FRIARS COVE LODGE

MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT PLAN

You can now pay your membership dues on-line using www.PayitSquare.com. Please note that we will be offering a quarterly payment plan beginning with the 2016 and will provide you with additional information on that. We are evaluating PayPal as an option to pay dues by either credit/debit card or bank transfers. If we are unhappy with their service, we will consider other payment processors like Stripe and Dwolla. We have chosen PayPal because it offers both methods of payments.

Your membership dues payment options for 2015 are as follows:

1.

Pay $800 by credit or debit card.

This is convenient for 2015 if you are unable to pay your full $800 by the due date and would prefer to charge your credit card. This method of payment will include a payment processing fee of $24.90 which will be added to your total at time of checkout. The membership + fees consist of the following:

Annual Membership Dues $800.00

Pay It Square Fees

Flat fee per transaction 1.29 Subtotal of membership dues + Pay It Square Fees $801.29 PayPal Fees

2.9% of $801.29 $23.24

Flat fee per transaction 0.30 Processing fee through PayIt Square 0.07

23.61 Total Fees charged to you at checkout $824.90 Please follow the following steps on the Pay It Square website:

A. Click on the Pay now button on the main screen (do not click unless you are paying by credit or debit card- for other methods of payments please see those sections).

B. Enter your first and last name (only the first name of the cardholder needs to be entered), then click “next” at the bottom of the screen.

(2)

C. Enter the information on the next screen as follows and click “next” at the bottom of the screen (please note that if you already set up on the Pay It Square website, it will prompt you to confirm the information saved is correct):

D. Confirm information you entered is correct, then click on “Pay with Credit Card or PayPal” button under the Items box (please note that this may take a couple of minutes while the website redirects you to PayPay, the payment processor for Pay It Square):

(3)

E. Click on “Pay with a Credit or Debit Card” and enter your card information. UNCHECK THE “SAVE THIS

INFORMATION WITH A PAYPAL ACCOUNT” BOX. At the bottom. Leaving it checked will prompt the website to create a PayPal account which you do NOT have to do in order to make a payment using this method. The Pay It Square fee of $.129 will be added at this point. Click the “Review and Continue” button at the bottom of the screen. You will then see a total of $824.90 which now includes the PayPal fees in addition to the Pat It Square fees. You can then proceed to make your payment. Please keep a print screen of your confirmation for your records.

2. Pay $800 by bank transfer to Friends and Family for FREE using a PayPal account.

This method is available for those members that want to pay on-line, but want to avoid paying payment processing fees and are willing to create a PayPal account to do so. The payment is made by creating your own personal PayPal account for free, then making a bank transfer to Friends and Family using your bank account information. Friars Cove Lodge, Inc. does not represent PayPal in any way and is merely suggesting this option as an alternative to paying by debit and credit card. After you create a PayPal Account if you don’t already have one, you will have the ability to link a bank account and bank debit card to your PayPal account. PayPal will need to confirm your bank account information before you can make a bank transfer which could take 2-3 business days (follow the instructions on the PayPal website on how to do this). Once confirmed, you will begin to establish a spending pattern so that security levels can be set. If you have never used PayPal before and try to make an $800 transfer to friends and family, chances are you will have to call PayPal and validate the transaction (PayPay works similar to credit card companies that watch your spending habits and will not process a large payment without you verifying it). If you discuss your payment for dues, please make sure PayPal understands you are not paying for goods or services, but are merely making a transfer to your Association for dues which are NOT considered a service (they may try to convince you that they are and try to charge you fees- you are NOT paying for a service so make sure they don’t talk you into paying using your debit card or credit card). Because of the strict security levels that PayPal sets, you might want to either pay by using option 1 (pay by credit card) or option 3 (pay by check). The bank transfer method of payment lends itself better for smaller amounts and may be more useful if you want to pay your dues quarterly.

To make a bank transfer free of charge using your PayPal account please follow the following steps:

a) Go to www.Paypal.com and sign in using your account information, then click on “Pay or Send Money” button at the top of the screen (first blue circle as shown in print screen below):

b) Click on “Send money to friends or family” on the right side of the screen. Do NOT click on Pay for goods or services as there will be a charge from PayPal made to Friars Cove when it receives the funds which will be passed on to members.

c) Complete the next screen using Friars Cove Lodge, Inc.’s PayPal account which is tied to an e-mail set up by the Treasurer who will keep track of all payments sent through PayPal: delarosacpa@comcast.net. This e-mail address is NOT tied to the Treasurer’s PayPal account, it is tied to the business PayPal account set up for Friars Cove. It is IMPERATIVE that you enter the e-mail address correctly or you will have to ask PayPal to cancel the bank transfer and may be a charge to do so. Click “Next” button at the bottom of the screen. If you get a message that says they cannot process your payment, you will need to contact PayPal directly to validate the amount (you probably do not have a history of spending and they may need to adjust your balance to allow you to pay a large amount). PayPal’s customer support number is 1-888-221-1161. Please keep in mind that we have chosen PayPal as our payment processor and it is being evaluated- if we receive negative feedback on their service, we are prepared to evaluate other providers.

3. Pay your $800 annual dues by check by dropping it off at the Treasurer's home.

This option is available only for annual dues. There are no fees associated with making your payment by check and the Pay It Square website will be updated to include your payment so you can view it for confirmation that your payment was received.

Please note that quarterly payments that will begin with the 2016 dues cannot be made by check. Unfortunately, it is time consuming to accumulate payments by check and our Association does not have the resources to administer payments manually.
