja temperatura taline ni bila meijena, ker za to ni bilo potrebe. Vsi drugi podatki, ki so bili meijeni in primerjani s simuliranjem, ustrezajo pričakovanju.

As we can see from Table 1, the m aterial is the sam e, so the input data were correct. The maximum melt tem perature was not m easured, be­ cause there was no need to control this tem pera­ ture. But the other data fit w ithin the expected limits.

3 SKLEP 3 CONCLUSION

Najpomembnejši rezultat opravljenega delaje prikazan na sliki 4. Kakor se s te slike lepo vidi, je bil izdelek narej en po predloženem računalniškem modelu.

Prispevek v povezavi s prispevkom [1] predstavlja primer računalniško podprtega razvoja izdelka in orodja v svoji najboljši luči. Vsi potrebni popravki, ki smo jih z uporabo simuliranja odkrili, so bili na orodju dejansko izvedeni.

Najpomembnejše pri celotnem opravljenem razvojnem delu pa je, d a je bilo orodje skonstruirano in izdelano pravilno in, kar je še pomembnejše, orodje je bilo narejeno v dogovorjenem času. To pa je tu d i v zro k , da bom o s to v rstn im delom in

postopkom nadaljevali tudi v prihodnosti.

The m ost im portant result o f our work is presented in Figure 4. As Figure 4 shows, the real product in m ade on the basis o f the com puter model.

This paper is an example o f CAE supported product design in the best possible way. All the needed corrections which were mediated by the com­ puter were considered.

The m ould for the door b lin d w as m ade c o rre c tly and on tim e, and th is is the reason, w hy we in ten d to do this kind o f w ork in the future.
